Probably one of the most fickle businesses in the world, the wonderful world of showbiz can be as excruciating as it can be exhilarating. From being the hot topic one month, to the bottom of the barrel the next, fame most definitely has its ups and downs. Yep, certainly having its downsides, the disadvantages can often outnumber the advantages of the rich and famous, with the life of a celebrity not as easy as one would like to think. For one, celebrities can say goodbye to privacy, with regular activities like shopping for groceries, getting your hair cut and going for an uninterrupted walk a thing of the past. Constantly judged by tabloid magazines, newspapers, blogs and other forms of social media, celebrities are unable to get away with anything, with their personalities picked apart for all to see.
However, with downs, often come ups, with money often blinding those who succumb to the disadvantages. That's right, the more famous you get, then the more money you will make, with celebrities often forgetting the bad times in the process. Desperate to stay in the limelight, celebrities will often do whatever it takes in order to remain in the public eye. But, with the world of show business as cut throat as ever, one day you are a star in the making, and the next a washed up nobody. So, here are 15 celebrities who won't be famous in 2018.
15 Louis Tomlinson
It had to be one of them right?! Announcing a year's hiatus in 2015, One Direction have still yet to return, with each of the boys seemingly doing their own thing. Quitting the band before the intended break, Zayn Malik went on to release his own material, all while hooking up with 'it' girl Gigi Hadid. Undergoing somewhat of a make over, Harry Styles also recently released some new material, as did Irish born and resident bottle blonde Niall Horan. With it down to just two members, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, it became clear that Tomlinson would be the one to go and never return. Releasing a new song earlier this year, the music just wasn't good enough, especially when compared to that of his ex band mates. And, even if Liam has yet to release anything, he recently announced the birth of his new child with pop star Cheryl Cole, thus is seems extra clear that Louis will be the one we will all forget, with his presence also often forgotten when in the band itself.
14 Hailey Baldwin
Firstly, it's hard to understand how Hailey is famous in the first place. Not even the daughter of prime Baldwin Alec, Hailey is the spawn of the seriously freaky youngest of the Baldwin brothers, Stephen. Somewhat of a model, Hailey has appeared on a number of magazine covers, but lacks the potential of superstars and her fellow pals, Kendall and Gigi. Instead, Hailey shot to fame due to her famous ex-boyfriends, counting Justin Bieber as one of them. That's right, only dating for a few months, the pair were at one point splattered all over each other's Instagram, declaring their love for one another for all to see. However, in typical Bieber fashion, the unruly pop star and his penchant for mood swings, dumped the one time model in order to find love with Sofia Richie. See you around Hails.
13 Kristin Cavallari
Managing to stick around for longer than she really should have, it seems likely that 2018 will be the year that Kristin Cavallari finally goes back into the shadows where she belongs. Initially becoming famous way back in 2004, Cavallari rose to fame through the popular reality show, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. After the show ended, Cavallari moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, yet somewhat failed to do so. Realizing that she didn't have what it took to be a Hollywood star, Cavallari began working with a number of charities, raising awareness for funds such as AIDS and HIV research. However, still seemingly desperate for fame, Cavallari recently released the self-indulgent book, Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making it all Work, detailing her oh so difficult live of a mother of three, as well as being married to a quarterback.
12 Rita Ora
At one point Rita Ora was going places, travelling the world and selling out music arenas. However, after a few questionable decisions, as well as a number of musical bombs, Ora has somewhat slipped into the background. Originally born in Kosovo, Ora and her family relocated to London, England, growing up in West London, and attending the notorious Sylvia Young Theatre School. Shooting to fame early on, Ora then went through a number of high profile relationships, all through the eyes of the paparazzi. Dating Calvin Harris from 2013 to 2014, the DJ famously dumped her for Taylor Swift. Also accused of breaking the heart of Rob Kardashian, Ora was then blamed for the sock designer's subsequent weight gain and depression. Having not toured since 2012, Ora can often be seen travelling the world with her harem of friends instead, not really doing much.
11 Kevin Jonas
To be fair, if it wasn't for the high profile statuses of the girls they date, brothers Joe and Nick would also be on this list. However, due to this one getting hitched so early, he has now finally been banished to the point of no return. Oldest of the musical pop group, The Jonas Brothers, Kevin has also been credited with creating the band. Thanks for that Kev. Marrying all around regular girl Danielle Deleasa in 2007, the love birds later starred in the reality TV show, Married to Jonas. Still happily married, the couple now have two children. Laying low for a number of years, albeit not by choice, Kevin's last media appearance was as a contestant the seventh season of Celebrity Apprentice. Fired in the second episode, Kevin left with his tail firmly between his legs, never to be seen again.
10 Azealia Banks
Musically gifted, Azealia Banks is her own worst enemy, often embroiled in a number of spats that have reflected badly on her talent. Never far from controversy, Banks is known for her outlandish comments, gaining somewhat of a reputation. From sticking up for Bill Cosby, to regularly displaying homophobia all over the internet, Banks took it one step further when starting a dispute with former One Direction member, Zayn Malik. Tweeting claims that he had borrowed ideas from her music videos, Banks then went on to describe the pop star as a, "curry scented bitch", as well as a number of other derogatory comments. Now, a vocal fan of President Donald Trump, Banks recently took to Twitter to congratulate the country's leader on his victory, stating, "He is my f*cking hero right now. I am elated."
9 Shia LaBeouf
Where do we start?! Child star and somewhat drama queen, Shia LaBeouf started life on the popular kids TV show, Even Stevens. Making it big years later, LaBeouf starred in the acclaimed, Disturbia, placing him firmly on the Hollywood map. On the road to becoming the next big superstar, the future looked bright for the rising star when he was cast in the popular franchise, Transformers, and as the son of Indiana Jones, in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. However, like all good things, LaBeouf suddenly went stale, succumbing to a number of controversies and legal issues. Charged with assault with a deadly weapon in 2005, LaBeouf was also involved in a number of fights as well as more and more arrests. Releasing short film HowardContour.com in 2013, LaBeouf was swiftly accused of plagiarism, noting extreme similarities to another movie. Since the accusations, a number of other examples of plagiarism have been noted in his work, causing LaBeouf to later claim that "copyright laws are too restrictive".
8 Katherine Heigl
Once the one time queen of the chick flicks, Katherine Heigl was kind of a big deal a few years ago. Playing doctor Izze Stevens on the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy from 2005 to 2010, Heigl even won an Emmy award for her work. Going on to star in several high profile movies soon after, Heigl appeared in the critically acclaimed, Knocked Up in 2007, as well as starring in the ultimate chick flick 27 Dresses. However, suddenly disappearing from the spotlight, Heigl was accused of being difficult to work with, with her reputation suddenly taking a stern beating. That's right, known for airing her dirty laundry in public, Heigl publicly declared that the film that made her famous, Knocked Up, was in fact sexist, and that the writing on the show that made her famous, Grey's Anatomy, was bad. Hmmm that must be the reason why she's not around anymore.
Only famous for his ex-girlfriends rather than his actual music, rapper Tyga had better start looking for another one before it's too late. Beginning with Rob Kardashian's baby mama, Black Chyna, the two were together for a number of years, even having a child in the process, as well as getting engaged. Involved in a bitter breakup, Tyga needed cheering up, seeking out the youngest of the bunch Kylie Jenner, who he originally met when she was just fourteen years old. Splitting a variety of times over the years, the pair is officially off, with Kylie said to have dumped his ass earlier this year. Embroiled in a number of legal issues, Tyga was recently ordered to pay an $80,000 settlement to a former landlord, who rented a home to the rapper in the city of Calabasas, California. Never actually paying the outstanding debt, it seems 2018 will be a year to remember for the one time celebrity, for all the wrong reasons.
6 James Franco
Hollywood's biggest douche, James Franco is surely on his way down the social ladder. Initially famed for his work on movie, 127 hours, which he was nominated for an Academy Award, Franco's career suddenly went downhill, starring in a number of flops, with his personality also attributed to being a bit of an idiot. Known for being a sleazeball, Franco received worldwide attention when it was revealed that he had tried to accost a 17-year-old fan via social media. With the online conversation released to the public, Franco can be seen asking if the teenager has a boyfriend, as well as inviting her to his hotel room. Discussing the incident, Franco claimed, "I saw her and she said on her page, 'I love James Franco! Blahblahblah. 'Well, OK, you look interesting. I don't know how old you are,' I was a gentleman. I said, 'Do you have a boyfriend?' And her response was, 'Not when you're around.' So that to me sounds like, OK, she's interested." Douche.
5 Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan should have vanished years ago, yet somewhat managed to stay afloat. One time queen of the screen, Lohan was on her way to the top, starring in cult favorite Mean Girls, as well as a number of other successful movies. However, things soon came crashing down when Lohan found herself on the party scene, eventually ending up in prison as a result. But, it was her political interest that really sealed the deal, when Lohan offered her services to Barack Obama's election campaign, but was ultimately rejected. Not really understanding the political system, Lohan somewhat involved herself in several political movements across the world, tweeting nonsense with regards to Brazil and Brexit. Now, with it reported that Lohan has decided to become a Muslim, the starlet was recently spotted carrying a copy of the Quran.
4 Josh Radnor
At one point in time Josh Radnor was all over our screens, playing the role of main character, Ted Mosby on the award winning sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. That's right, for nine seasons, Radnor played the unlucky in love Mosby, with audiences tuning in every week to try and get that one step closer to finding out who on earth the mother actually was. However, as soon as the show ended, Radnor somewhat disappeared from our screens, preferring to discuss his views on pornography instead. Yep, an avid opponent of the alternative movie business, Radnor recently stated, "I'm not a porn addict, though I believe the addiction is real. I didn't grow up in any kind of repressive, super religious environment. I never felt I was in danger of eternal damnation or anything... I do believe porn is a huge problem that has to be confronted. The battle, though, is ultimately an internal one." Interesting.
3 Lena Dunham
Actress, writer, producer and director, Lena Dunham is best known for writing and creating the award winning HBO series, Girls. Running from 2012 to 2017, Dunham has won a number of awards for her work on the show, and became the first woman to win the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing. However, never far from controversy, Dunham has been involved in a number of disputes since her rise to fame, especially with regards to race. Criticized for her constant use of white characters, despite the show being set in the mega diverse culture pot of New York City, Dunham was accused of only using black and Asian characters as plot devises. Releasing her book, essay collection, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned", in 2014, Dunham wrote about an attack, in which she was sexually assaulted. Criticized with regards to the accuracy of the account, Dunham was accused of instigating hate towards an innocent victim, with the wrong man accused of committing the crime.
2 Perez Hilton
More of a hope that he won't be famous in 2018 than anything else, Perez Hilton's time at the top must be coming to an end soon right? First rising to fame as an American blogger, Perez, real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., was known for his brutal portrayals of celebrities all over the world. Posting pictures with his own captions, Perez would often draw sexual organs and graphic content all over the innocent celebs. As well as being an all around douche, Perez was also famous for outing celebrities on regular occasions, despite being a homosexual himself. Garnering a huge amount of backlash for his actions, Perez claimed, "I don't think it's a bad thing. If you know something to be a fact, why not report it? Why is that still taboo?" Now, regularly photographed trying to cause more controversy, Perez's days are numbered, with his shocking antics now seen as a desperate attempt to stay in the public eye.
1 Jonathan Cheban
With the world still trying to figure out why this guy his famous, 2018 will hopefully be the year in which he disappears. Best friend of Kim Kardashian, Jonathan Cheban has been clinging onto the socialite ladder for some time now. Originally hailing from New Jersey, Cheban's birth date is questionable, with Cheban often lying about his age. Coming from a background of PR, Cheban has met a number of celebrities through his work, often organizing their birthday parties, or special events. Appearing on the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, several times, Cheban then started his own spin-off show, named The Spin Crowd. Not nearly as popular, the show bombed, and was cancelled after one season. Now, a self styled food guru, Cheban regularly travels the world, taking pictures of food... and eating it.
