There is a lot that can be said about a person like Logan Paul. He has as many fans out there as he has haters. That’s because he’s had his fair share of scandals, he’s controversial, and he’s milking his publicity and celebrity status for all that it’s worth. If there’s one thing that a lot of people can agree on, it’s that Logan is determined. That is, he’s determined to keep his name in the headlines for as long as possible. He is determined to generate fame however he can, and he clearly does not care if he stirs up controversy along the way. When it comes to fame and money, morals and values simply don't matter.
Now, we know that Logan Paul is a “different kind of celebrity.” He’s a millionaire thanks to his YouTube videos and social media. A few years ago no one would have ever imagined that posting 11-second Vine videos would make someone this rich. And for Logan Paul, it’s all in an hour’s work. Yet, there are some things that he has done in the past years that are making his lawyers very, very nervous for him. The guy is playing with fire, both literally and figuratively. A lot of people think that he needs to calm down before he ends up losing his entire fortune and ruining his future forever. Here’s a list of 15 things that Logan Paul has done that are destroying his net worth.
15 He’s A Rule Breaker
Logan Paul doesn’t care about rules. As a matter of fact, he makes his own as he goes along. He does it for clicks, he does it for subscribers, and of course, he does it for revenue, even if he might end up being the most hated man on YouTube. But this does surprise us? Absolutely not. Logan Paul’s entire mantra is all about living on the edge.
He falls down. He gets back up again. And while it seems like he has more critics than fans these days (along with people who are simply in awe over what he does), Logan is addicted to becoming one of the biggest social media stars and influencers in the world. There is nothing that is going to stop him from reaching the top, no matter how controversial he gets. In other words, he has a game plan. He wants to take over the entire social media world, one video at a time.
14 The Furniture Fire Proved How Little He Cares For Others
Logan and his brother Jake Paul are the neighbors that no one wants to have. And we don’t mean that lightly at all. Their neighbors have called the cops on them so many times that they are probably waiting until the day that they finally move! Both Jake and Logan Paul were heavily criticizing for throwing furniture in a pit of fire in their backyard pool. The blaze was so high that it was almost the same level as their house! As you can imagine, it freaked out his nearby neighbors!
Jake wasn’t even remorseful about what he did. He said at the time, “Yes, we had a furniture fire, but nobody got hurt. We’re not even that loud. Like, yes, we had a furniture fire get out of control in our backyard one time. But that didn't harm a single person." Clearly they don't realize how bad their risk-taking looks to everyone.
13 The Parachute Post Showcases His Reckless Nature
Yes, Logan Paul did make a video that referred how he was "supposed to [pass away] that day." Forget how his lawyers must have been feeling about this video, but what about his insurance company? This guy has no boundaries. He is using a near very dangerous experience to promote himself. Who in the right mind does something like that?
Speaking to the camera, Logan said in his clip, "Your main parachute takes 3-6 seconds to open. I go to pull the rip cord, and it gets stuck in this little square shape. About 4 seconds later, it still hasn't opened. You are in your mind next to [passing]. You’re walking the line. The Maverick lives to fight another day. I’m still here." Seriously, can this guy be ANY more annoying? Most people would never put themselves in risky positions, let alone capitalize off them.
12 His Rats Video Upset Animal Rights Activists
PETA is definitely never going to forgive Logan Paul for this. Logan was recently slammed for tasering rats in a YouTube video. In a clip titled “Get these rats,” Paul and two friends found two deceased rats on their front porch. He said in the clip, “Get them,” as his two friends screamed and asked, “Why?” He replied, "No rat comes into my house without getting tased,” he said, adding, ”Okay, so the rats are definitely [gone].”
As you can imagine, a spokesperson for PETA chimed in on the stunt by saying, “This sort of content has no place on YouTube or anywhere else, as it could desensitize young people to cruelty to animals.” The organization also wrote on Twitter, “Yo, Logan Paul: [This] isn’t funny. Exploiting [animals'] bodies for views is disturbing.”
11 The Japanese Forest Video Started His Downward Spiral
This has to be the worst thing Logan has ever done, and it is what started his downward spiral. On New Year’s Eve in 2017, Logan uploaded a video of him and his friends walking through a Japanese forest near the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. Without thinking it through (not that we want to give him any credit) he filmed a very gruesome sight, and uploaded the video on YouTube. It shows a man, who had allegedly taken his own life. The video sparked major outrage but also gained over 6.4 million views in less than the 24 hours that it was uploaded on YouTube. The video was removed from the channel. A Change.org petition urged the social media network to delete Logan’s account as well.
Logan Paul subsequently apologized for the video, but it wasn’t enough. While he says that the video was irresponsible, he claims that he didn’t have any intention to mock the victim.
10 His Annoying Behavior In Japan Embarrassed Americans
If that weren’t enough, a lot of people also blasted Logan Paul for his annoying behavior in Japan. In fact, some people even called it downright disrespectful. The citizens of Japan never want to see his face again after some of the tricks he pulled on them.
This is what E! News reported: “He is seen throwing a toy Poké Ball at people and a moving car while wearing a Pikachu onesie and then running through an electronics store, dancing with a male friend in the street while wearing a kimono and conical hat they obtained from a clothing stand, yelling the URL of his online store at the top of his lungs on a busy street and sticking a fish and raw squid leg he bought in the faces of strangers and against a store window.” Wow. This guy is behaving like an utter fool and giving Americans a bad name.
9 His First Apology Video Was Heavily Criticized
A lot of people were seriously angry at Logan Paul for his first apology video. And it was because what he said and how he said it, especially the first two lines of his apology. Seriously, you can’t make this kind of stuff up. Logan got slammed left and right for appearing to be both insensitive and selfish for what he did.
“I didn’t do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. I intended to raise awareness [...] and while I thought, ‘If this video saves just ONE life, it’ll be worth it.’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video,” according to his statement posted on Twitter. How he thought a video that mocked and demeaned a victim would help people is beyond us. It seemed to many like a poor excuse for extremely offensive behavior.
8 His Second Apology Video Wasn't Much Better
After getting slammed for not saying what he really feels in his first video (you know, how everything blew out of proportion), he released a second apology video. Sadly, it wasn’t better than the first.
“I should have never posted the video,” he said. “I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through. There are a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn't. And for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I want to apologize to the internet,” he said in the new video. “I want to apologize to anyone who has seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness or depression or suicide. But, most importantly, l want to apologize to the victim and his family.” Sounds like a PR apology that doesn't address how he took advantage of the victim's suffering.
7 He Doesn't Seem To Care One Bit
Simply put, Logan Paul is one person who doesn’t care about how his actions affect others. We don’t want to give him any ideas, but he’s the kind of person who would use anything as bait just for clicks. For lack of a better term, the dude is out of control. I mean, he’s the same guy who put his house furniture on fire, tasered rats, posted a shocking video in a forest and does the craziest things for attention. And if that weren’t enough, he also wants to you buy his “merch” (that’s merchandise, for those of you who aren’t familiar with YouTube speak). Seriously, he wants to take over the world, one social media page at a time.
Seriously, Logan Paul DGAF. All that matters to him is his clicks, his revenue and his fame. That’s because he’s young, he’s immature and he still has so much to learn about life.
6 His Comeback Came Way Too Soon
You’d think that Logan Paul would do the right thing and take some time off for himself following the disastrous Japan forest video. And by that we mean disappear for several years. But no. It didn’t take Logan Paul more than 30 days to make his comeback just for YouTube to suspend his account once again. Seriously, the guy doesn’t learn. He needs the attention and fame that much.
After he tasered those rats in his controversial video, YouTube slapped him across the hand and suspended his channel. Mind you, it’s only a temporary suspension, though. a YouTube spokesperson said, “After careful consideration, we have decided to temporarily suspend ads on Logan Paul’s YouTube channels. This is not a decision we made lightly, however, we believe he has exhibited a pattern of behavior in his videos that makes his channel not only unsuitable for advertisers but also potentially damaging to the broader creator community.”
5 He Doesn’t Care About His Audience
Clearly, Logan Paul doesn’t care about his audience, who they are or where they come from, for that matter. If he did, then he wouldn’t be pulling off so many outrageous, especially considering that his audience is mostly 4th and 5th grade kids who idolize him. A lot of parents don’t even know that their children watch and obsess about everything that their favorite YouTuber does every day. Little do they know that a lot of stuff that he does (like the video he filmed in the Japanese forest) is inappropriate for the majority of his followers.
Yes, little kids are making YouTubers like Logan Paul filthy rich. That’s because they are his core audience. You’d think that he would be a little more mindful knowing that so many young, impressionable kids watch him everyday. He is happy to get their views and doesn't care about much else.
4 He Was Dropped By Google Preferred
You’d think that being dropped by a program like Google Preferred would help get your act together, but not Logan Paul. According to reports, the program “is meant to be a mark of trust to signal to advertisers they can rely on these media creators to generate higher-quality content.” In other words, Logan makes a lot of moolah thanks to the cash that Google helps bring him on a daily basis. If that weren’t enough, he was also dropped from the fourth season of the YouTube Red Scripted series Foursome.
Unfortunately, Logan Paul totally messed that up with his infamous Japanese forest video. You’d think that he would say “whoa,” step back for a second, and think about his life priorities before doing something stupid again. Sadly, that hasn’t happened yet.
3 His Acting Career Is Over
Logan and Jake Paul have tried their hand at acting. After all, we know that the brothers have starred in television shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Disney’s Bizaardvark (before getting fired and banned from the network altogether). But it looks like no one is going to want to work with the Paul brothers ever again. Why? Because these two are toast in the entertainment industry.
But as we know, the Paul brothers live in an alternate universe from the rest of us. They think they are untouchable. Jake said not too long ago, “To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best. I’ve been making videos for the past ten years, so if someone wants to knock me off, they’d better bring it.” You know what that means.
2 He And Jake Paul Only Care About Fame
At this point, it’s safe to say that the Paul brothers only care about fame. They know that their ridiculous antics is what brings them attention and better yet, pay their bills (including their multi-million dollar mansion in Los Angeles). Simply put, these two are doing it all for the MONEY.
It really doesn’t seem like Jake and Logan Paul are going anywhere, anytime soon. And it also seems like no matter how many times YouTube is going to suspend them, they will always come back with more. His brother Jake Paul once said, “If you look at the biggest people on social media right now, it’s the Kardashians. My goal is to form a crew that’s bigger than them collectively. It might take us five years, but we’ll get there. I’m never satisfied. It was just the 20th anniversary of Bad Boy Records and they’re still talking about Biggie. I want people talking about me when I’m gone.”
1 Logan Thinks He Deserves A Second (Or Third) Chance
No matter how many times this guy falls, he plans on getting back up again, over and over again. I mean, he had a terrifying experience and the next day he made a YouTube clip about it. This guy’s life revolves around entertaining young audiences with his ridiculous antics and shenanigans. The problem is, he’s getting very close to not only putting himself in danger, but those around him, too. Trust us when we say that when it happens, we won’t be laughing with him, or at him, for that matter.
When critics think of Logan Paul, they think of several words. Rude. Foolish, Arrogant. Greedy. When we think of Logan Paul, we seriously feel sorry for his lawyer and that’s because that person probably has one of the hardest jobs in the world. Keeping this guy out of trouble (or out of the jail cell) has to be some serious work.
