15 Photos From Gal Gadot's Past She Wishes She Could Erase

Gal Gadot is the kind of Hollywood star who likes to control her image. She is very careful about the things that she posts on social media, what she says in her interviews, and how the world perceives her. In other words, she’s not like the other actresses in the entertainment world today. She’s a very smart woman. She knows that being a celebrity is just as important as being an A-list actress and that’s why she doesn’t want to mess things up by saying the wrong things, being in the wrong places, or worse, acting in the wrong movies. In other words, she wants to look perfect at all times. Even her Instagram page shows a very glossed-over version of her life, and doesn't show us much that lies under the surface.

With that being said, there is a lot about Gal Gadot and her past that her fans don’t know about. She was thrust onto the Hollywood scene relatively later in her life, and so there is much about her past that is still little known, or under the radar. She might be the on-screen Wonder Woman, but she’s done things in the past that were rather controversial. And that’s why there are a lot of facts, stories and photos from her past that she’s trying to hide from her fans. These are some photos that Gal Gadot would prefer us not to see. Luckily, we’ve got them here. Here are 15 photos that Gal Gadot that she wishes she could erase.

Before she hit the big time, Gal Gadot was a pageant princess. When she was just 18 years old, she won the 2004 Israel beauty pageant. That same year she went on to compete in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant in Ecuador. But her pageant days didn’t last very long. That’s because after her 20th birthday, she carried out her required two-year military service in the Israeli army. After her stint was over, she went to college to study law.

What a lot people don’t know is that Gal posed for Maxim magazine back in 2007 when she was just 21 years old. The shoot was titled “Women of the Israeli Army” and was even featured on the cover of the New York Post that year. It’s safe to say that her military career actually help kick start her modelling career, too.

Here’s something that I’m sure a lot of people won’t deny: Gal Gadot is a very beautiful woman. She’s pretty, she’s tall and she’s got model good looks. And yes, being married to a millionaire sure does help her keep up with the latest beauty and health trends, too. Yet, Gal didn’t always look this glamorous and this beautiful. As a matter of fact, she almost looks unrecognizable in some of her modelling pictures from the past.

I mean, we’ve all had awkward stages during our teen years and our early twenties, right? We’ve worn things that should have never existed and played with fashion trends that are hard to look at today. And apparently, Gal was no different. Did she really think that this was a good look? Yikes!

Because Gal Gadot is Hollywood’s new Wonder Woman, she knows it’s important to stay fit and active. That’s why she hits the gym both day and night in order to maintain those rock-hard abs. But she wasn’t always this athletic. As a matter of fact, there are photos of her from her past that look nothing like her present.

It seems like Gal only adapted his new healthy lifestyle after she won the coveted role of Wonder Woman. Now, we are not saying that it’s a bad thing. People try and change things in their lives all the time. But if you are going to play a role as iconic as Wonder Woman, you should be someone who was born to play the role, right? Yet, looking at this old photo of Gal, while she is beautiful, we just don’t see the character in her.

12 But She Was Always Active

Gal might not have been a fitness buff during her teen days, but according to the actress, she was always active. That’s because her mother was a fitness teacher and encouraged her to play outside rather than sit at home and play with video games like many other kids her age. Gal says that even as a young girl she was always full of energy and acquired a love for basketball at a very early age. She also played volleyball throughout her high school years, too. In other words, sports were always part of her daily curriculum.

She once said in an interview, “I come from a very sporty background because my mom is a gymnastics teacher. So growing up I was never sitting watching TV in the afternoon. I always played ball outside in the backyard.”

11 The Israeli Army

Gal Gadot was born and raised in Israel. What a lot of people don’t know is that both males and females are required to serve their country and that’s exactly what Gal did in her late teens. And while she hasn’t really said much about her time in uniform, there are plenty of photos out there of her posing in what some people would say pretty hot and steamy shots. I mean, if some women like to see men in uniforms, women in uniforms are probably just as attractive, right?

Her years in the Israel Defence Force are also quite controversial for a number of reasons. Movie theaters in Lebanon banned Wonder Woman just because Gal was in the lead role. Why? Because back in 2006, the IDF and Hezbelloh militias were at war for over a month. Many Lebanese civilians died as a result.

10 And She Is Giving No Apologies About It, Either

Gal knows who she is and where she comes from. While there are certain photos of her that she probably doesn’t want the world to see, she doesn’t pretend that her past didn’t happen. In fact, she’s proud that she served in the Israeli army. And she doesn’t really care about what her critics have to say about it, too.

Gal said, “I definitely have a strong sense of my Jewish and Israeli identity. I did my two-year military service, I was brought up in a very Jewish, Israeli family environment, so of course my heritage is very important to me. I want people to have a good impression of Israel. I don't feel like I'm an ambassador for my country, but I do talk about Israel a lot – I enjoy telling people about where I come from and my religion.”

9 She Tries To Be Modest

via: dailymail.co.uk

Gal Gadot is married to one of the richest men in Israel, Yaron Varsano. While no one knows just how much he is worth, it’s safe to say that they are swimming in millions. That’s because they sold a luxury hotel they used to own to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in 2015 for a whopping $26 million dollars. Yes, Wonder Woman here is a very rich woman!

Yet at the same time, Gal wants her fans to believe that she’s also a very modest woman. Even though she owned a luxury hotel with her husband, she once said that she helped with the day-to-day operations at the property. She even changed bed sheets when she had to. Now, we are not saying that it didn’t happen, but do you really believe that Gal went from housekeeper to Wonder Woman? Uh-huh…

via: express.co.uk

Gal Gadot has made it no secret that she wants to be a role model for little girls who look up to her from all over the world. We have to give credit where credit is due. Gal knows that she has a certain sense of public responsibility as both an actress and a celebrity. That’s why she always spreads her message about female empowerment and standing up for what you believe it. But yet a lot of people think that Gal isn’t the right kind of role model for young girls, simply because her past actions and associations are so controversial for the mainstream media. That hasn’t stopped Gal from trying, though.

She once said, “I wanted to show that women are empowered and strong, and don't have to be saved by some male hero, but they can take care of themselves using their intelligence and their power.”

via: pinsdaddy.com

A lot of people think it’s quite ironic that someone like Gal Gadot can play Wonder Woman on the big screen. It’s because she’s a pro-IDF actress who is playing a character that is very pro-peace. See the irony there? Yet, for Gal, she tries to explain it that her serving in the Israeli Army was part of her civic duty. And while some understand that part, they just don’t get why she was in the movie.

Gal once defended herself by saying, “Let me start by saying I wish no country had the need for an army. But in Israel, serving is part of being an Israeli. You’ve got to give back to the state. You give two or three years, and it’s not about you. You give your freedom away. You learn discipline and respect.”

6 She Doesn’t Want To Be Just A Pretty Actress

via: wikilegs.org

Even though Gal Gadot spent the most part of her early days working the pageant circle and trying to break into the modelling world, Gal often says that she doesn’t want to be just another pretty actress. She wants to be more than the nice girl who accompanies her man to a party or a girl who is supposed to sit down and look pretty. Those kinds of roles don’t interest her whatsoever. That’s why she was so desperate to win the role of Wonder Woman. She likes to play kicka*s characters instead.

Gal once explained, “I didn't want to do the obvious role that you see in Hollywood most of the time, which is the heartbroken girl who's waiting to be rescued by the guy, blah, blah, blah. I wanted to do something different.”

5 But Did Her Looks Change?

via: popsugar.co.uk

When it comes to Hollywood, we’ve seen it all. And by that, we mean all of the before and after photos. It seems like there are very few Hollywood actresses that still have the faces that they were born with. I’m sure you know what we are talking about. So many females feel pressured to go make some changes or have some enhancements done in order to keep up with their looks.

We can safely say that Gal doesn’t look like she fits in that category. Sure, there are photos of her that look very different than her present day ones, but that could be the result of better lighting, makeup and style choices. Thankfully, Gal hasn’t altered anything on her face. That’s because she knows she was born with a good one.

4 She Said No To James Bond

via: pagesix.com

This might be very hard to believe, but Gal says that she once turned down the opportunity to play a James Bond girl on the big screen. I mean, for a lot of actresses, this a dream role come true. But not for someone like Gal. She says that the timing just wasn’t right for her as she was still in college and that the role simply didn’t interest her. Her excuses are pretty strange, especially considering that most James Bond girls are great, kicka*s characters.

Gal once said, “My agent called me and said, ‘You have an audition for James Bond. They're looking for the girl.’ And I told him, ‘Listen, it's all in English. I'm not an actress. I'm not going to go.’ He thought I was kidding with him.”

3 She Also Thinks She’s Too Smart To Be An Actress

via: dailymotion.com

A lot of people think tone of the reasons why Gal said no to James Bond because at the time she thought she was too smart to be an actress. She had different goals in mind. She was studying law and international relations in college at the time. From what she’s said, it sounds like she wanted to become an Amal Clooney instead.

Yet, we know how that all turned out. Looks like Gal wasn’t as smart as she thought she was. So much for being taken seriously! Instead of pursuing a career in law, she’s now a Hollywood actress. This just proves that you really do have to be careful with the things you say out loud. Gal’s quotes from her past often come back just to bite her in the you-know-what.

2 Is She An A-List Actress?

via: facebook.com

While there’s no doubt that 2017 was one of the best years on record for Gal Gadot, a lot of people can’t help but ask: is she an A-list actress? Has she managed to climb her way to the top? Does she have what it takes to make in the cut-throat industry that is the entertainment industry? Of course, time can only tell. But for now, it looks like Gal is doing whatever it takes to get to the top and stay there, too. That’s why she takes each and every role she plays very seriously, even if it’s in movies like Keeping Up With The Joneses.

Gal explains it this way: “When you play a character, you bring yourself into the character. You get a chance to shine and show your translation for the character and her state of mind.”

1 And She’s Never Had To Defend Herself

via: pinterest.com

I’m sure you’ve heard it, your friends have heard about it, your neighbors have read about it, and heck, every living person on this planet has heard about it during some point of 2017. We are talking about all of the creepiness and violations that were made against women in Hollywood. It’s been going on for years and for the most part, swept under the rug. In fact, almost every third actress has a story to tell about her past. But according to Gal, she’s never been in that kind of situation. She’s never had to defend herself. In other words, she’s never been in a compromising situation, despite her being in pageants and modelling throughout the early years of her career.

She’s said, “I've never experienced a bad situation with men being sexist with me. I've been very lucky – even when I was just starting and modelling in Milan and Paris.”
