Imagine you were given the chance of a lifetime to stroll into a motion picture and create some type of force or energy or some weapon that was made particularly for the motion picture, and bring it into this present reality with you. The forces and devices in motion pictures have been on individuals' brains as far back as motion pictures got to be prevalent, so for a long while individuals regularly wished they could harness these forces that actors and actresses showcase through film.
Light sabers, speed bikes, hover boards, anything that gets the audience excited is something they'd get a kick out of the chance to find in real time. I'm here to talk about a number of the gadgets and forces that we wish would make their presence known in our existence. The potential for misuse from certain individuals of such things is known, however there are a select few that show they could lose the urge to misuse their powers, or the simple notion that they'd absolutely die to have a working light saber in their room.
Oftentimes, we have trouble putting into perspective what it would be like in our day and age if people somehow managed to get their hands on futuristic technology, mythical powers, and the like. Everything would be so much different and it'd be like living in a movie. Sometimes all it takes is one man to think outside the box to create the things we desire. And sometimes that's the downfall of the human race altogether.
15 Lightsaber - Star Wars
You can't tell me you've watched Star Wars and never wished you could reach in and grab a lightsaber for yourself. In terms of movie related weapons, the lightsaber is easily one of the most wanted weapons in today's movie media, and multiple inventions and variants have been made to come close to actually being able to own one. Granted, I can't imagine what people would do if they got their hands on a weapon of that caliber, since the movies showcase them in such a violent manner. I imagine it'd have to succumb to the same restrictions that guns, knives or swords do where it'd need to be given to those with the proper license. But even with a license, what would stop somebody from going out and walking into a grocery store and deciding "yeah, I’m going to cut his limbs off." This is all assuming at some point in our lives, we'll live in a Star Wars universe.
14 Force Powers - Star Wars
Back when Star Wars was first released, force powers were something never before seen, which prompted the movies to do so well. While that was also helped with the idea of Jedi and Sith fighting each other, people really latched onto the idea that force powers could eventually make its way into reality. Unfortunately due to the fact that having a midi-chlorian count upon birth is impossible, it's safe to assume that force powers are nothing but a pipe dream. Much like lightsabers however, I can't imagine the repercussions that would occur due to people suddenly being able to manipulate the weak minded to do their bidding. Things like presidential elections, getting grades in school, and the like would be much easier to manipulate for those lucky enough to have such a power. That doesn't stop force powers from being one of the top fifteen powers that people wished would come to fruition.
13 Hover board - Back To The Future
Before I say anything, I don't like to consider the sorry excuse of an invention with wheels a legitimate hover board. Given the name alone, we as a community can only hope that technology will evolve enough to allow for a board to literally float and allow it to hold our weight simultaneously. Most famously shown in the Back To The Future movies, the hover board goes alongside the lightsaber for being one of the most wanted movie related powers in this day and age. The ability to pick up a hover board at home and ride it to work or to just ride it around like people do with skateboards sounds like a pleasurable experience. It would not only allow people to get out of their cars for once but it'd help in saving the environment from becoming a gas infested plateau while simultaneously causing the ever increasing gas prices to come to a pause.
12 Poké Ball - Pokémon
As much as we'd like to believe that Pokémon Go has fulfilled the want to be a Pokémon trainer in real life, it really has not done a great job in giving us the full virtual experience of what it must feel like to wield a real poké ball with a real Pokémon inside. The poké ball makes this list not only because it seems to be a cool invention, but also it'd really give us wannabe trainers the real feeling of being a Pokemon trainer. I remember when I was younger I would take white baseballs or plastic baseballs and color them red with a black line around it to mimic the feeling of holding a real poké ball. Unfortunately it may be the closest thing we'll ever get to the real thing. Granted, it's probably for the best that a poké ball doesn't make it into reality as I feel the population would drop due to people mishandling them and capturing actual human beings instead of Pokémon.
11 Invisibility Cloak - Harry Potter
I've never been a big fan of Harry Potter, but I know for a fact that there are certain things in the Harry Potter universe that people wish would come to our world and the Invisibility Cloak is one of them. Unsurprisingly, the power of invisibility has been a popular discussion piece when it comes to certain powers we wish we had, and that goes alongside the power of flight, and super strength. Harry Potter showcased what it'd be like to have the power of invisibility by using it to walk around the castle without a trace and to sneak into a conversation, taking place unnoticed. Given the nature of invisibility however, it could lead to people sneaking into places they don't belong, like your best friends sister’s bedroom for instance. There would need to be a certain restriction with where the invisibility cloak could be used, but unfortunately real life doesn't work the same way video games or movies do, where it can be decided which things work in certain areas.
10 Iron Man Suit - Iron Man
We've talked about the potentiality for human cyborgs before in different forms of literature, but imagine if people were given the ability to differentiate themselves from cyborg to human and vice versa. The Iron Man movies not only showcase this, but also give us something to look forward to in the possible far along future. This concept was also shown in the Fallout video game series through the use of power armor, and again, that's far enough into the future to see the potentiality of such a thing existing. Along with many of the other powers and gadgets listed in this article, it could lead to some unforeseen repercussions like the sudden responsibility of protecting your city or state from harm, or even the possibility of misuse if a power suit were to be given to the wrong person. However, the power of strength, flight, built in weaponry, and much more would be accessible through the use of one man-made suit.
9 Jump / Teleportation - Jumper
There are a couple different cases of teleportation in this article, however I feel as a movie specific power, jumping takes the crown for not only showcasing teleportation, but is also a decent motion picture on its own merits. Take the essential idea of what you think about teleportation, then apply that to individuals, and you have jumping. To the extent of how much an individual would worry, there aren't very many things that could turn out badly if one somehow happened upon the access to such a power. It'd provide individuals an alternative to being late to work to getting some place quickly in the event of a crisis. The film showcases that on the off chance that you have a photo of an area, you can jump to that particular spot. In the event that somebody were interested on adventuring to a different country, or providing your helping hand in a different state, the power of jumping would give you the capability to do so.
8 Web Slinging - Spider-Man
Growing up, I was quite fond of the Spider-Man movies, so much so that I often wished I could harness the same power that was shown throughout each movie: web slinging. Being granted a power in a movie that so many people wished they could have is no easy feat, though the overall appeal of said power just seems to have no repercussions attached to it. Unless you count suddenly being responsible for an entire city based on your ability to fly around said city a repercussion, but I digress. I'm a big fan of the Tobey Maguire era of Spider-Man because he really put the emotion into what it'd actually feel like to suddenly have the power to sling a spider web around everywhere and pull yours1elf along with it. Of course, this also spawned popular Spider-Man games that got us the closest we'd ever get to what it must feel like to wield such power. Still, I imagine there are people out there that have a substantial need to feel what it's like to web sling, but I suggest you don't go around looking for spiders to bite you since that has been proven not to work in the way the movies show it to.
7 God - Bruce Almighty
Everybody has wanted to play God at one point in his or her life. Being given the power to control anything you want, manipulate anything you want, and teleport and walk anywhere you so please. Bruce Almighty showcased this very well by giving Jim Carrey the fictional power of playing God and though it ended up being the very downfall of his well being, he showed off his ability to run on water, change his wardrobe, and change his entire life for the better due to having the power to control anything he wants. The very conversation of God is also a big controversial topic as there are people on both sides, but I think we can all agree that to have such a power that would allow us to be deemed as the "one almighty" would not only be a heavy burden, but supremely awesome. Just make sure you know what you're in for if such a thing were to come along.
6 Dash - The Incredibles
It'd take a substantial amount of convincing, but nothing could possibly be cooler than the ability to run at supersonic speeds. When I saw The Incredibles for the first time, instantly my all time favorite character in that movie was Dash, and it became further evident when he found out he can run on water due to how fast his legs ran. Alongside the hover board, this would create a world where people would no longer need cars or transportation of any kind because all you'd see on the streets is people running. It'd be great for the environment, it'd be great for people who are struggling to lose weight, and it'd be great for those of us that have had a serious urge to run super fast. Granted, there are Olympic athletes that have the ability to run super fast, I don't think anybody has ever come close to how quickly super sonic speed really is.
5 Mask - The Mask
Jim Carrey does a phenomenal job at making us wish we had certain things in our life, and The Mask falls right into that category alongside Bruce Almighty and others. The Mask showcases what it must feel like to live in a real life cartoon by being given the power to not only pull whatever you want to pull out of your pockets in true cartoon fashion, but to manipulate your body to withstand any sort of physical damage. I imagine the only repercussion to such a power existing in real life would come into play when somebody takes such a power and uses it for pure evil as showcased in the movie. Given the sarcastic humor of most individuals on Earth though, I feel a power like this could go a long way in not only entertaining those with no sense of adventure, but to shine some light on how well sarcastic humor could affect the world.
4 Flight - Superman
Possibly one of only a handful of superpowers that everybody can agree on is flight. The force of flight has yet to be seen or be touched through a person, yet the very possibility of such a power existing in our reality could make a domino impact of enhanced ways of life. In addition to the fact that you would have the capacity to fly wherever you so choose, you'd never again be compelled to purchase a plane ticket with the cash you don't have, based on the simple notion that you'd simply travel to a specific city, state, or even nation. However, like most superhero motion pictures, if given the power of flight, you'd quickly realize the position of being in charge of the city you live in on the potentiality of a superpower given onto you. For one reason or another, the city begins to wind up attacked with havoc and chaos, and you're the only one with the capability to bring it to a halt. Be that as it may, if you're mindful of a fraction of the repercussions and the way that the city will depend on you, well the gift of flight can't make itself known any sooner than today.
3 Super Remote - Click
I can't say for certain what I'd do in the event that I was all of a sudden given the ability to control my past, yet I know for sure that such a power is so overwhelmingly capable that it's nearly not worth considering its presence. Showcased in Click, as well as The Butterfly Effect demonstrates the potential repercussions of changing what you may believe is a small event in your past. The whole theory originates from the potentiality that everything happens for a reason, and one change in that line of time could adjust your future for good. This is further demonstrated in Back To The Future as they move into an alternate course of events because of one insignificant change in their past. On the off chance that such a power was to be brought into reality, I can't imagine the potential we could achieve or mistreat if given such a power.
2 Helicopter Hat - Inspector Gadget
We all know Inspector Gadget and we all wish we had access to the gadgets he has access to. Not only does it look like fun to be able to fly around with a helicopter hat, but also just imagine a world filled with human cyborgs. Jobs would no longer be required to ensure a certain person can do the job, since they could program themselves to be a reliable employee. People would be able to fix problems in a blink of a second be it a house fire or anything of that caliber. Granted, a world full of human cyborgs could prove to get boring as everybody would have similar traits and the only differences would be the specific programming for a certain person. However, people have always been joking about whether the world is going to be taken over by robots and that humans will become obsolete. Perhaps moving toward Inspector Gadget clones is the first step.
1 Light Cycle - Tron
Tron is cool; anyone that thinks differently has no clue what they're discussing. We as people have periodically considered what it would entail to live in a PC created world and Tron does it effectively. One of the numerous things that appear to be so tempting about Tron are the light cycles. How cool would it be to have the capacity to move all through your city at light speed with only the bicycle underneath you? I'd say it'd not only blow your mind, but it'd be positively magnificent. I don't know how technology could evolve in order to even come close to accomplishing the ability to match light speed with motorcycles or bicycles, but just the very concept of it seems astronomical. The only issue I see coming from such an invention in our reality would be the fuel source and the vast amount of people getting access to such a vehicle. If it was through a controlled source, it could lead to some big potential.
