Mothers and daughters fight.

Maybe the mother caught her daughter sneaking out of the home, at a party, or wearing provocative clothing. Or maybe the daughter hates her mom's rules, restrictions, and narrow mindset.

They just don't see eye to eye. However, after an argument or two, the duo forgive and forget. Their spats are unimportant, so why bicker over the little things? They don't need to sweat the small stuff.

If they're on television, the notion of forgiving and forgetting is easier said than done. The press and paparazzi will publish articles online about the rift (like the one you're reading now), or they'll shove cameras in their faces while asking about their familial arguments. The incessant buzz surrounding their tiffs are amplified to the max, and the attention can harm the mother-daughter dynamic.

However, if the mothers and daughters choose public lifestyles, then they should expect coverage on their quarrels. In a perfect world, their contentions would remain private. They're not living in a perfect world, though. American men and women are attached to their electronic devices, especially their Smartphones, so they're one click away from finding out about Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian's spat, Krista Keller and Courtney Stodden's problems, or Shar and Cassie Jackson's co-dependency. When they read about the celebrities, they're reminded that all mothers and daughters have issues, even the ones in the limelight.

15. 'Cash Me Ousside!' - Barbara Ann

Danielle Bregoli, dubbed as the "Cash Me Ousside" girl, was beaten by her own mother, Barbara Ann. A video surfaced on World Star Hip Hop of Bregoli's mom (in just her undergarments) tackling her 13-year-old teenager, calling her names, and harassing the Internet sensation.

A few months ago, the mother and daughter appeared on Phil McGraw's show because Bregoli was assertive, aggressive, and rebellious. She was too much for her mother to handle, but the mother was too much for Bregoli to handle. The grown woman wanted help for her daughter, but it cannot be denied that she needed help too. Their relationship was and is extremely harmful, and they should use Bregoli's money to mend their broken bond. The mother should take action, not inflict abuse.

14. Krista Keller-Courtney Stodden's Love Triangle

Courtney Stodden was the 16-year-old girl who married the 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison, mainly known for his role in The Green Mile. Their love was just as shocking as her mother Krista Keller's reaction. The grown woman eagerly signed her daughter's marriage certificate, and she was happy her daughter was marrying a man older than her biological father.

The pair had problems from the start, obviously. Their relationship was unhealthy, and Keller made the fact crystal clear when she said, "He was asking me to stay there with him and saying that he's had fantasies of having both Courtney and me."

Gag.

Keller proceeded to reveal an admission just as twisted as the first. She talked about the emotional intimacy she and Hutchison shared. She was even in love with him. "There was concern that [I could perhaps fall in love with him] if we continued on being so dependent on each other," she admitted. Stodden was visibly upset about the entire affair, and the relationship she had with her mother was deeply scarred. They tried repairing their bond on a televised reality show, but the on-camera therapist could only do so much.

Keller and Stodden were already on rocky terms, but their rehab stint made a mockery of their relationship's toxicity. They needed to seek professional help, not aired exploitation.

13. Shar-Cassie Jackson's Grave Situation

Shar and Cassie Jackson had a loving bond, but they acted more like sisters. They confided in each other always, but they were lacking healthy boundaries.

When Jackson's former boyfriend, Kevin Federline, cheated on her, broke up with her, and left her heart shattered, she cried on the shoulder of her daughter. The mother's grief was a burden for her daughter to carry, so she suffered enormous amounts of anxiety.

They were an embodiment of a co-dependent relationship and they were both at their breaking point. When they appeared on The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, their petty arguments were really placed in perspective. On the show, the two were put in an uncomfortable exercise. Jackson had to face her daughter's fake grave, and she realized the importance of her daughter's life.

"This exercise is absolutely my worst nightmare ever," she said. Jackson was in tears throughout the exercise, but she survived the experience a stronger woman, a stronger mom.

12. Kris Jenner-Kim Kardashian Crap

Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian were the queens of their households, so they were unfamiliar with the dirty work, like cleaning fecal matters. In 2014, the women were subjected to their worst nightmare: dog poop. Kendall Jenner's puppy, Blu, had used marble floors as his personal toilet.

Feces were everywhere, but Jenner was busy modeling, and the housekeeper wasn't on speed dial. The doyennes were stuck in a crappy situation and neither woman wanted to clean the mess.

Their frustration led to an argument before Jenner got gloves, a few spray bottles, and several loads of towels, but Kardashian helped, too. She sprayed perfume in the air before she scurried away. As she ran from the room, Jenner yells, "[You're a] piece of s---!"

Ironic!

11. 'Teen Mom' in a Mother

Farrah Abraham and her mother, Debra Danielsen, are always engaged in catfights. Before the franchise aired, Abraham's 16 and Pregnant episode showed the duo screaming at each other in Danielsen's car. Danielsen slapped Abraham during their contention, and the scene was just the first of many blowouts to come.

Abraham's own daughter, Sophia, was just a baby then. She's in grade school now, but she's still not used to her mother and grandmother's fits of rage. The 7-year-old watched her maternal guardians bicker in the kitchen area. They were arguing about arguing. They've been in countless talk show therapies, but have they ever tried private counseling?

Abraham's main issue stemmed from the domestic violence inflicted by Danielsen. Abraham's face was bruised, and the police were involved. Danielsen denied Abraham's accusations. Abraham's physical scars healed, but her emotional scars were never addressed. She's still in obvious pain.

10. Mother-Daughter Custody Catastrophe

Jenelle Evans and her mother Barbara, are known for their roles in Teen Mom 2. Like Abraham and Danielsen, the pair are always at each other's throats.

In the beginning, Evans' drug use and volatile romances were the main sources of concern. Her mother was genuinely worried not just for her daughter, but for her grandson, Jace, too. Evans spent years in a downward spiral, and she was either in the drama of drugs or derelicts. She wasn't financially or emotionally stable to raise another human being, so she gave her mother temporary custody of Jace.

The young woman was unfit then, but she's in a healthy state of mind now. She's sober now and seems to be in a loving relationship with her beau David Eason. They commenced their love with the birth of their daughter Ensley Jolie.

Her little family was almost complete, but she still needed to gain full custody of her firstborn. However, her mother needed more time. Evans was extremely distressed. "Give him back to me, because it's been six years! I want to know why am I not allowed to have my son back? Why can I not have custody? Please tell me. I want to know a reason right now," she demanded. Her mother said the main reason was Eason's controlling behavior, yet Evans' mother failed to recognize the hypocrisy.

9. Hot Messes of 'The Hills'

Heidi Montag's career flourished eleven years ago. However, The Hills actress is in the tabloids less than Paris Hilton now.

But she was in the media again just last year. She and her mother, Darlene Egelhoff, made an appearance on the reality series The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition. They were there to fix their relationship. Montag was upset because her mother was emotionally unavailable during her plastic surgery endeavors, and the reality star cried, complained, and vomited (both words and alcohol) during her time on the show.

"It honestly felt like you ripped my heart out of my soul when I needed you so badly," she said. Montag went under the knife ten different times in one day in 2010, and Egelhoff was extremely disappointed in Montag's choices. The mother believed her daughter was too beautiful for cosmetic surgeries, and she was perplexed by Montag's decision, so she became distant. However, she apologized to her daughter.

8. A Transitional Tiff

Caitlyn Jenner, née Bruce Jenner, transitioned in 2015 and her news made national headlines. She shocked Americans everywhere, but she shocked her family even more. Her children had a difficult time adjusting to their parent's decision, and they were torn between her joy and her ex-wife's pain. Khloé Kardashian seemed the most affected. She and Jenner were in an argument over Kris Jenner. While the reality star wanted to protect her mother, the Olympic medalist wanted protection too. She slandered her ex-wife in the process, though, and Kardashian was extremely upset. She said,

"You slaughtered my mother, and you have the nerve to say, 'What happened to family sticking together?' I said, 'You jumped that ship as soon as you did Diane Sawyer, and you attacked my mom!'"

The businesswoman felt like Jenner was bashing her biological mother, and she was just defending her. Jenner felt attacked by Kardashian, so she responded with the same level of animosity. She said, "Shut up and get a life!"

The pair were in a discord heavier than their spat before Kardashian's wedding to her ex-husband Lamar Odom. However, like their previous argument, they resolved their issues with conversation. Communication is key.

7. 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' - Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, seem like they're at a crossroads in their relationship. Gomez and her new boyfriend, The Weeknd, have been dating for a few months, but Teefey disproves of her daughter's romance.

"Mandy has heard the dirty and drug-related lyrics to [The Weeknd's] songs and she doesn't approve of Selena hanging out and partying with him. Mandy has met [The Weeknd] and thinks he is respectful in person, but she doesn't think he's a good influence on Selena," a source says.

The unnamed individual also said how Teefey's urging her daughter to break up with The Weeknd, but Gomez followed her heart, instead. Her heart wants what it wants, after all.

6. Karen-Natalie Nunn: 'Bad Girls'

Natalie Nunn's famous for starring in the Bad Girls Club, but she's also famous for starring in The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition with her mother Karen.

They had a few issues in their relationship. Nunn had resentment toward her mother because she grew up with a best friend, not a mom.

Nunn remembered when she and her mother talked about Nunn's sex life. "My mom would call and ask, 'How was last night?' And I'd be like, 'I had the best sex in the world! Let me tell you!' My friend would be like, 'I can't believe you talk to your mom like that!'"

The show showed the women in a few fights every episode, but their arguments were necessary. They needed to relieve their anger, somehow.

5. Tokyo Toni-Blac Chyna's Beef

Blac Chyna gave birth to her little girl, Dream, last year, and she was even engaged to Rob Kardashian, Kris Jenner's only son. She had fame, fortune, and her family, but one person was missing from her life.

Her mother, Tokyo Toni, was on ill terms with the businesswoman. "According to Bossip, Tokyo's been driving across the country, hosting food drives for the homeless and has been upset that her reality star daughter hasn't been helping her out. Tokyo says that while her own daughter hasn't been supportive of her charitable efforts, her soon-to-be-son-in-law, Rob, has helped out," an article relayed.

The mother and daughter fight, but they're still tight. The mother released an Instagram video about how she and her daughter are on amicable terms again. "I'm a mom, and things happen," she clarified.

4. Gladys Mortensen-Marilyn Monroe's Bombshell

Marilyn Monroe and her mother, Gladys Mortensen, had a very strained relationship. While Monroe was worshipped for her beauty, she only cared about her mother's devotion. She wanted her mother's affections, but Mortensen was unable to give Monroe the love she deserved.

"Gladys didn't hug, kiss or smile. She was delusional, and she heard voices from electrical appliances. She was antisocial and unable to express any emotion, except anger," Monroe's niece, Mona Rae Miracle, said. Mortensen suffered from schizophrenia, and she was even hospitalized for a few years of Monroe's life. Monroe never healed from her emotional scars, so she just told everyone her mother was dead.

Throughout their lives, they were involved in a very tumultuous relationship, and Monroe turned to men, sex, and drugs to fill the gaping hole in her own heart. May the icon rest in peace.

3. Joan Crawford-Christina Crawford's Double Life

Joan and Christina Crawford's mother-daughter dynamic was extremely volatile.

The mother verbally and physically abused her daughter, and she was just 13-year-old when she believed her mother hated her. "Her mother grabbed her by the throat, punched her in the face and slammed her head against the floor. 'You never forget that. It was up close and personal. She came this far from my face, and you could see it in her eyes, you can see if someone is trying to kill you,'" the author recalled.

After Crawford's death, her daughter published her memoir, Mommie Dearest, an autobiographical book about how she survived Crawford's abuse. Hollywood viewed the star as beautiful, intelligent, and fierce.

But Crawford was just fierce, and her daughter suffered under her ferocity.

2. Chrystal Workman-Ariel Winter's Rift

Modern Family actress, Ariel Winter, accused her mother of abuse, and the starlet was granted emancipation as a result.

"It has been very sad for me, but at the same time it's been much better for me emotionally and physically," the actress said.

Her older sister, Shanelle Workman, has guardianship of the teenager right now, so the young woman will be able to live in a healthier and happier environment.

1. Nancy Dow-Jennifer Aniston's Conflict

Jennifer Aniston is Hollywood's typical, beautiful girl next door. However, she grew up in a very atypical home (kind of like Rachel's character did on Friends). Her mother, Nancy Dow, was extremely "critical" and "petty," according to Aniston.

While the pair have worked on their relationship since 2005, Dow was still uninvited to Aniston's 2015 wedding to Justin Theroux.

It seems time doesn't always heal wounds.
