Nowadays, it's surprisingly common for people to be attracted to both men and women. In today's fast-moving society, new and different points of view are being accepted at a much higher rate, and this is a great thing. But surprisingly enough, there seems to be a very small number of famous male celebrities who are open with their preferences. There are many gay celebs, and of course there are countless straight celebs, but men that swing both ways are rather underrepresented in the entertainment industry, and in the public eye generally.

Why is that? It could be down to simple statistics. In a recent survey in the United States, only 1.8 percent of people identified as bi. Divide that number in half, and you have the total for bi men in the United States. So it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that men in the entertainment industry are rarely interested in both men and woman. But there are those who are bi and proud, and these are heroes and icons to the entire LGBT community.

For some, however, the idea of this orientation doesn't sit well with them. Interestingly enough, this hate can come from both gay and straight corners. Many gay people feel that people that swing both ways are just gay people in denial, and they're not willing to "fully come out" as gay. And of course a portion of straight people are homophobic towards anyone in the LGBT community. So, as you can see, this group of people has it pretty rough sometimes. But for all the hardships, these famous bi men have managed to become massively successful.

Mike White

Mike White is another famous actor who has come out publicly as swinging both ways. You might remember him as Jack Black's roommate in School Of Rock, and he also worked with Jack Black again in Nacho Libre, a screenplay which he wrote. He's undoubtedly one of the greatest success stories in Hollywood, and he continues to act in amazing movies and write many more successful projects.

When asked if he thinks happy gay relationships are even possible, he answered, "Hell, yeah, I think they're possible! I’ve been in them, although they don’t last for very long. [Laughs.] I think people can be happy in relationships, certainly. I think there’s a lot of pleasure to relationships. However — not to be too self-helpy — I think your ultimate relationship is with yourself, and if you can’t be happy in that relationship, then you’ll never be happy. My dad’s gay, and in the last couple of years things have gotten so different. [Being LGBT is] still such a nascent identity, and I think there’s a lot of fun to be had and a lot of ideas to get at, and I would really like to write about it. It’s just hard finding the time."

Ezra Miller

Ezra Miller is another famous actor who has come out as bi, and he's famous for a huge range of different roles. He's a young actor, and at just 25 years of age, he looks set to truly make his mark on the film world in a substantial and lasting way. You might recognize him for his roles in the DC Cinematic Universe, in which he plays The Flash. But he's also appeared movies like Trainwreck, and played an important role in the movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Speaking about his s*xuality, Miller revealed, “The way I would choose to identify myself wouldn’t be gay. I’ve been attracted mostly to [women] but I’ve been with many people and I’m open to love wherever it can be found. I think a lot of people are projecting their own troubles and fears concerning s*xuality onto those around them, and it does result in the perpetuation of a lot of hateful notions. As long as I can remember, I’ve felt really horrified watching those dynamics play out. It really hurts and divides us all, and in the end, so much of the human experience is shared, so we only end up hating and fearing our own damn selves.”

Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean is a popular singer and musician and has released countless songs that have resonated strongly with people of all genders and s*xualities. He began his career as a struggling musician, and mostly ended up writing lyrics for other artists, such as Justin Bieber and Beyonce. His songs have frequently touched on issues of s*xuality, and some have suggested that many of his songs seem to suggest that Frank Ocean himself is indeed bi. One song in particular tells a story of a boy who met the love of his life, another boy, at the age of 19.

But is Frank Ocean really bi? There have been countless hints to it, although he's never actually fully come out. His lack of commitment to this cause has often been a source of frustration for members of the community, who see it as a betrayal. One of his best known songs, "Chanel," seems to imply being attracted to both men and women from the lyrics, "I see both sides, like Chanel."

Mike Manning

Mike Manning is one of the most exciting new actors in the entertainment business right now. He first gained fame as a cast member of MTV's reality show The Real World: D.C., and later went on to play Nick Swift in Disney's TV show Cloud 9. He's starting to establish himself as an actor, and we're sure to see more of him in the future. He's also one of the few male celebrities who has come out as bi, and many people are really supporting him as a result.

Speaking about his choice to come out as bi, Manning revealed, "I didn’t want to come out to the roommates right up front because I wanted them to get to know me as a person first and then get to know my orientation and other details about my life, but it just kind of happened that way that they asked me and I was like, "You know what? I’m not going to be a hypocrite. I’m not going to pretend to be so confident and comfortable with it and then lie to their faces on the first day that I meet them." So I came out as bi, and I told them the truth, and my relationship with guys and girls and everything like that, but I was still kind of unsure."

Giorgio Armani

Here's one man that needs no introduction, and he's definitely one of the most famous fashion designers in the world. Giorgio Armani's fashion brand bears his name and is one of the most high-class, sought after brands in fashion today. His contribution to the world of fashion has been great, and he is often crediting as pioneering "red carpet fashion." He's also considered to be the most successful designer Italy has ever produced, with a net worth way up there in the billions. Aside from fashion, Giorgio Armani has a keen interest in sports, and often designs suits for various soccer teams, both club and country. He was even once commissioned to create a director's suite in Chelsea's stadium, Stamford Bridge. It was dubbed the "Armani Lounge" as a result.

While Armani has often been very tight-lipped about his private life, especially in regard to his romantic affairs, he has recently made it clear that he is attracted to both men and women. Some people think that this confession may have had something to do with his close friend passing away from HIV. He stated, "I have had women in my life. And sometimes men. To do this work, one must have a free mind. Often one doesn't have the time to worry about others."

Andy Dick

Andy Dick is another well-known actor and entertainer who has repeatedly stated his interest in both men and women. The reason he repeats this point so often is probably because he is often mistaken by the press and the general public as being gay. But he makes sure to always stress the point that he is also attracted to women. In case you doubt his story, he has several children, and has been married multiple times to different women. He's best known as a comic, but you might also recognize him from films such as Zoolander, in which he crossdressed in order to play Olga the Masseuse.

Speaking about his s*xuality, Andy Dick explained: “I’m tri-s*xual, I’ll try anything… I really have tried everything [...] I'm not even gay! [...] This year, it's AIDS and gay. Which I don't have and I'm not. No and No. Just because I've been with guys, and I'm bi, doesn't mean I'm gay."

Alan Cumming

Another famously bi man is Alan Cumming. A truly talented actor, Alan Cumming is known for a huge range of film credits and stage work, including an amazing and iconic role in the stage adaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, Titus.  You might also remember him from the X-Men movies, in which he plays the mutant known as Nightcrawler. Although he is currently married to a man, he has been in a marriage with a woman previously.

Speaking about his view about his own s*xuality, Cumming revealed, “I feel that’s what I am. I see a worrying trend among LGBT people, that if you identify yourself in just one way, you close yourself off to other experiences. My s*xuality has never been black and white; it’s always been gray. I’m with a man, but I haven’t closed myself off to the fact that I’m still attracted to women. It doesn’t matter if you’re married or not. There are straight couples who don’t [get intimate]. There are gay people who don’t [get intimate]. But if you’re attracted to both s*xes, you’re bis*xual.”

Bryan Singer

Bryan Singer is a well-known director, and one of the most prominent openly bi people in the world. He's best known for directing The Usual Suspects, although he's also well-known for his work on various X-Men movies, as well as the Superman reboots. But Singer's career has been marred by several s*xual abuse scandals from young boys, and these rumors were reignited when Weinstein's demise rocked the entertainment world.

In one interview, Singer admitted, "I’m quite bis*xual. In the last five years, I’ve had two girlfriends — one for two years, one for eight months… In the end, it’s probably going to be a guy. I emotionally lean towards male relationships, so I’m happy to say I’m gay, too, if it’s a one-syllable, easy answer. My s*xuality is not what is tearing me up inside. I’m in love and he doesn’t love me back and it’s killing me. I need relationship advice! I’ve never felt the need to be declarative."

Thomas Dekker

If you've seen Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles or Hero on television, you'll recognize Thomas Dekker. This amazing young actor was at first ambiguous about his s*xuality, dropping a few subtle hints, before openly admitting that he is also attracted to men in a Twitter post.

In one of his earlier interviews, Dekker stated: "I've only really had relationships with women, but I'm certainly not closed to it. If there are possibilities of being able to do anything in life, why would you say you would never take any up? In the later chunk of my teen years I was so all over the place with [relationships]. It was terrible. I never really had a real relationship at all. During puberty, it's all about figuring yourself out. I think I overdid it when I was younger."

And then more recently, Thomas Dekker formally "came out" after a gay man alluded to Dekker during an awards acceptance speech: "I thank him because it presents a prime opportunity for me to publicly say that I am indeed a man who proudly loves other men. In fact, this April, I married my husband and I could not be happier."

Pete Wentz

Another celebrity you might be familiar with is Pete Wentz. This amazing musician is the front man for the popular rock group Fall Out Boy. He's an amazing singer, and has built up a huge following for his band and himself over the years. Pete Wentz, in all honesty, might not seem to qualify, but his past comments on the subject make him a mandatory inclusion in the list. Some say that he just loves to confuse reporters with his talk about his romantic preferences, while others take his words at face value.

Pete Wentz admits to having gay experiences, but maintains that he's not attracted to what's "under the belt," saying, "When I said that I make out with dudes, there was a slight sense of rebellion in that. And I probably even made it a bigger deal than it was. Like, 'You make out with this dude and we'll make out.' It's really about the equipment. I really don't think it's an attractive quality."

Jared Leto

Jared Leto is another actor who really needs no introduction. This amazingly talented performer has been in all kinds of different projects, and is now fully starting to grab the entertainment industry and Hollywood by the horns. His most recent performance on screen was in Blade Runner 2087, and he played a sadistic and haunting replicant. But he's also appeared in films like Suicide Squad and many others. He's always been a character that's hard to nail down and categorize, and the rumors about the way he behaves on set only fuel these inconsistencies.

But what about his s*xuality? There have been countless rumors about Jared Leto's preferences, and everyone has a different opinion. One transgender woman claims to have slept with Leto before she transitioned to being a female. And then there are Leto's comments to reporters, which are purposely ambiguous and confusing whenever the subject of his s*xuality is raised. But some think this is merely Leto "toying" with the media.

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy is another name pretty much everyone should know, and he's been involved in some truly incredible projects. He wowed us all with his performance in Mad Max: Fury Road, and was incredible as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. He is an actor with incredible range, and has played pretty much every type and personality you can imagine. But what about his s*xuality? Hardy actually gets quite annoyed when people ask him about it, claiming that is nothing to do with his job as an actor. But he did make some interesting comments in an article for a gay magazine in 2008.

When asked whether he had experienced any gay moments in his life, he answered: "Of course I have. I’m an actor. I’m an artist. I’ve played with everything and everyone. But I’m not into men s*xually. To me it just doesn’t compute now I’m into my 30s and it doesn’t do it for me and I’m done experimenting. But there’s plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I don’t think I’m metros*xual but I’m definitely my mother’s son. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine."

Billie Joe Armstrong

Billie Joe Armstrong is best known for being the front man for popular rock band Green Day. He's also well-known for his unapologetically wild style, and the fact that he's a bi man. He's become somewhat of an icon for people all over the world, and is one of the few men who have publicly identified as bi. Although he's bi, he's also married to a woman and has kids with her, so it seems that he's chosen to be with a woman even though he's also attracted to men.

In one famous interview, Armstrong revealed, "I think I've always been bis*xual... It's a beautiful thing. The fact that it is an issue is kind of phobic within itself. At some point, this should be something that's just accepted. I don't really classify myself as anything. And when it comes to [getting intimate], there are parts of me that are very shy and conservative. I want to respect my wife. My wife Googled 'Billie Joe Armstrong bis*xual' [and] she's like, 'Yeah, there are about 20 pictures of you kissing different guys.'"

Freddie Mercury

Another famously bi man was Freddie Mercury. Although he never explicitly revealed his orientation, more rumors surrounded this man's s*xuality than perhaps any other singer of the time. However, he was most famous not for his ambiguous s*xuality, but his role as the lead singer of the band Queen. Many people have noted that his on stage presence was extremely flamboyant, with Mercury dressing up in all manner of wild and feminine clothing. There have also been countless reports of Freddie Mercury having many one night stands and relationships with other men. Freddie Mercury died in 1991 after contracting HIV/AIDS.

While he never admitted to it, the singer did leave behind some poignant quotes on the subject. He once stated, "Love is like Russian Roulette for me, I’ve tried either side – male and female – but all of them have gone wrong. Let's put it this way: there were times when I was young and green. It's a thing schoolboys go through. I've had my share of schoolboy pranks. I'm not going to elaborate further."

Marlon Brando

Marlon Brando was probably one of the best actors who ever lived. There was something about him that was incredible to watch, and his presence on screen was undeniable. He made a name for himself as a young actor in the 1940s and 50s, and then successfully stayed relevant almost until his death. His early work includes On The Waterfront, and he later starred in amazing films like Apocalypse Now, and The Godfather. He died in 2004 from heart failure, but the mark he left on the world of acting and film is truly great.

Throughout his life, his orientation and love life was a subject of constant rumors. He was linked to stars such as Marilyn Monroe, and many others. But he shocked many when he seemingly came out in an interview, saying, "Like a large number of men, I, too, have had homos*xual experiences and I am not ashamed. But if there is someone who is convinced that Jack Nicholson and I are lovers, may they continue to do so. I find it amusing."

Joe Dallesandro

Joe Dallesandro is probably one of the most prominent bi individuals in our culture. He made it big as a star in Andy Warhol's famous art films, and started to become an even bigger star in the next few years. He had a rough past, being involved with gangs and crime during his teens. When he was young, he supported himself by modelling. After working with Andy Warhol for a period, he worked in France and Italy, before returning to the states to work in 1980s action movies. He most notably played Lucky Luciano in The Cotton Club. In the past, he has worked alongside actors such as Johnny Depp and Bruce Willis.

Although he is a self-identified bi man, he also has children and has been married to several different women over the course of his life. In an interview, he stated, "I never looked at people for their s*xual preference, and I didn't expect people to look at me and ask me what my preference was. If I wasn't sharing that with you it means I wasn't interested in you, and it would be none of your business."
