The 15 Hottest Female Stars Of The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead might be a gritty show about surviving the zombie apocalypse, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that the show is not swarming with super hot actresses. Sure, it’s not Keeping Up With The Kardashians. There is no glamorous lighting. No one is contoured or wearing fake eyelashes. That being said, there is something much more beautiful about the women on The Walking Dead. The lack of glamorization reminds us that sometimes people are even more beautiful without all of the fixings. The Walking Dead stars are meant to look like they are living through a zombie apocalypse so they rock the barefaced look and their hair looks like it was washed last month... but they still look good. Christian Serratos doesn't need fake eyelashes or to have her face contoured. She's just beautiful.

The women on this list are all gorgeous but vary in their time on the show. Let’s be honest, it’s hard to find someone who has lasted very long on the show because, uh, zombies. Even if they only appeared in one or two episodes, these hotties made an impression. Others on this list have appeared in almost every episode, with no signs of going anywhere soon. I mean, we all know Michonne and Maggie are both pretty safe for the time being, right?

Below are 15 sexy women who play badass characters trying to survivor the zombie apocalypse. Let’s be real, what’s sexier than a badass woman? Nothing.

15 Sarah Wayne Callies

Regardless of how you felt about her character, Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Lori Grimes, was one of the hottest women on the show when it first premiered. I mean, this was the woman who was married to Rick and being pursued by his crazy bestie Shane. She had to be kind of attractive for audience members to buy that two hot dudes were super into her. Admittedly, due to her character’s annoying attitude, some audience members still wondered what was so special about her that both Rick and Shane were pursuing her but hey, you can’t really blame Callies’ pretty face for her character’s dumb decisions.

Before her appearance on The Walking Dead, Callies appeared on Prison Break from 2005 to 2009. She’s also set to appear in Prison Break: Sequel out in 2017. So, if you’re missing Callies, you’ll have a chance to see her on the screen again soon.

14 Alexandra Breckenridge

Why not just jump on over to Rick’s other love interest? Alexandra Breckenridge played Jessie Anderson, who was perfectly fine as a character. There was nothing to personally not like about Jessie… except her sons. They sucked a lot and they eventually lead to her own death, when she basically let zombies eat her after seeing her youngest son get eaten by zombies. Rick was sad for a whole three seconds before he realized that Jessie was gripping onto Carl’s hand and he went ahead and hacked off her hand. That's ol' Rick for you. He'll love you and, err, cut your hand off and then leave ya.

While she was a blonde on The Walking Dead, you may recognize her as a redhead. She played the sexy, red headed maid in the first season of American Horror Story. Yep, that was her in the almost not even there maid outfit. Other than that, she’s also had appearances on Save Me and True Blood, as well as having done voice work on Family Guy.

13 Keisha Castle-Hughes

If you’re wondering who Keisha Castle-Hughes played, don’t worry, she only appeared in one episode so it's easy to forget her character. We decided to throw her on the list because she's hot and also due her work on television shows and movies in the nerd universe.

She played Joan, a patient who would rather die than stay at Grady Memorial Hospital, during her appearance on The Walking Dead. It was one of the first major red flags that pushed Beth’s determination to escape. If she looks familiar, it could be for other reasons, like her role as Obara Sand, one of the Sand Snakes, on Game of Thrones. She also appeared in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as Queen of Naboo. Castle-Hughes has been steadily working since her screen debut in Whale Rider, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.

12 Alanna Masterson

Though her character is never really glamorized on the show, Alanna Masterson has one of those faces that is pretty even without any makeup because of her naturally strong eyebrows and long eyelashes. The 28-year-old plays Tara Chambler on the show. When we meet her character, she’s teamed up with The Governor, not knowing that he’s really a baddie. After watching Hershel be gruesomely beheaded by The Governor, Tara kind of caught on to the whole "he’s a bad guy" thing. Since then, her character has done several kickass things, like helping Glenn get back to Maggie at all costs.

Masterson also had a reoccurring role on Mistresses but, uh, let’s all forget about that.

11 Christine Woods

Listen, if Christine Woods wasn’t tremendously sexy, she wouldn’t have been included on this list, as it’s very easy to really, really hate her because of the character she played on The Walking Dead. Christine Woods played Officer Dawn Lerner, who was in charge of Grady Memorial Hospital. You may also remember her because it was her accidental gun shot that killed dear Beth. Of course, Daryl shot Officer Dawn immediately after, because screw her. Yeah, like we said, luckily for Woods, she’s so hot when she’s not Dawn Lerner, we had to include her on this list.

She also appeared on About A Boy, Hello Ladies and Flashforward. Since she didn’t kill a beloved character in those other shows, she’s probably more likeable on them.

10 Jeananne Goossen

From one unlikable character to another: Jeananne Goossen. Goossen only appeared in one episode as Michelle, a Savior who held Carol and Maggie prisoner.

Of course, Alicia Witt, who played Paula, the red headed Savior in charge, gets most the attention in that episode. Paula tells Carol her backstory about how she killed her boss and even bonds with Carol in an odd way. Goossen’s Michelle ends up slightly bonding with Maggie over the fact that Maggie's pregnant… well, that’s until Michelle tries to stab Maggie in the stomach.

Even though she tried to kill Maggie and baby Glenn, Goossen was still really good looking while being evil. She’s also appeared in The Following, Nashville and The Strain.

9 Alexa Nikolas

Alexa Nikolas played one of the members of Woodbury, who we actually got to know for a bit before she was killed off. Nikolas’ Haley guarded the wall with her bow and arrow. One day, Andrea joins her and Haley talks a big game, claiming to have killed her father for the bow and arrow. Andrea simply tells her that's not why she killed her father. When a zombie approaches the wall, it turns out that Haley can't shoot for shit. She tries to take down a zombie over and over and over again to no avail. Andrea then hops down off the wall and stabs the zombie, which really pissed off Haley, even though she sucked at trying to shoot it. Haley is later shot by Maggie.

Though her minor character in The Walking Dead wasn’t essential to the main plot, we included her because of what a hottie she is. The 24-year-old has been working for quite some time, best known for her role on Zoey 101.

8 Teri Wyble

Teri Wyble played another officer from the Grady Memorial Hospital plot, because the whole Grady Memorial Hospital plot was seriously cop central. She’s much easier to like though, because she didn’t kill innocent, sweet Beth. (Screw you, Office Dawn. We'll never forgive you.)

Wyble played Officer Shepherd, who was one of the officers the group had taken hostage. She is also the levelheaded officer who keeps the situation from escalating after both Beth and Dawn were shot. Sure, her role was minor but her face is beautiful. She’s also had some success in film, with a role in Terminator Genisys as well as Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

7 Danai Gurira

Ah, Michonne, the fiercest babe living in The Walking Dead. Of course, her look is so specific and strong that everyone might not be down with Danai Gurira’s looks but hey, we’re totally fans. And so is Rick.

We may know Gurira as Michonne but the actress, who received her MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, has quite a few roles on the horizon. She’s joined the Marvel Universe as Okoye in the upcoming Black Panther. She’ll also play Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, in All Eyez On Me, the upcoming Tupac biopic. Also, before joining The Walking Dead, she had a six episode role on HBO’s Treme.

There’s no denying that this beautiful actress’s star is on the rise. No wonder Rick is such a fan.

6 Beth Keener

Beth Keener played Annie, an Alexandria resident. While she only lived two episodes, she was still one of the stronger Alexandria women. I mean, most of them stayed inside the walls and talked about how they wished they had a pasta maker. No, really, that’s totally what most of them did. Annie, on the other hand, was a member of Heath’s supply runs team. Her willingness to venture outside the walls for the betterment of the group won us over. Oh, and also the fact that she's gorgeous helped.

In season six, Annie is with the group that tries to keep the zombie heard from attacking Alexandria. On the mission, she trips and twists her leg but keeps going. When they get into a nearby town, she trips again and, knowing that she won’t be able to get up and escape the approaching zombies, she tells the group to go on without her. She shoots 3 zombies before she runs out of ammo and is eaten.

Like we said, she didn’t live all that long but she was gorgeous and selfless so yeah, we're totally into her.

5 Emily Kinney

Oh, Beth Greene, we still totally miss you. Not only is Emily Kinney a total hottie but she also has a beautiful voice, as we heard from her time on The Walking Dead. Even though she's long gone, her stint on The Walking Dead as actually very long in terms of the show. I mean, you’re lucky to live a whooping three episodes, but Kinney was around for 49 episodes and even had herself a nice character arc in that time. She grew from the sweet, innocent girl who didn't really have what it took to live in that world and turned into a survivor who stabbed a chick in the neck with scissors. We all know how that ended, though.

Before The Walking Dead, Kinney had small roles on The Good Wife and The Following. Since she left the show, Kinney has had roles on The Knick and Masters of Sex. She now stars on the ABC show Conviction.

4 Christine Evangelista

You may not like Christine Evangelista’s character, Sherry, all that much right now. She wasn’t nice to Daryl and basically, anyone who doesn’t love Daryl is straight up out of their mind. It's Daryl.

Anyway, we don’t actually know all that much about Sherry at this point in the show, as she only appeared in two episodes. In the comics, she was married to Dwight (D-list Daryl) but upon joining the Saviors, she became one of Negan’s wives. She then cheats on Negan with Dwight, which is what lead to Dwight’s lovely face scars which we've actually seen on the show. As of right now, Sherry is still alive in the comics so if the show follows the same route, we’ll be seeing more of Sherry in the upcoming seasons.

That all being said, Christine Evangelista has a beautiful face so it’s easy to see why Dwight would risk having his face burned off just to be with her.

3 Sonequa Martin-Green

Sonequa Martin-Green plays Sasha Williams, one of the strongest women on the show. Even though she always has her hair pulled back and is making a fierce/angry face, she’s still 100% beautiful on the show. She’s even more beautiful off the show, when she can wear her hair down and, y’know, wear makeup and not look so angry.

Her character on the show is totally lovable too. Of course, she went off the deep end after Bob and Tyreese both died. That was kind of annoying but we forgive her. We forgave Rick for getting phone calls from beyond the grave and having Lori hallucinations, so we have to give everyone at least one free grieving pass. Since then, Sasha has been back to her badass self. Before The Walking Dead, Martin-Green appeared on The Good Wife, as Julianna Margulies’ assistant.

2 Christian Serratos

Can we all just take a minute and really appreciate Christian Serratos’ face and body? I mean, really. She is hot.

The 26-year-old actress plays Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead. When we first meet her, she’s helping Abraham escort Eugene to DC, a plan that we all know was in vain, as Eugene was not actually a scientist with the cure to the zombie disease. Also, when we meet her, she’s rocking what one could only consider to be a slutty Halloween costume of a zombie apocalypse survivor: short shorts, a midriff bearing shirt and boots. It doesn't seem all that practical but hey, it's totally hot.

In season six we saw Abraham break up with her in a seriously rough way. Really, the whole, “When I first met you, I thought you were the last woman on Earth. You're not,” was much meaner than it had to be. Have some bedside manner, Abraham. Also, what the hell was Abraham thinking?

In fact, Serratos is so hot that we'll forgive her for being in the Twilight series.

1 Lauren Cohan

We tried to not really play favorites or anything but Maggie is obviously number one. Duh. Played by Lauren Cohan, who has a beautiful face and body to begin with, Maggie as a character is one of the most likeable characters on the show, making the farmer's daughter even hotter.

Her big introduction comes when Andrea is about to get eaten by a zombie and Maggie rides in on a horse, takes out the zombie with a baseball bat. Maggie is basically a superhero in that scene. We’ve also seen her lose her father and sister in some pretty awful ways that played at our heartstrings. Oh, and then there's the season seven premier where she lost her husband and the father of her unborn baby in the most gruesome way. Through all of that, though, Maggie stays strong and doesn’t give up. What is hotter than that?

To top if off, Cohan is one of the few actresses who got to shoot a few sex scenes on the show. With a body like hers, it certainly doesn't hurt to appear sans clothes in some scenes.

We'll end on this fun fact: Cohan played Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Oddly enough, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (aka Negan) played Thomas Wayne. Weird, right?
