Have you ever wondered what your favorite celebrity looked like before they were a huge Hollywood A-lister? Ever wondered if they were always so fabulous and out together? If they were just born looking flawless? Then we have just the list for you. It’s hard to imagine but some of the biggest and most attractive stars were once just normal kids who looked no different than the rest of us.

Of course, somewhere in the meantime, these celebrities blossomed into the people we know today. It’s clear that puberty has been very kind to those featured on the list. In fact, we find it hard to recognize some of these stars in the earlier snaps. Maybe they have just been blessed to get better-looking with age or maybe they’ve had some help from beauty experts in Hollywood. We may never know. One thing is for sure. They certainly have changed since childhood.

Chris Pine

One of the images above shows actor Chris Pine as the handsome man he is now, while the other shows him when he was a more disheveled teenager. Although Pine is recognizable as himself in the younger snap, it’s plain to see that he still has changed a significant amount from his younger days. Pine's first acting role was in a 2003 episode of ER, the same year he also appeared in episodes of The Guardian and CSI: Miami. One of Pine’s more notable early movie roles was in The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement. He played the part of Nicholas Devereaux, the love interest of Anne Hathaway’s leading character. Pine has become an international star in recent years due to his portrayal of James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot film series, which began in 2009 and is currently ongoing. The actor has made many more movie appearances in the likes of Unstoppable, Into the Woods, Hell or High Water, and Wonder Woman.

January Jones

January Jones is certainly a stunning actress these days, but look how much she has changed since her mullet-wearing childhood days. If we saw this photo of Jones as a child on its own, we’d never figure out that it was the actress in the picture. This is because Jones is now a much sought-after woman, known for her modelling work as well as acting. Jones’ acting career took off in the 2000's when she secured supporting roles in movies such as Anger Management, Love Actually, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. The actress’ most famous portrayal up until this point is her role as Betty Draper in Mad Men, a hit TV series which ran from 2007-2015. This is a role that catapulted Jones into the spotlight and gave her international recognition. Currently, the actress can be found starring in the Fox television show The Last Man on Earth, playing the character Melissa Chartres.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, the leggy blonde pop star we are all familiar with is very hard to recognize in this throwback childhood snap. This snap was taken shortly before Swift, born and raised in Pennsylvania, moved to Nashville at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. Soon enough, Swift got her big break and signed with Big Machine Records making her the youngest artist ever signed by the publishing house. The singer’s self-titled debut album was released in 2006 and went on to have huge chart success. Since this point, Swift has released the albums Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and very recently, Reputation, all of which have been more successful than the last. The singer has also managed to have a very successful transition from country music into pop music and is arguably the biggest pop star in the world at the moment.

Zac Efron

It’s safe to say that Zac Efron’s looks have changed dramatically since he was younger, mostly due to the fact that he no longer has his questionable childhood haircut. In fairness to the actor, we all go through some bad hair days as a kid. Since his youth, the actor has gone on to become a teen heartthrob and has now progressed to being one of the best-looking men around Hollywood. Efron began acting professionally in the early 2000's, with guest roles on several television series including Firefly, ER, and The Guardian. In 2004, he began appearing as a recurring character in the first season of the WB series Summerland. He rose to prominence in the late 2000's for his leading role in the High School Musical franchise (2006–2008). During this time, he also starred in the musical film Hairspray and the comedy film 17 Again. Some other notable movie appearances from the star include New Year’s Eve, The Lucky One, Neighbors, and Dirty Grandpa.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood with her pale skin and natural good looks. Nevertheless, the star wasn’t always as flawless as she is now and even tried out an over-the-top perm back in the day. Kidman began her acting career back home in Australia with the 1983 film Bush Christmas. However, her breakthrough came in 1989 with the thriller Dead Calm and the television miniseries Bangkok Hilton. In 1990, she made her Hollywood debut in the racing film Days of Thunder in which she starred opposite Tom Cruise. Kidman went on to achieve wide recognition and became a household name with leading roles in the romantic drama Far and Away, the superhero film Batman Forever, and the crime comedy-drama To Die For which earned the actress a Golden Globe Award.

Matthew Lewis

Matthew Lewis was known for playing the nerdy looking Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter franchise. When the series finished, Lewis appeared to disappear from the spotlight for a number of years, and when he re-emerged, nobody could believe the transformation the actor had made. That’s right, Lewis had turned into quite the handsome young man. Apart from appearing in all eight of the Harry Potter movies, the actor has appeared in the independent film The Sweet Shop and a five-part TV series called The Syndicate. In July of 2016, it was announced that Lewis is the star in a stage production called Unfaithful playing the character called Peter.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is one of the biggest movie stars in the world and has been the leading face of many hit movies. Nevertheless, the star is nearly unrecognizable in this adorable throwback snap with her glasses and cute smile. Roberts hit the big time in 1990 and became a Hollywood star after headlining the romantic comedy Pretty Woman, which grossed an incredible $464 million worldwide. Since then, Roberts has won three Golden Globe Awards (out of eight nominations) and has been nominated for four Academy Awards for her film acting, winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for her starring role in Erin Brockovich. Some of the actress’ other movie appearances include Mystic Pizza, Flatliners, Ocean’s Eleven, Mona Lisa Smile, Mirror Mirror, Eat Pray Love, Notting Hill, and Charlie Wilson’s War.

Rashida Jones

Another star who has changed significantly since their youth is actress Rashida Jones. It’s clear that Jones no longer requires her braces and has swapped her youthful wavy hair for smoother glossy locks. Jones is best known for playing Ann Perkins on the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation for which she received critical acclaim. Jones also briefly starred in the comedy series The Office and on the Fox drama series Boston Public. The actress is also known for her work in film, including roles in I Love You Man, The Social Network, Our Idiot Brother, The Muppets, and Celeste and Jessy forever, the latter of which she also co-wrote. As a screenwriter, Jones co-wrote the upcoming animated film Toy Story 4.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is hard to recognize in this pre-Hollywood makeover childhood photo. Although some of Cruise’s features are evident in the snap, there’s no doubt that he’s changed a lot since this point. Cruise is now one of Hollywood’s leading male stars and is adored by women all over the world. The actor made his first ever movie appearance in Endless Love when he was 19 years old. His career went from strength to strength from this point on. In 1983, he was part of the ensemble cast of The Outsiders. Also, that year, the actor appeared in All the Right Moves and Risky Business which has been described as a Generation X classic. This, along with 1986's Top Gun, cemented Cruise’s status as a Hollywood superstar. The star has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won three Golden Globe Awards.

Zooey Deschanel

It’s reassuring to see that Zooey Deschanel wasn’t always as effortlessly preppy and cool as she is now, and it offers hope to the rest of us. In fact, Deschanel just looked like a regular girl when she was growing up. The actress made her acting debut in a 1999 movie titled Mumford. The following year, the star had a supporting role in Cameron Crowe’s cult fan favorite Almost Famous. After this, the actress seemed to find her stride with deadpan comedy roles, appearing in numerous ones in the years that followed. Some of these movies include Elf, The New Guy, The Good Girl, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, 500 Days of Summer, Failure to Launch, and Yes Man. As of 2011, Deschanel has turned her attention to TV, starring as the quirky Jessica Day on the sitcom New Girl, a role that has earned the star an Emmy Award Nomination along with three Golden Globe nominations.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is still very recognizable as a young girl but has still changed a lot in the time since then. Stewart began her acting career in 1999 with uncredited roles and a minor character appearance in several small movies. It was in 2002 when the actress made her first notable appearance as Jodie Foster’s onscreen daughter in the thriller Panic Room. In the years that followed, Stewart continued her movie career making appearances in Speak, Catch That Kid, Zathura, and Into the Wild. It was in 2008 that Stewart became an international star when she won the role of Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise. The actress has also had a string of other prominent roles in the likes Adventureland, The Runaways, Snow White and the Huntsman, On the Road, Camp X-Ray, Still Alice, and Equals.

Jake Gyllenhaal

We would never have been able to place Jake Gyllenhaal in this snap if we didn’t know it was him in advance. The star was certainly a cute kid with his spiky hair and glasses, but we could never have believed this adorable kid would grow into the Hollywood A-lister he is today. Gyllenhaal began acting as a child star with a screen debut in City Slickers in 1991, followed by A Dangerous Woman in 1993 and Homegrown in 1998. It was in 1999 that the star gave his breakthrough performance in October Sky. Gyllenhaal followed this with his starring role in 2003’s Donnie Darko, a cult fan favorite. The actor has starred in a string of highly praised and successful movies including Zodiac, Brothers, Love & Other Drugs, Source Code, End of Watch, Prisoners, Enemy, South Paw, and Nocturnal Animals.

Chris Pratt

Next up, we have Chris Pratt who is really hard to place in this throwback snap of his teenage years. Not that long after this picture was taken, Pratt at 19 years old, was waiting tables at a restaurant in Maui when he was discovered by actress and director Rae Dawn Chong. Chong offered Pratt a role in her directorial debut Cursed Part 3, a movie that was filmed in Los Angeles. Pratt's first regular television role was as Harold Brighton "Bright" Abbott on the series Everwood. Pratt had a number of other TV roles but his most prominent one was his portrayal of Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation. Pratt is now a huge movie star and is best known for his roles as Peter Quill in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Owen Grady in Jurassic World, and Jim Preston in Passengers.

George Clooney

George Clooney is commonly considered one of the most handsome men in the world and is swooned over by women everywhere. You may be surprised to find out, however, that Clooney was not always such as looker. Yes, the awkward-looking kid in the picture above is Clooney himself, just many years ago and with a far less flattering haircut. Clooney made his acting debut in 1978 but later gained international recognition with his portrayal of Dr. Doug Ross on the hugely loved television drama series ER. Since this point, Clooney’s career has blown up even bigger, and he is now a big Hollywood movie star with two Academy Awards to his name as well as a Golden Globe and a BAFTA. In 2009, Time magazine named the actor one of the 100 most influential people in the world. It’s clear that both Clooney’s looks and career get better with age, so who knows what lies ahead for the star?

Megan Fox

Megan Fox is commonly considered to be one of the most attractive women in the world, which is why we almost can’t believe how much the actress has changed since she was a kid. Fox began her acting career in 2001, with several minor television and film roles, and played a regular role on the Hope & Faith. In 2004, she made her film debut with a role in the teen comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, a movie that also starred Lindsay Lohan. In 2007, Fox’s career was elevated to a new level when she was cast alongside Shia LaBeouf in Transformers. The actress reprised her role in the 2009 sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Later in 2009, she starred in the black comedy horror film Jennifer’s Body. Fox’s most recent movie appearances have been in 2014’s Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles and it’s 2016 sequel, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
