When it comes to the rich and famous in Hollywood, it's interesting how celebrities can experience such a difference experience in regards to public opinion. Some people relate public opinion to the type of roles an actor takes because an endearing character can win over fans. A great example is how Julia Roberts has been coined "America's Sweetheart" since her roles in films like Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman have shown her with a heart of gold. Yet, it's not always film portrayals that can alter the public's perception of an actress. Oftentimes, their behavior behind the scenes can influence how the public perceives them and it's not always favorable. While they can do an amazing job in their roles on the big screen, the public can be quite fickle and there is a thin line between getting exposure and being overly exposed.

Celebrities in young Hollywood aren't exempt from the public's criticism, but not every young celebrity has fallen victim. With it being incredibly difficult for adults to cope with the stress that comes with fame, it can be exponentially more stressful for young celebrities. The intense scrutiny of the media and the pressures of the job can be too much for some to bear. Oftentimes, young celebrities are known for lashing out and going the extreme in their behavior.
