Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick has been accused of sexual assault by two different women and now the Los Angeles Police Department has launched an official investigation into these very serious claims.
According to Deadline, actress Kristina Cohen used Facebook to share her story. Cohen alleges in a very detailed post that Westwick sexually assaulted her in 2014, while she was taking a nap at his home. After telling her story, she went to the LAPD to file an official report against the actor. The police report indicates that there are two witnesses who can back up her allegations—her friend former child actor Blaise Godbe Lipman, and her sister Katalina Colgate. While neither of the witnesses were there when the alleged assault took place, both have said that Cohen told each of them the next morning what had happened to her.
However, Westick has not only denied that he assaulted Cohen, but that he even knows who she is. He used Twitter to defend himself against the allegations. It would not be the last time this week that the actor would use social media to defend himself against allegations. Two days after Cohen accusations, former actress Aurélie Wynn also took to Facebook to accuse Westwick of assault in a very similar story to Cohen’s. In a much harsher and direct Tweet, the actor once again defended himself and denied any wrongdoing. He also shared that he is fully cooperating with authorities.
Gossip Girl alum Ed Westick is facing some serious allegations of assault by two women. While the LAPD is officially looking into Cohen’s claims, an investigation into Wynn’s accusations has not yet been launched. That is because she did not file an official police report like Cohen did. No further information or details regarding the case have been revealed as of now. Production on both of Westwick’s BBC projects has been halted as he deals with the investigation and allegations made against him.
The Hollywood sexual harassment or misconduct scandal continues and Westwick is the latest star to be added to that list. What do you think about the allegations made against him?
