You may think of young female socialites, and immediately, the Jenner sisters come to mind. As they should: they are, indeed, gorgeous girls. Crazy antics aside, they are physically beautiful, and quite hot. Their older half-sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian are three more examples of famous American socialites, as are sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton. But there are so many more women out there who are also socialites, and who are far superior to the sisters Jenner, at least in terms of looks.
A socialite by definition, according to Merriam-Webster online, is "a person who is well known in fashionable society and is fond of social activities and entertainment." If you ask Urban Dictionary, the definition is a bit different, however. Their definitions range from a "no-talent sex video-making tramp" to "a rich b*tch who parties too damn much" to "a person who spends a lot of time visiting with and making ever-more friends and acquaintances. The socialite and his/her friends tend to be from 'high society' and therefore usually have lots of money and an appreciation for forms of 'high culture' such as the fine arts." You get the idea.
But I, for one, have seen enough of the same old Kardashians and Jenners, and am ready to discover some of the world's other young, hot socialites. If you want to see some fresh faces, check out the following 15 young ladies who are socialites, but much hotter than Kendall or Kylie, and many of them are just as successful in their own rights.
15 Alessandra Balazs
Alessandra Balazs is the daughter of Andre Balazs, who is the President and CEO of a number of hotels and residences across the United States. From 2011-2013, he dated Chelsea Handler, who almost became Alessandra's stepmom! Also in 2013, this pretty young socialite and hotel heiress was dating a pretty big name, herself: Russell Brand. This is interesting because both Alessandra's boyfriend Russell, and her father's girlfriend Chelsea are the same age (38 at the time). The camera-shy couple, Russell and Alessandra, quietly dated for months, and even went on vacation together, but in the end, they called it quits. The trendy it-girl, or so she has been called, definitely has a leg up on Kendall and Kylie Jenner though, in the looks department (and seemingly with men, too).
14 Amanda Hearst
Blonde beauty Amanda Hearst is the heiress to the Hearst Corporation, which is her great-grandfather William Hearst's media conglomerate. But in addition to being an heiress, she is many other things, such as an activist, model, and associate market editor at Marie Claire. She grew up attending a prestigious boarding school, then attended Boston College for a short time before dropping out to become a model. Later, she returned to college, this time at Fordham University, and graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in Art History. But it seems as if she got the best of both worlds, and went from being a cover model for magazines like International Harper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan to obtaining an editor position for a magazine that is just as relevant.
13 Caroline Vreeland
Instagram sensation Caroline Vreeland is one smoking hot socialite. Like many Instagram models, she looks just about perfect in every photo she takes (well, posts). She is the great-granddaughter of fashion icon Diana Vreeland, a legendary fashion editor who worked for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. It is easy to see why Caroline is so huge on social media; she has fashion in her blood, a body to die for, and pretty much does it all. She is a singer who has released several singles and appeared on American Idol season 12, she has a publishing company called Doomed Magic, and she is signed to Next Management modeling agency. Her 215,000 Instagram followers prove that she is a girl on fire.
12 Gaia Matisse
This is Gaia Matisse, and yes, that is "Matisse" as in the French painter, Henri Matisse; she is his great-great-granddaughter. She is also a Rich Kid of Instagram, if that says anything about her (it does). Her parents were artists too, and she was born outside of Paris, and spent her childhood in art museums and galleries. However, nowadays she is more likely to be seen partying with fellow socialite Paris Hilton or walking in a show at New York Fashion Week with Tiffany Trump than meandering around some stuffy old art museum. She was arrested twice (she will divulge no more details than that), and got her first fake I.D. in the ninth grade. Needless to say, she is a far cry from her ancient ancestor Henri, and is making the name Matisse something all her own.
11 Hannah Bronfman
Hannah Bronfman started out life as the daughter of former Warner Brother's head honcho, Edgar Bronfman, but in her 28 years thus far, she has become so much more than that. Not allowing privilege to be all that she is, Hannah is also a DJ, model, fitness coach, and entrepreneur who lives in Manhattan. Additionally, she is an investor for multiple restaurants. Half African-American and half Jewish-Canadian, she is also stunning physically. Add to her beautiful coloring the fact that she is a fitness guru and the co-founder of a beauty app (so she obviously knows her stuff in that department), and Hannah Bronfman is one hot tamale.
10 Julia Stakhiva
Julia Stakhiva is a Ukrainian bombshell who is famous for, among other things, having a 1.5 million Euro wardrobe. She made headlines last year when she said that she had never realized until she went to college that some people could not afford designer bags and shoes (make that most people, and being from Russia, shouldn't that be more than obvious?). Receiving her first Louis Vuitton bag at the tender age of nine, Julia grew up thinking her way of life was the norm. Born to billionaire parents who continue to fund the 24-year-old's unimaginably expensive wardrobe, Julia says she is sometimes hated for being rich, but that she did not choose it; she was born into it. She said in one interview that she travels by plane to Moscow for haircuts, and there they shut down the salon for her and serve her champagne. She has spent in excess of $200,000 on cosmetic procedures, including a boob job.
9 Lydia Hearst
Socialite Lydia Hearst is the cousin of Amanda Hearst (see number 13 on this list). Like her cousin, she is the heiress to the media conglomerate and publishing fortune Hearst Corporation, which was established by their maternal great-grandfather. But Lydia is also a model, actress, and lifestyle blogger. Hailing from Connecticut, Lydia has been featured on the covers of magazines in Italy, France, Korea, Japan, Latin America, and the United States. She has modeled for Prada, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, DKNY, and several more internationally famous brands. Before launching her lifestyle blog, she worked as a columnist for a magazine that came in the Sunday edition of the New York Post. In August 2016, she married actor and comedian Chris Hardwick, and the newlyweds now live in Pasadena, California.
8 Meggie Kempner
Meggie Kempner is the granddaughter of socialite and fashionista Nan Kempner, who was hot on the fashion scene in New York City for more than 40 years. Now Meggie has a fashion label of her own, and it is inspired by her grandma Nan. We already talked about Caroline Vreeland, whose grandmother was Diana Vreeland. Diana once said, "There are no chic women in America. The one exception is Nan Kempner." That is quite the compliment, and it is no wonder, then, that Meggie is following in her footsteps. The young designer runs her label, Kempner, with the help of her brother Chris, who handles the business aspect of it. The siblings are part of one of New York's prominent banking dynasty families, the Loebs.
7 Olivia Palermo
Olivia Palermo first became relevant in 2008, after being cast on the reality show The City, which followed the personal and professional lives of Whitney Port and company. Olivia is the daughter of Douglas E. Palermo, a real estate developer. She went to school in New York City, played on the field hockey team, attended college in Paris for a year, and then studied media at The New School in New York. She earned $12,000 per episode of The City, which was a spin-off of MTV's The Hills. Olivia is also an actress and model, and participates in the charity event circuit in New York. Now she is married to a German model, but a few years ago she was involved in a scandal over a letter she allegedly wrote to her fellow socialites pleading for acceptance, which resulted in a lawsuit against the social website that published it.
6 Yekaterina Putina
Yes, that would be the daughter of Russian President, Vladimir Putin. There is actually very little that is known about his family, and only in recent years have his daughters' names even been revealed (they are Mariya and Yekaterina Putina). Putin says he wants to protect his family from the spotlight, but keeping with the traditional ways of Communism in which the lives of the leaders were shrouded in secrecy, that may also have something to do with it. There are not even official photos of the two daughters, although this one of Yekaterina was published in 2010 in South Korea and has since circulated the internet. The young women live in Moscow, and Yekaterina, the younger of the two, was reportedly set to marry the son of a South Korean admiral, but that is the last anyone heard of things. Putin has done an excellent job, especially in this age of social media, protecting his family from being recognized.
5 Tamara Ecclestone
Tamara Ecclestone is a British socialite who is also a model, television personality, and the daughter of billionaire Bernie Ecclestone. Now married and going by the name of Tamara Ecclestone Rutland, she was born to her model mother and her father, the former chief executive of the Formula One Group. She studied at the Francis Holland School in London, and went on to star in her very own reality television show, aptly titled Tamara Ecclestone: Billion $$$ Girl. Before marrying Jay Rutland in 2013, Tamara was engaged to Jonathan Ketterman in 2002, but he was found guilty of attempting to blackmail her. Jay and Tamara now have one daughter named Sophia, and the family lives in their 45 million Euro home in Kensington Palace Gardens.
4 Julie Henderson
The lovely Julie Henderson first became famous for appearing in Sports Illustrated as a woman who, while undeniably sexy, also retained a girl-next-door sort of look. Now, she is prominent in the New York social scene, supporting charities like the New York Botanical Garden and New Yorkers for Children. A Houston native, Julie has appeared in advertisements for Pantene, Hardee's, and Benetton. She is signed to the modeling agencies Models 1, Modelwerk, New York Model Management, and Ford Models Europe- Paris. In the past, she has been in Elle Girl, Teen Vogue, and modeled on the television show Behind the Velvet Rope. She was in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue from 2007-2010.
3 Alyssa Coscarelli
This lovely lady in white is Alyssa Coscarelli. She is a cute, young fashionista who now calls New York City home, although she grew up in various cities in Florida and Georgia. But she is not just a socialite; Alyssa works as a fashion writer for Refinery29 where she manages the company's Instagram account. She has a kick-ass personal style around the clock, even when she is not at her day job (which is also her dream job, since she loves all things fashion). She has a fluffy white bunny named Bean that she brings everywhere with her, and who makes plenty of appearances with his mommy. Since Alyssa has 46,000 followers, Bean is almost just as famous as his mommy! It is hard to tell who is cuter, though.
2 Lauren Remington Platt
Like many socialites on this list and everywhere, Lauren Remington Platt has a love of fashion, and it is a big part of her life. In the above photo, she wears Ralph Lauren Collection cream suede over-the-knee boots, and she looks stunning in them. She launched her business Vensette, which is a website and app featuring bi-coastal in-home hair and makeup services in under 90 minutes. It is a members-only site that lets its users select from pre-styled hair and makeup options beginning at $250 for in-home service. Before that, she worked in finance at a hedge fund. She graduated from Columbia University in 2006, and lives in the West Village in New York City. She considers her own personal style "conservative with a touch of irreverence", and veers toward classic Italian designers like MaxMara, Loro Piana, Valentino, and Armani.
1 Tali Lennox
And last but not least, we have 25-year-old Tali Lennox, the daughter of Scottish singer Annie Lennox and Israeli record producer Uri Fruchtmann. Although she found success as a model, artist, and actress, three years ago in 2014, Tali made the decision to scale back on all of that to become a portrait painter. She has modeled for Prada and Miu Miu, among other major brands. She has also experienced personal tragedy. In 2015, she lost her longtime boyfriend, American artist and model Ian Jones, when their kayak capsized on the Hudson River. Tali was rescued by nearby boaters, but Ian was not so lucky. His body was found and identified days later, and his cause of death was ruled drowning, and accidental.
