We can all agree that Kaley Cuoco is easily one of the hottest women in Hollywood. The former 8 Simple Rules star has made a name for herself on shows like Charmed and The Big Bang Theory and in countless films. In 2014, despite being only twenty-eight years old, Cuoco was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so basically, she’s set for life.
But even though we can’t deny that Cuoco is one of the hottest women out there or that her Big Bang Theory character, Penny, is the embodiment of many male nerd fantasies, Cuoco won’t be one of Hollywood’s hottest stars forever. The Big Bang Theory is losing its popularity as is Cuoco’s character, Penny, and even though the show has been renewed for two more seasons (HOW??), Cuoco can’t play the hot girl next door forever. (Well, actually, maybe she can. Are any of your neighbors that hot? No? Didn’t think so.) Especially not when there are so many fresh faces that are younger and even hotter.
As Kaley Cuoco resigns herself to yet another tired season of playing the same ditzy, pretty blonde who exists purely to fulfill nerdy male desires, let’s take a moment to remember all of the other, hotter women of Hollywood. Whether they’re musicians, models, actors, child stars grown up, or completely new to Hollywood, these up-and-coming ladies are gonna give Kaley Cuoco a run for her money.
15. Sophie Turner
Most well known for her role as Sansa Stark in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner has quickly become one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. Cast at the young age of thirteen, Sophie practically grew up on the set of Game of Thrones. Oddly enough, she turned out pretty normal. The actress has since then appeared in Barely Lethal and X-Men: Apocalypse, played the main character in The Thirteenth Tale and Another Me, as well as continued her role of Sansa Stark for every consecutive season of Game of Thrones. Even though next season of Game of Thrones will be the last, we’re confident that Sophie Turner will have no problem finding work after it ends. Whether it’s acting or modeling — a field she’s been exploring more and more recently — we’re excited to see her future projects.
Currently, the blonde is dating singer Joe Jonas — sorry, dudes.
14. Nina Dobrev
You’ve probably seen this lovely lady in Degrassi: The Next Generation or The Vampire Diaries. Born in Bulgaria, Nina moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of two and became a Canadian citizen. Dobrev was involved in the arts from a young age and landed her role in Degrassi: The Next Generation while still in school. She eventually left school in order to devote herself fully to her career. She left Degrassi: The Next Generation for a role in The Vampire Diaries, and though she left the show in 2005, it was announced earlier this year that she would appear in the series finale. Since leaving the series, Dobrev has appeared in Chloe, The Roommate, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let’s Be Cops, The Final Girls, Departures, Crash Pad, and XXX: Return of Xander Cage and will soon appear in Flatliners opposite Ellen Page.
13. Sarah Hyland
Most known for her role as Haley Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family, Sarah Hyland is easily one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. Hyland began her acting career at the age of seven when she played Howard Stern’s daughter in Private Parts. She went on to play Molly in the made-for-TV adaptation of Annie and Maddie Healy in Lipstick Jungle. She also appeared in Olive Garden commercials and briefly played young Jacqueline Bouvier in Grey Gardens on Broadway. In 2009, Hyland won the role of Haley Dunphy in Modern Family and has been on the show ever since. She and the rest of the cast won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in the Comedy section in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. Sarah Hyland has been nominated for numerous awards and won Comedy Actress at the Glamour Awards in 2014. Hyland has appeared in a couple other projects, but right now, it looks like she’s devoted to Modern Family.
12. Zoë Kravitz
No matter your orientation, we can all agree that Zoe Kravitz is smoking hot. The daughter of rockstar and sex-god Lenny Kravitz and The Cosby Show’s Lisa Bonet, Zoe landed her first film role while in high school, playing a babysitter in the rom-com No Reservations. Since then, Kravitz has enjoyed a successful film, modeling, and music career. She’s launched her own jewelry line and is currently a member of the band Lolawolf.
You may have seen Zoe in It’s Kind of a Funny Story, X-Men: First Class, Californication, After Earth, Divergent, Dope, Big Little Lies, and most recently, Rough Night, but she’s probably most memorable for her role as Toast the Knowing in Mad Max Fury Road. She and Dakota Fanning will both star in Vienna and the Fantomes later this year, and currently, she’s working on the film Black Belle, in which she plays a gunslinger in the Wild West.
11. Daisy Ridley
Daisy Ridley is a household name thanks to her role as Rey — but believe it or not, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was her first ever film role. Prior to Star Wars, Ridley was a university student who performed onstage in short films and made minor appearances in television shows. Star Wars became her Cinderella story — she went from being a uni student taking whatever work she could find to becoming the star of one of the world’s most popular franchises. Because of the overwhelming success of The Force Awakens, Daisy can now afford to pursue her passions and give her voice to causes she cares about. She produced and narrated the recently-released documentary The Eagle Huntress, and she’s set to appear in upcoming films such as Murder on the Orient Express, Chaos Walking, Kolma, A Woman of No Importance, The Lost Wife, and Ophelia. She’s also bought the film and television rights to the Maggie Hope novels and has started her own production company.
10. Hailee Steinfeld
Twenty-year-old Hailee Steinfeld is rapidly becoming one of the world’s hottest stars. Beginning her acting career at the age of eight, Hailee was cast as Mattie Ross in True Grit only a few years later. Since then, she’s enjoyed a successful film and modeling career. Her more notable roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Petra Arkanian in Ender’s Game, Emily Junk in Pitch Perfect 2, Megan Walsh in Barely Lethal (which also featured her good real-life friend, Sophie Turner), and Nadine Franklin in The Edge of Seventeen. Steinfeld is also a singer; after seeing some of her work from Pitch Perfect 2, Republic Records gave her a record deal. Steinfeld has since then released an EP, Haiz. She’s also appeared in music videos for Pentatonix, Cab, and most notoriously, Taylor Swift in Bad Blood.
9. Elle Fanning
Though many initially believed that Elle would live in the shadow of her talented child star sister, Dakota, it seems that the opposite has come true: while Dakota’s childhood fame has faded, Elle has come into her own as a shining star. Though Dakota’s own success definitely helped bolster that of her younger sister, it’s clear that Elle is a talented young woman who would have made it big regardless of help from her big sister. The nineteen-year-old has starred in countless films and currently has three that are in production, and she’s worked with directors such as Sofia Coppola, Francis Ford Coppola, J.J. Abrams, and Nicolas Winding Refn. Elle has also been nominated for a number of awards, including the Saturn Award, the Young Artist Award, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, the Teen Choice Award, the Scream Award, and the MTV Movie Award.
Despite only being twenty years old, Zendaya is one of the most successful — and most attractive — celebrities out there. Zendaya got her start modeling for Macy’s, Mervyns, and Old Navy. She appeared in a number of commercials and a Kidz Bop music video before she was cast in a Disney Channel show called Shake It Up. Her character, Rocky Blue, also appeared in Good Luck Charlie and a crossover show, Charlie Shakes It Up.
Zendaya featured in her first film, Frenemies, and released her first album around the same time. She then signed with Hollywood Records and shortly after became the then-youngest person to compete on Dancing with the Stars. Zendaya went on to star in another Disney Channel movie, Zapped, and another Disney Channel series, K.C. Undercover.
In addition to singing, dancing, and acting, Zendaya has also written a book, Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence.
7. Shailene Woodley
Most of you probably recognize Shailene Woodley for her starring roles in The Fault in Our Stars and the Divergent series. She’s also appeared in episodes of Crossing Jordan, The O.C., Everybody Loves Raymond, and My Name is Earl; additionally, she featured in The Secret Life of the American Teenager and, most recently, HBO’s hit series Big Little Lies, which has gotten a second season that Woodley is confirmed to be part of. What you may not know about the starlet is that not only is she an actor, but she’s also an activist. Though she claims she’s not a feminist, the actor has identified herself as an environmental activist. She supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election and joined the board of Our Revolution, an organization that seeks to educate voters. Also in 2016, Woodley protested the Dakota Access Pipeline. She was arrested for trespassing and pleaded guilty, earning one year in probation.
6. Nathalie Emmanuel
If you think Nathalie Emmanuel is sexy, you aren’t the only one. In 2015, FHM ranked her as the 75th (out of 100) Sexiest Woman of All Time.
Nathalie has something of a Cinderella story; even though she’d been in the West End’s production of The Lion King at the age of 10 and had featured in a couple of television shows and made-for-TV movies, that wasn’t enough for her to make a living, and she wound up working in a clothing shop. It was while working at this shop that Emmanuel received the call letting her know she had been cast in the HBO series Game of Thrones. Emmanuel plays the role of Missandei, Daenerys Targaryen’s loyal friend and advisor. Since then, Emmanuel has also appeared in Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious as well as Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
5. Taissa Farmiga
If you’re familiar with Vera Farmiga, then you may have heard of her younger sister, Taissa. The youngest of seven children, Taissa planned to become an accountant; however, Vera convinced her to appear in her directorial debut, Higher Ground. Encouraged by the rave reviews of her performance, Taissa joined a talent agency. During her first audition, she was immediately cast in American Horror Story. Taissa played leading roles in the first, third, and sixth seasons of American Horror Story: Murder House, Coven, and Roanoke, respectively. She went on to appear in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring, At Middleton, Mindscape, Jamesy Boy, The Final Girls, 6 Years, Wicked City, Rules Don’t Apply, In a Valley of Violence, Justice League vs. Teen Titans, as well as appeared off-Broadway in Buried Child. Her upcoming projects include We Have Always Lived in the Castle, What They Had, The Long Dumb Road, and The Nun.
4. Saoirse Ronan
Saoirse Ronan got her start earlier than most. Appearing in a handful of Irish television shows as a child, she got her break in Joe Wright’s Atonement where she played Keira Knightley’s meddlesome younger sister, Briony. After receiving rave reviews, Saoirse Ronan was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress, and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. At the age of thirteen, she remains, to date, one of the youngest people to ever be nominated for these awards.
Saoirse has enjoyed great success since Atonement, featuring in 2-3 films (on average) per year. Just a few of her films include City of Ember, The Lovely Bones, Byzantium, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Brooklyn. She also starred in the Broadway production of The Crucible as Abigail Williams. Her future projects include a film adaptation of The Seagull and playing the titular character in Mary, Queen of Scots.
3. Lily James
Every actor has his or her niche — for Lily James, it would appear to be period dramas. Educated at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Lily James began her acting career in a BBC film called Just William in 2010. She appeared in a number of stage productions in the ensuing two years, earning heaps of praise from theater critics. She began appearing in films at this time, with her first major film being Wrath of the Titans. Her first noteworthy role was in Downton Abbey as Lady Rose. Though she was only meant to be a guest character, the writers and director liked her so much that she became a central character in the ensuing seasons. Lily reached star status in 2015 when she played the titular character in Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella. The following year, she played Natasha Rostova in the BBC’s War and Peace, as well as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Interestingly enough, Matt Smith played Mr. Collins, Lizzie Bennet’s awkward cousin who has a crush on her; in real life, the two are dating.
2. Kaya Scodelario
Kaya Scodelario is a familiar face even if her name isn’t necessarily a familiar one. Kaya is probably most well known for her role as Effy Stonem in Skins. Interestingly enough, Kaya had no acting experience prior to Skins. Because of her inexperience and her dyslexia, the fourteen-year-old was so nervous at the audition that she almost left, but the auditioner encouraged her to continue. Because of her popularity, Effy was one of the only characters to appear from series one through series four.
After being cast in Skins, Kaya began modeling and taking on a number of films, including Clash of the Titans and a few music videos. In 2011, Kaya played Cathy in Wuthering Heights; after this, she featured in a number of films, eventually earning a spot in the Channel 4 series Southcliffe. She plays Teresa in the Maze Runner series; most recently, she played Carina in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
1. Riley Keough
Though her name may not sound familiar to you, you’ve probably seen Riley Keough more than you think. The daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, Riley is the granddaughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. This means that she was also, briefly, the stepdaughter of Michael Jackson.
Despite her musical family, Keough is a model and actor. She began her film career in the movie The Runaways and went on to feature prominently in The Good Doctor, Jack and Diane, Magic Mike, Yellow, Mad Max Fury Road, The Girlfriend Experience, Dixieland, and American Honey. Riley also featured in Justin Timberlake’s TKO music video.
While filming reshoots of Mad Max Fury Road, Riley met her now-husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, who was a stuntman and briefly played Coma Doof-Warrior.
Riley is set to appear in Welcome the Stranger, Logan Lucky, It Comes At Night, Hold the Dark, and The House That Jack Built.
