8 Hollywood Couples That Won't Make It To 2018 (And 7 That Will)

For every Hollywood couple with a long-lasting relationship, it seems like there are ten others who break up every month. There are many couples who have been married for years and turned into relationship goals, but it makes you realize that nobody is safe when you see that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split up. The divorce rate is the highest that it has ever been, so it's not surprising that many marriages, let alone relationships, aren't making it as long as we would all like.

It's understandable why so many Hollywood couples tend to fail, they're usually spending their time on the road filming and promoting their latest movies, which makes it tough to maintain a strong relationship. Not to mention the temptation they must face, these stars have plenty of admirers from fans to fellow celebrities, resulting in affairs that usually make it to the public in one way or another.

There are many current couples that look great on paper but are clearly not a great fit, then you have relationships that just appear to be rebounds from their previous ones. Those are always doomed to break up within a few months since they aren't built on true feelings. But there are still couples that have survived trials and tribulations to prove to everyone that love still exists and not every relationship is going to end in a heartbreak.

15 Won't Make It: Brad Pitt And Ella Purnell

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split up, even the biggest believers in love started having their doubts. Some were even fantasizing about the reunion of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, but that's obviously just silly talk.

Since the break-up, Pitt has been linked with several women although none of these relationships lasted beyond a couple weeks. It's safe to say that he was on the rebound and enjoying his single days after years of marriage.

In recent times, Brad Pitt has been rumored to be dating Ella Purnell, a 21-year-old actress who's breaking into the industry. Age is clearly just a number for the 53-year-old star who is more than old enough to be her dad. If the rumors prove to be true, don't expect this relationship to make it beyond 2018, if it even manages to escape October. Brad Pitt is unlikely to settle down anytime soon.

14 Will Make It: Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively

If you ever find yourself doubting love, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are here to sway your opinion. Their cute relationship will tug all the heartstrings and make you want to fall in love to experience what they have. From co-stars to lovers, the couple met while filming their 2010 film The Green Lantern, and they were married after two years of dating.

They also have two kids and have been happily married since tying the knot. According to Lively, they are never apart for too long and usually work on different schedule, so they can be around each other as much as possible.

When one of them is set to start filming, the other doesn't pick up any projects, which has contributed to their successful marriage. Although we have seen stranger things happen, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will definitely make it to 2018, and for the sake of love, we hope their marriage never ends.

13 Won't Make It: Shia LaBeouf And Mia Goth

Like so many Hollywood couples, Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth fell for each other while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol. 22 in 2012, resulting in a marriage after four years of dating. Their relationship has its ups and downs, even more so than the average couple as they have hit some real lows.

In 2015, a video surfaced of the couple having an argument on the camera and it escalated to the point where LaBeouf threatened to hit her. Thankfully, he left the thing before he did and they ended up reconciling. A few months ago, it was rumored that their marriage might come to an end due to LaBeouf's antics getting on his wife's nerves, who demanded that he changes his ways. Apparently, his immature behavior has gotten him in troubles, while his temper makes him extremely difficult to deal with at times. It won't come as a shock if the couple ends things by 2018.

12 Will Make It: Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson

With their marriage approaching its 30th anniversary, most expect Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson to remain a couple by next year. How many Hollywood marriages can you think of that didn't end up in a divorce? Three decades of marriage is impressive in modern days, and even more impressive when considering their professions. But even they weren't safe from divorce rumors, which significantly increased in 2016, but the couple denied them and claimed that their marriage is sacred.

At this point, the couple will most likely remain together until the end of times, they are always a safe choice when it comes to guessing couples that will never break up. After all these years, they are still very much in love with each other and their bond only gets stronger as the years pass by. Modern couples could learn plenty from Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks.

11 Won't Make It: Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis

Back in 2012, everyone was excited upon hearing the news that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis became an item, reuniting after years of working on That '70s Show. Three years later, they got married and have had a solid relationship for the most part until 2017. This year, their relationship got rocky after experiencing some tensions with many predicting that they may not last too long.

According to rumors, Kutcher has neglected some of his parenting responsibilities by not being around as much as Kunis expects. She has also been skeptical that he may be cheating on her, and with Kutcher's history, that's somewhat understandable. It remains to be seen whether the couple can overcome their marriage problems, but divorce rumors started surfacing in 2017.

Although they make a great couple, and we would love to see them stay together, it wouldn't come as a shock if the marriage didn't make it to the new year.

10 Will Make It: Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith

Will and Jada Smith have been relationship goals for so long, but even they haven't been safe from the occasional break-up rumors. Thankfully, they've managed through the hardships and are still married as of today, proving that love still exists.

The couple met when Jada auditioned for a role on the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, and it seems like she immediately caught Will's attention. In 1997, the couple got married after dating for two years. They went on to have two children whom most people are familiar with in Jaden and Willow Smith.

Will and Jada's parenting methods have been questioned by some, while others have accused them of being swingers. Jada has laughed off these claims while Will doesn't acknowledge them. Their marriage is said to be shaky from time to time, but that's normal for most couples, and we expect their marriage to last beyond 2018.

9 Won't Make It: Joe Manganiello And Sofia Vergara

It's never a good idea to marry so fast after meeting someone, it's one of the main reasons behind divorces. You need time to get to know someone and marriage isn't the one way to do it. Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara started dating in 2014, and they were engaged just six months later. They would tie the knot a few months after and have remained together since then, but the couple hasn't escaped divorce rumors with many tabloids claiming that their relationship is in jeopardy.

It was even said that Vergara had an affair while in Rome after being pictured with her ring off, which she denied while her husband claimed that the picture was photoshopped. As it turned out, there was no editing involved and she did have the ring off, but that's not a sign that they are headed for a divorce. If the rumored tensions are true, then the couple may not last as long as we would like.

8 Will Make It: Ryan Gosling And Eva Mendes

Can you imagine someone leaving Ryan Gosling? It doesn't seem like a possibility as he has built a reputation for being one of the most handsome and respectable actors today. Eva Mendes is a catch too, and Gosling appears to be more than happy in his marriage. The relationship began while on the set for Beyond The Pines in 2011, and it got more serious every year. Although they never tied the knot, they have welcomed two kids since then.

The couple is one of the most private Hollywood couples, shying away from the spotlight as much as possible without any drama to speak of. A few months ago, Gosling was awarded a Golden Globe for best actor and he warmed all hearts when he dedicated his speech to address his wife, crediting her for always supporting him while doing a great job at raising their kids.

7 Won't Make It: Emma Roberts And Evan Peters

Like many couples on this list, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters met on the set of a film back in 2012, when they worked together on Adult World. Since then, their relationship has been rocky, to say the least.

A year later, Roberts was arrested following a verbal dispute that turned physical, leaving Peters with a bloody nose. They managed to patch things up and got engaged just a few months later, but that didn't last too long either and they split up.

The couple reconciled once again and just when everything was going smoothly, it was revealed that they had broken up. At this current time, they are still together but that could change on any given day as history indicates, and if we were to make a guess, it's only a matter of time before Emma Roberts and Evan Peters break up...again.

6 Will Make It: Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel

Following a series of failed high profile relationships for Justin Timberlake, things finally worked out for the better once Jessica Biel came into his life. They started dating in 2007 and have become relationship goals for plenty of fans due to their great chemistry. They got married in 2012 and have a son together, but things took a turn for the worse a year prior.

In 2011, the couple broke up for some time, but they remained on good terms before deciding to give their relationship another year. The break seems to have greatly benefitted them since they were keen to tie up the knot right away, perhaps they realized their true feelings towards each other.

In the past few years, their marriage has been solid as they recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary since they started dating. We simply don't a split up in the books for them anytime soon, if ever.

5 Won't Make It: Liam Hemsworth And Miley Cyrus

Possibly the most complicated relationship on this list, the couple has had a lengthy history of drama. Depending on the year, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth continue to date on and off. In case you're wondering, they're currently together after going through more break-ups in the past few years than most people experience in a lifetime. They met on the set of their film The Last Song, and they continued the romance off-screen.

In 2012, the couple got engaged after Cyrus was spotted with a ring, but that was called off just a year later. The ring would resurface from time to time before disappearing for a few months. Four years later, the couple got engaged once again but rumors of a split up never stopped. They're one of those unpredictable couples that nobody will be shocked to learn that they've broken up again if they fail to make it to next year.

4 Will Make It: Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka

Before Neil Patrick Harris revealed to the world that he was gay, it was rumored that he was involved in a relationship with David Burtka, who ended up appearing on How I Met Your Mother. The pair ended up admitting that they had been dating since 2004, and have become parents to twins as of 2010. Four years later, they got married and have been breaking hearts since then with their real-life interactions and social media posts.

The couple is always working on improving their relationship, and even attend a couple's therapy for their own benefit. Not that there are any glaring issues, but they prefer keeping it that way by working on everything through communication. They continue to be an aspiration for the LGTB community, and you can expect the couple to celebrate another year of marriage in 2018, as there haven't been any signs to make us believe otherwise.

3 Won't Make It: Seann Penn And Leila George

Very little is known about Sean Penn and Leila George's relationship, but what most people can agree on is they won't make it to 2018. They began dating last year but it didn't exactly seem like a serious relationship. The couple has been on and off throughout the year, and have been spotted together from time to time but their days as partners are numbered. Penn is likely to be spotted with a new girl by his side and we will forget that he ever dated Leila George.

George is the daughter of Vince D'Onofrio and has been trying to break into the Hollywood scene. Thanks to her father, it's very likely to happen as she has already featured in some films. Sean Penn will probably prove to be a major career boost as well if she manages to keep him around by next year.

2 Will Make It: Nick Offerman And Megan Mullally

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally are a pretty unique couple, but it shouldn't come as a surprise when looking at their body of work. Mullally, best known for her role as Karen Walker on Will & Grace while Offerman is best known as Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation, they have portrayed unique identities that fans grew to love.

They met during a play in 2000, and they instantly clicked due to their similar sense of humor. Three years later, they got married and haven't looked back since then. In an industry where it has become quite rare for a marriage to not end in a bitter divorce, Offerman and Mullally have had one of the most solid relationships.

They are very supportive of each other, appearing on each other's shows to portray roles, with Mullally taking on the character of his ex-wife in Parks and Recreation.

1 Won't Make It: Kristen Stewart And Stella Maxwell

Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell have been spotted quite a few times together since last year, but it wasn't confirmed that they had been dating until late December. There isn't much known about the relationship as they tend to be very private and try to stay away from the spotlight as much as possible. What we know is that Stewart has previously stated that she's bisexual and expressed her willingness to date men, stating that she loves trying new things.

Going by her dating history, it seems like that's the case as well since she has had several partners in recent years. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just the direction this relationship may be heading towards. With a new year, Kristen Stewart is like to start it off with a new partner as she always seems to.
