Why ruin a good thing?  To the general public, most celebrities look absolutely perfect in every way, but vanity can be a dangerous downfall, especially for people who live their lives in the spotlight. In the midst of society’s obsession with beauty and perfection, celebrities are under relentless pressure to look picture-perfect at all times. Although most of us may cringe when the words "celebrity" and "plastic surgery" are put together in the same sentence, plastic surgery can actually be a good thing for many people. It can work wonders for accident victims, burn victims, people with birth defects, and even help people gain confidence in their day-to-day lives through correcting minor flaws in their appearance that can be a constant blow to one's self-esteem.

Though sometimes, people, and more often than not, celebrities, abuse the power of these amazing medical procedures in their constant strive towards physical perfection. For many celebrities, plastic surgery has become an obsession and addiction. They keep going under the knife in hopes of attaining beauty, and for many of them, this quest to look like the Photoshopped versions of themselves doesn’t turn out as planned. Celebrities' obsession with beauty all too commonly ends in a real life version of plastic surgery nightmares, as is the case with the celebrities on this list of 15 stars who need to be on Botched.

Carrot Top

With his signature mess of wild curly red hair, comedian Carrot Top (also known as: Scott Thompson) is a comedy icon known for his distinct look. Although he has been accused of undergoing plastic surgery and abusing steroids in the past, the comedian scoffs at such rumors and doesn’t admit to having plastic surgery on either his face or his body. But his heavily altered appearance says otherwise. “People think I’ve had plastic surgery — no, it just takes a lot of makeup to make me look good,” the comedian joked on an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now?  Wait, what kind of makeup are you using? It must be laced with Botox 'cause, regardless of his denial, Carrot Top's not fooling anyone. Shocking facial changes like these can only be the result of bad plastic surgery in large quantities.

Heidi Montag

This former reality TV beauty admits to having multiple surgeries, and also admits to regretting having them done. Back in 2010, The Hills star Heidi Montag had an astounding 10 procedures done in one day. Her many cosmetic alterations include a chin reduction, brow lift, ear augmentation, lipo, and an excessive breast augmentation that gave her a size-F chest. Then in 2014, she had her breast implants taken out, reducing them from F-cups to C-cups. After the reduction surgery, Heidi told Us Weekly, "They felt like bowling balls on my chest. I felt inappropriate. Guys would stare at me really creepily and felt they had the right to because I had such big boobs. My doctor told me they were falling through the bottom, and I got scared. It's super dangerous. They can fall through to your belly button!" Hopefully this nearly disastrous augmentation has put a stop to Heidi's nip-tuck addiction.

Tara Reid

This used-to-be blonde bombshell, best known for her roles in American Pie, and more recently Sharknado, went under the knife in 2004 for liposuction and a breast implant procedure, and it ended in disaster for Tara Reid's appearance as well as her career. Reid revealed to CBS News that her surgery left her with deformed nipples and rippled skin, and as a result, the actress found it tough to score a job after her plastic surgery. "My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing," she said. "I had a hernia, this huge bump next to my belly button. As a result, I couldn't wear a bikini. I lost a lot of work." Tara had the procedures reversed in 2006, but her appearance never made a full recovery. However, thanks to the surprise hit Sharknado in 2013, this slightly-altered-actress got a second chance at stardom, despite her plastic surgery nightmare.

Donatella Versace

In keeping with the tone of the extravagant Versace brand, Donatella Versace likes to make a statement with everything she does, and that includes her face. However, despite her influential position and iconic creations that have been with the fashion world for decades, Versace's botched plastic surgery procedures have made her famous for a very different reason. She has received facelifts, lip augmentations, Botox, tummy tucks, liposuction, and boob jobs. These procedures worked like a domino effect for Versace, transforming her into an unrecognizable mosaic of strange features instead of the perfect woman she wanted to be. Maybe she should take a lesson from Coco Chanel and learn that, especially when it comes to your face, “less is more.”

Janice Dickinson

Janice Dickinson used to be on the cover of Vogue magazine, but now she looks like the poster child for plastic surgery gone wrong. She was America’s self-proclaimed “first supermodel” in her youth, but numerous boob jobs, tummy tucks, facelifts, liposuctions, and Botox injections later, she now looks like a woman who lost the battle with aging and she has the battle scars to prove it! After her surgeries, Dickinson's son Nathan urged his mother to stop. "I won't do any more plastic surgery," Dickinson told UK's Daily Mail in response, "if he's looking." We can only imagine what she will look like in another 10 years! Dickinson is one of the stars on the list who actually did appear on the show Botched in the past, to fix her aging implants that were sagging and rippled.

Lil' Kim

Lil’ woman, big controversy! Lil' Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Denise Jones, is known for her raps and she has had numerous hit songs along her road to fame. However, now in her 40s, Lil' Kim is completely unrecognizable from the debut look she was so famously known for in the past. The most prominent change in her appearance is the excessive whitening of her whole body, which is a major change from the natural dark skin that she used to have. This skin whitening sparked lots of controversy in the rap community, with her fans accusing her of being ashamed of her African American roots. In addition to the skin whitening, Lil' Kim has also had cheek implants, eye surgery, a nose job, and breast implants. The transformation, she said, is mostly due to depression and low self-esteem. But Kim remains publicly un-phased by the backlash her many surgeries have caused, and has made several statements saying that she will not apologize for her new look.

Lisa Rinna

Lisa Rinna, originally known for her role on Days of Our Lives, is now most famously known for the huge, oversized lips she’s been rocking in more recent years! The star is an admitted fan of plastic surgery, and has undergone excessive work on her lips, face, and body. In fact, she took her lips to such an extreme that she had to undergo an additional surgery to fix her overly inflated smackers, just so she could talk normally again. The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star has admitted to having injections of Juvederm in both her cheeks and lips, and told The Tiny Ass Chair Blog, "When you change your face, you don't look like yourself. Looking fresher is one thing. But I looked like a freak! I always said I wouldn't change my face, but I did it." Lisa Rinna’s lip battle is proof that sometimes it's best to just surrender and age gracefully.

Burt Reynolds

Funny how this Smokey and the Bandit star got older but ended up with less wrinkles and tighter skin as he aged. Burt Reynolds’ face has caused lots of speculations in the world of plastic surgery lately. His face shows obvious signs of a face lift, eye lift, and nose jobs in recent years. The shape of his nose got thinner over time, and as Burt got older, his plastic surgery started deforming, leaving him looking like a strangely plastic version of the formerly rugged Hollywood star we all knew and loved. "I inherited my smooth skin from my father," Reynolds told OK! Magazine, and the star went on to admit that he had cosmetic surgery around his eyes because of injuries sustained during the fight scenes in many of his movies. Whether his reasons for having the surgery are true or not, Burt's unnaturally plastic looking face makes him almost unrecognizable from the man we all knew in Burt’s former days of glory.

Meg Ryan

Back when Harry met Sally, Meg Ryan was known as America's sweetheart, but these days, Harry might not even recognize her! The blonde beauty has never admitted to going under the knife, though clearly she has had quite a bit of work done on her face, including most notably her lips. Though Meg has been tight lipped about her plastic surgery transformation, the actress has been very vocal about the media's focus on female beauty. "There are more important conversations than how women look and how they are aging," she told Porter magazine. "I love my age. I love my life right now. I love what I know about. I love the person I've become, the one I've evolved into." Good for you Meg, and we hope that you are currently loving your new face as well!

Mickey Rourke

The Formerly handsome Mickey Rourke is an American actor and retired boxer. Unfortunately, he took away his dashing good looks and exchanged it for a face of botched plastic surgery, with a series of excessive procedures that altered his looks completely. Rumor has it that his many surgeries include a facelift, upper eyelid lift, lip jobs, and hair transplants. Rourke admits to the plastic surgeries he’s had, and goes further to depict them as a plastic surgery nightmare. He’s had his nose re-formed with five different surgeries, and likewise confessed to having a facial remaking surgery done on his cheek. Between the wounds he’s received from boxing, and the sheer number of operations he was forced to undergo in order to reconstruct his injured face, it's no big surprise that Mickey Rourke’s appearance has changed so significantly from what it once was during his prime in the 80s.

Joan Rivers

Comedy vet Joan Rivers was very outspoken about her multiple cosmetic surgeries. She even wrote about her eye lift, nose job, and breast augmentation in her 2008 book, Men Are Stupid...And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery.  Before Joan passed away in 2014, she was the self-proclaimed queen of plastic surgery. Partaking in facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid augmentation, nose jobs, breast augmentations, and many more procedures that left her looking downright unnatural, Joan was too obsessed with looking young to ever give up going under the knife. Rivers wrote in her book, "Looking good equals feeling good ... I'd rather look younger and feel happy than look older and be depressed."

This life philosophy is something she famously stood by until her death at the age of 81, from complications during a procedure she underwent to evaluate her voice changes and stomach reflux, according to the New York medical examiner. This queen of style and plastic surgery will go down in history for breaking down the barriers for women to speak about their appearance issues, and her comedy will always be greatly missed.

John Travolta

John Travolta was the seventies heartthrob who made women around the world swoon in Grease and Saturday Night Fever. Known for his classic good looks and dimpled chin, the now 62-year-old actor’s latest look has raised eyebrows, with viewers of his hit show The People Vs OJ Simpson reacting with hilarity over the star's greatly altered face. Viewers couldn't help but comment on John Travolta's noticeably "frozen smile," after the show first aired, with many saying that they were "distracted by his appearance."  With Travolta’s two bushy frozen eyebrows, deep chestnut tan, and shiny tight forehead, the star’s trademark looks appeared to have gone in a new direction for this particular role, one which made Travolta appear less like the famous lawyer, Robert Shapiro, and more like a man in the midst of a major mid-life crisis!

Farrah Abraham

In a close call, the Teen Mom star, Farrah Abraham, fell victim to botched lip injections that dramatically blew up her already abnormally large pout to triple its normal size, in January 2015. Farrah revealed on The Doctors, "As soon as he touched my lip with whatever numbing product he put in there, my lip was having an allergic reaction right away. I was laying down flat, but I was seeing more of my lip come up and come up. I'm just super happy that I'm alive." However, this wasn't the only plastic surgery that the infamous reality star has under gone. Farrah's face and body have drastically changed since the world was first introduced to her at the age of 16. From nose jobs, to a chin implants, to 3 breast augmentations the Teen Mom OG star received a handful of plastic surgery procedures before the young age of 21! Leaving her looking less like the pretty young mom we met so many years ago, and more like one of the blow-up dolls that Farrah now famously sells online, as part of her adult toy collection. It looks like to Farrah, the ultimate mark of beauty is plastic.

Farrah, like Janice Dickinson, also appeared on an episode of Botched.

Courtney Love

"I was an actress in the '80s, but, well, let's be real," Courtney Love told Jimmy Kimmel in 2014. "I had a really big nose. That schnoz was not taking me anywhere but radio." So getting a nose job was a no-brainer for the infamous Courtney.  Then, seeing as how Love is openly not a big fan of aging, to counteract the process she moved on to a facelift procedure. "Nobody ask me about aging gracefully, please," she begged in Canada's Fashion magazine in 2013. "C’mom, I took advice from Goldie Hawn when she said I should get a face-lift at 35!” These are just a couple of the many surgeries that Courtney Love has admitted to having over the years. But then again, did we expect anything less then extreme plastic surgery from Hollywood's most famous bad girl? I think not!

Jocelyn Wildenstein

Jocelyn Wildenstein is a New York City billionaire and socialite that was nicknamed "The Cat-Woman" for the feline-like features that she achieved through extreme plastic surgery. Jocelyn reportedly first went under the knife in the '70s fearing her billionaire husband, Alec Wildenstein, would leave her if she did not change her looks. Later, she admitted that the surgery was not an effort to maintain her marriage, but rather to pay homage to exotic wild cats, which her husband loved. Right, cause that seems more reasonable! However, the freakish outcome of the procedures that Jocelyn had done to achieve this “feline” look leads us to question her sanity. Couldn’t she just be happy with just the 2.5 billion dollars she received during her divorce settlement?
