15 Things Chloe Grace Moretz Doesn't Want Us To Know About Her Past

I’m sure a lot of people can agree that Chloe Grace Moretz is one of those actresses that you simply don’t know how to categorize. Sure, she’s drop dead gorgeous, but you still think of her as the young kid from the first Wimpy Kid movie several years ago. Yes, she seems very intelligent for an actress her age, but then again, she does hang out with people like Kristen Stewart. And while you don’t know if you want to date her, hang out with her, or worship her, she’s out and about with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckham (which is a relationship that we are still trying to figure out).

But then again, this is the same chick that impressed us during her breakout movie, Kick-A*s. She went on to star in several movies, such as Clouds of Sils Maria, Girl Rising, Carrie, Brain on Fire, Dark Places and so many more. That is pretty impressive for a girl who is only 20 years old.

However, there are plenty of things that Chloe Grace Moretz is hiding from her fans about her past. There are a lot of things she wants to keep buried, but fortunately we’ve listed them here.

15 Her Feud With The Kardashians

via: youtube.com

If there’s one thing you don’t want to do, it’s starting a war of words with the Kardashian family. Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that they basically are the most influential celebrities in the entertainment world right now. Plus, they have a billion fans who will tear you down if you even dare shoot a bad look their way. Chloe found herself in the middle of a Twitter spat with Khloe Kardashian back in the summer of 2016.

After Kimye made headlines for their feud with Taylor Swift, Chloe tweeted, “Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant. Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world." Khloe then proceeded to share a NSFW photo of Chloe and wrote “Is this the hole you are referring to?” Ouch. She also criticized Kim Kardashian for her revealing selfie.

14 Miley Cyrus Swiped One Of Her Roles

via: twitter.com

It’s no secret that Miley Cyrus is a household name here and abroad. She is one of the biggest singers and actors thanks to her radio hits and of course, her controversial behavior and barely-there ensembles. You can even say that Miley is in another league compared to Chloe Grace Moretz. And that might be the reason why Miley swiped a huge film role away from Chloe.

Back in 2008, Chloe recorded her role for the hit animated film, Bolt. But unfortunately, producers thought that Miley would be a better fit the role and used her instead. Even though Chloe had completed the entire film on her own, they erased all of her work and used Miley’s voice in the film instead. Yikes. That must've hurt.

13 Her Relationship With Kristen Stewart

via: dailymail.co.uk

Chloe Grace Moretz wants to be taken seriously in Hollywood. After all, she is very picky about the roles she chooses and is very careful about every decision that she makes. She doesn’t make movies simply because she wants to cash in a Hollywood paycheck every few months. Instead, she wants to be recognized as a talented actress and of course, for her dedication and her efforts.

With that being said, a lot of people can’t help but wonder why someone like Chloe would hang out with the likes of Kristen Stewart. The two women come from totally different worlds. Kristen is all about provoking the media while Chloe does whatever it takes to control her image. Yet, it wouldn’t surprise us if Kristen’s bad girl persona rubbed off a little on Chloe.

12 She Didn’t Let The Industry Ruin Her

via: imgur.com

It’s no secret that we’ve seen plenty of child actors take the bait in Hollywood. A lot of them barely make it past their twenties (career wise) just because they can’t deal with the insane amount of pressure they get from working in the industry. But according to Chloe Grace Moretz, she didn’t let that happen to her. She was very focused about knowing what she wanted from the get-go and unlike other child actors (like Lindsay Lohan) she didn’t let the industry destroy her, either. After all, she’s one of few that are still standing on their feet.

One of the reasons why Chloe has managed to last is because she has a strong foundation behind her. Her family has been by her side and they have supported her with each movie she’s made. Plus, they also help manage her career and keep her feet firmly on the ground.

11 She Was Fat Shamed By A Co-Star

via: instagram.com

This might be hard to believe, but Chloe admitted not too long ago that she was once fat shamed by a co-star when she was a teen. I mean, this girl is drop-dead gorgeous, she’s got millions of fans from all over the world, yet her co-star thought it would be a good idea to rip her to pieces because of her body? What is wrong with the world?!

She explained, “This guy that was my love interest was like, 'I'd never date you in real life,' and I was like, 'What?' And he was like, 'Yeah, you're too big for me' – as in my size. It was one of the only actors that ever made me cry on set," she said. "I went bawling to my brother and he was like, 'What happened?' And I was like, 'He told me I was too big.' And my brother was like, 'What just happened?' My brother was so angry."

10 She Pretends To Be British

via: pinterest.com

Even though she was born and raised in the south (Atlanta, Georgia to be exact), Chloe has admitted that she sometimes pretends to be British during her auditions. And that’s because she thinks that by faking a British accent she’ll be taken more seriously. Now, many of her fans might think that’s odd but at the same time, have you heard some of the British accents Americans fake on the big screen? Chloe’s is actually pretty decent in comparison.

Plus, Chloe takes her work very seriously. She doesn’t want to end up like another Lindsay Lohan in the industry. She once said, “I actually work at my craft, and I actually want to be the best in my category, and I want to be a true actress. And a lot of people just want fame, and there's a huge difference.”

9 “It” Girl Status

via: instagram.com

For the longest time, Hollywood tried to brand Chloe Grace Moretz as the new “it” girl of the entertainment industry. Sadly, it never really happened the way her producers and publicists had expected. Sure, she has A-list recognition and she’s appeared it quite a few successful films. But according to her critics, she still has a long way to go before she is the next Emma Watson or Natalie Portman.

One of the reasons why Chloe doesn’t get the same recognition or attention as some other actresses her age is because she’s so picky about her roles. But her fans have defended her saying that’s not a bad thing. Either way, a lot of people are still waiting for Chloe to take the next step in her career.

8 Her Relationship With Brooklyn Beckham

via: instagram.com

Chloe Grace Moretz doesn’t like to talk about her personal life but for years she’s been on and off with her boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckham. And they make it no secret that they are into each other. The only problem though is that Chloe’s home base is in Studio City, California while Brooklyn splits his time between London and New York City.

One reason why a lot of people think Brooklyn and Chloe have a hard time making their relationship work is because, let’s face it, he’s a Beckham. It has to be extremely intimidating trying to impress or fit in with your boyfriend’s parents knowing that they are two of the biggest international stars in the world. Plus, Brooklyn does seem like the mama’s boy type. It has to be extremely intimidating being around someone like Victoria.

7 She’s A Closet Diva

Chloe might look like one of the more down-to-earth actresses in Hollywood, but it looks like she’s no different than her friends and her co-stars. In fact, she’s even admitted that she loves wearing designer name brands on the red carpet. She might only be 21 years old, but she’s addicted to couture. But then again, who wouldn’t be, right?

Chloe has also become somewhat of a style icon. She’s also modeled for plenty of brand names like Coach, which is something she absolutely loves to do. Plus, she’s addicted to good shoes. She once told a journalist during a press junket, “I wore my first pair of Louboutins during this press tour. It was absolutely amazing, they weren't heels, they were little shoes, but they were velvet and they were blue.”

6 She Has Secret Crushes

via: pinterest.com

Chloe is one actress that doesn’t like to talk about her personal life. But she sure as heck does love to talk about her secret crushes. She once admitted that she had a huge crush on Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling. She even said that she would love to do nothing more than just drive around Hollywood with Ryan by her side. And can you blame her? The man is the full package. There aren’t many actors that can compare to him.

It’s very typical for young girls like Chloe to talk about their crushes. But at the same time, a lot of Chloe’s fans can’t help but wonder why she is so quiet whenever it comes to talking about Brooklyn Beckham. Could it be because he’s slightly younger than her? Or that she simply doesn’t take him very seriously? That’s what fans want to know.

5 Red Shoes And The 7 Dwarves Scandal

via: pinterest.com

Sadly, Chloe has been involved in another body-shaming incident. Just recently, she was forced to distance herself after finding herself in the middle of a controversial ad for her upcoming film, Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarves.

The ads depicted a tall and slim woman in red heels next to a shorter, fat woman holding a pair of red heels in her hands. Chloe responded with, “Please know I have let the producers of the film know. I lent my voice to a beautiful script that I hope you will all see in its entirety. The actual story is powerful for young women and resonated with me. I am sorry for the offence that was beyond my creative control."

4 She Refused To Promote Her Latest Film

via: instagram.com

Chloe Grace Moretz recently made a decision that a lot of actresses her age wouldn’t dare do. According to reports, she refused to promote her latest film, I Love You, Daddy. That’s because the film was directed by controversial comedian, Louis C.K., who also starred alongside Chloe in the film. The film’s premiere was canceled only moments after it was reported that Louis C.K. behaved inappropriately with female comedians, not once, not twice, but several times over the years.

Chloe clearly has her standards. After all, she’s made it no secret that she’s a staunch feminist. While she hasn’t said it, many of her fans know that she wouldn’t have signed on for the project if she knew about the Louis C.K. allegations beforehand. She refuses to work with sleazy Hollywood people and, of course, promote films with them.

3 She’s Not Sure About The Future

via: instagram.com

Chloe is a very headstrong actress who knows what she wants, when she wants it. But at the same time, she has her doubts about the future. And she definitely has her doubts about love and her relationships, too. That’s because she’s still learning to navigate a few things when it comes to love herself.

But then again, Chloe is so young. She still has so much to learn, both professionally and personally. The last thing she needs to do is move too fast. She’s said, “When you're in relationships with people, not every relationship is the same and not every love that you find is the same. The love that you get from each person is totally different. You learn, from each relationship, that there are many different ways that you can love someone.”

2 She Bans Her Friends From Her Film Sets

via: instagram.com

Chloe takes her work so seriously that she does whatever it takes to separate her personal life from her professional life. As a matter of fact, she’s even banned her best friends from the sets of some of her movies simply because she doesn’t want to be distracted while she works. That, and she doesn’t want anyone to think that she’s another one of those social media celebrities who cares more about their Instagram likes and popularity than their work on the big screen.

She said, “A lot of people are like, 'So you want to be famous.' And I'm like, 'No, I want to be good at my craft. I don't care about fame, I don't care if I even ever make it. As long as people know what I am as an actress in this business, I'm set for my career right now.'”

1 Her Brother Manages Her Career

via: instagram.com

A lot of people would agree that getting your family involved with your business is a recipe for disaster. But that’s not the case for Chloe Grace Moretz. Because her entire family is so supportive, she can count on them to help her every step of the way. Her brother Trevor is even her acting coach and her mentor. And while that’s a great thing now, many people can’t help but wonder how long Trevor will last by his sister’s side (we’ve all heard those sibling rivalry stories, right?).

Chloe one said, “My brother Trev went to the Professional Performing Arts School in New York, and he used to do his monologues and stuff and rehearse in our apartment. So I used to hear him all the time doing these things over and over and over. And when I was a little girl, I used to soak up everything – like anything anyone did, I soaked it up.”
