The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular shows on television. This is due in part to the outstanding acting that comes from the three female leads: Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik. While Cuoco is the only one that has been there since the beginning, all three have added their own charm to the series.
Below you're going to not only get to see photos that highlight just how beautiful these women are. You will also get insight that any fan of The Big Bang Theory will be sure to love. Included are quotes from all three women throughout the list, allowing them to put in their own words about what their favorite elements of the show are.
We also have surprising details like why Cuoco doesn't like watching the earlier seasons, what element left Bialik stunned and Rauch's dire financial situation prior to getting cast. Though when you also learn how much they get paid, you'll probably agree that financial difficulties probably isn't going to be in her future.
These are 15 Facts About The Big Bang Theory Girls
15 Melissa Rauch Was At The Unemployment Office Prior To The Role
While this list is going to also allow you to get a peek at how much money The Big Bang Theory cast brings home, you're also going to learn a bit about their life before the series. For Melissa Rauch, things were definitely looking bleak before she got the call that changed her life
“I was at the unemployment office the week before I got the job. I was thrilled to just get the audition for a one-time guest star role on Big Bang, as I was a fan of the show. So, the fact that I am a regular part of the cast is something I am eternally grateful for.”
Rauch has used the role on The Big Bang Theory to continue expanding as an actress, including appearing in The Bronze which she wrote with her husband. While Rauch was a fan of the show, you may be surprised to hear that Bialik, on the other hand, had not seen an episode by the time she auditioned.
14 Kaley Cuoco Doesn't Like To Watch The Earlier Seasons
There are many television shows that take a few seasons to get the ball rolling. But when explaining why she dislikes watching the earlier seasons, Cuoco has what might be an odd complaint
"I do stop and watch because I'm appalled by what I'm seeing. I'm like, 'Kaley, what is that choice?' I usually put it on mute because I cannot stand the sound of my voice, especially early on. But (I look to) kind of see what I was wearing, and it's hilarious."
While we think you may call her outfits sexy more often then hilarious, we suppose she would have a biased opinion!
13 Why Mayim Bialik Auditioned
On this list, we include just how dismal of a situation Melissa Rauch was looking at prior to her getting her role on the show. Rauch isn't the only one who was desperate for a job though. Despite her acting background, Mayim Bialik revealed her true intentions for auditioning for the role in a past interview
"When I auditioned for Big Bang Theory, I wasn’t looking to be a full-time actress again; I just wanted to make enough money, literally, to pay for health insurance. Now I’m in this situation where I really love my job. It’s relaxing. I’m a part of this incredible ensemble of actors with really great writing, and I’m as happy with one joke as I am with 20."
Bialik also admitted that she had never seen the show prior to auditioning.
12 Why Cuoco Thought The Show Got Picked Up
It can be hard enough trying to get a new television show made. The situation was even harder back during the writer's strike, something that badly impeded The Big Bang Theory. The first season consisted of 8 episodes, but in an interview, Cuoco revealed why she thought the show ended up getting picked up
"We had eight episodes filmed for our first season, and when the writers’ strike happened we thought we were done for. But they kept airing those eight shows. And the most genius thing was they started showing us on planes, where you’re stuck unless you hate something so much you want to jump off."
11 How Bernadette Was Described
There is no denying that every actor on The Big Bang Theory has added their own quirks to the characters. For Melissa Rauch, it may have been the flair she added that helped her land the role
"The character description just said something like, 'Cute, sweet catholic scientist who goes on a date with Howard.' I knew she lived with her mother and that her mother dressed her, so I wanted to do something that made her more child-like, and I thought of raising the pitch of her voice a bit."
While there are many talented actresses on the show, we wouldn't be surprised if Rauch was your favorite.
10 Kaley Cuoco Knew Instantly She Was Going To Crush On Galecki
There is no shortage of actors whose on-screen romance has led to some lovemaking away from the set as well. The Big Bang Theory is yet another example of this, as Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki were knocking boots for several years. When talking with Playboy, Cuoco reflected on her thoughts when the two first started their relationship
"When I fell for Johnny Galecki, we both knew immediately that we had this connection, and that was it. Even though in the back of your head you’re like, Oh my God, this might end really bad … You’re just in it. When that fire, that attraction is there, no one’s going to tell me no. I love being a girlfriend, and I’ve had a lot of long-term relationships, but this whole dating thing is new to me."
9 They Openly Bicker But Have A Fun Filming Routine
Actors can definitely be known to have some incredibly long days on the set. But anyone who watches their favorite series come to an end knows that it can be an incredibly emotional experience for the actors. Kaley Cuoco is well aware of this, and in a past interview she reflected on her feelings, as well as revealing a fun ritual the gang has
"When you do a series, you’re in a family. We fight, we bicker, but every Tuesday night when we film, the five of us get into a little circle—even when we don’t want to—and say, “I love you.” I try to keep everyone together because they get a little scatterbrained. I feel like Wendy to the Lost Boys. I tell them, “Ten years from now, we’re not going to be here and we’ll wish we were. These little moments are important.”
8 Bialik Had No Idea The Proposal Was Coming
One of the biggest elements of The Big Bang Theory is the relationship between Amy Farrah Fowler and Sheldon Cooper. The end of season 10 saw the two potentially taking a big leap as Sheldon got down on one knee. Audiences were shocked, but perhaps not as much as Bialik who in an interview said
"My jaw was on the floor . . . I literally had no idea this proposal from Sheldon was coming. Like: none."
We're sure fans are going to be ecstatic at the idea of getting to see the two of them plan a wedding throughout the current season.
7 How Much They Get Paid
It was reported back in March that Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Kaley Cuoco were to be taking pay cuts for the 11th and 12th season. Instead of earning $1 million per episode, they dropped to $900,000 and Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik were reported to get upwards of $425,000.
When talking about the matter though, Bialik responded
“I think in general, don’t believe everything you read. I’m not specifically speaking about that,” but did also say
“I’m happy to report that we have a very cohesive cast and we all know that our strength is together. We all really love each other, we love going to work and we’re very excited to do two more seasons.”
Regardless of if those exact specifics are right, it's definitely a close approximation of their earnings according to reports.
6 What Melissa Rauch Has In Common With Her Character
Melissa Rauch's character spends some time waiting tables at The Cheesecake Factory, but Rauch revealed she's actually never been. That doesn't mean she couldn't still relate to Bernadette though!
“I’ve actually never been [to the Cheesecake Factory]. However, I am similar to Bernadette in that we both spent some time waiting tables. I worked at a sports bar in New York City during college. It was before fantasy football was online, so people would come in with their notebooks. One time I spilled a pitcher of beer all over someone’s fantasy notebook. It really f—ked up his draft.”
Yikes! No amount of apologies was probably enough to save that guy from having his night get seriously ruined.
5 Just How Smart Mayim Bialik Is
If you're a fan of Mayim Bialik, you're probably aware of how intelligent she is. But just in case you don't, it is definitely worth noting that she achieved her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCLA. As well as this, Bialik wrote the book Girling Up: How to Be Strong, Smart and Spectacular. When talking about the book, Bialik said
"I wrote a book kind of about all things female. From puberty and sex and dating and hormones, to how we learn and what we put in our bodies, how we cope with difficult things and how ultimately we can make an impact in the world. The book’s written for 10- to 18-year-old girls. But other people can read it who know girls in that age range.”
4 What Rauch's Favorite Episodes Are
What is your favorite episode of The Big Bang Theory? It's definitely not a question that is easy to answer. As you can imagine, it's also a question that the cast of the series is asked on a regular basis.
When talking about the matter, Melissa Rauch gave her own insight
"I tend to gravitate toward the episodes where we are doing things as an ensemble – the scavenger hunt episode, the one where we went to a science conference together and everyone is fighting, and of course, the coitus episode last season."
Those are definitely some of the most memorable episodes!
3 Bialik Loves How The Show Has Made Nerdy Cool
The Big Bang Theory is responsible for helping bring several things into mainstream popular culture. None perhaps bigger than the overall idea that being a nerd can be super cool. This is something that Bialik could absolutely relate to and when talking about it with ABC News said,
"I've always thought being a nerd is cool because I had no choice. But honestly, I credit our writers and our producers...I know plenty of people like all of these characters and so for me, it's gratifying to be able to play a scientist and also a female scientist who is exactly how she wants to be and who has a successful relationship...it took five years for them to kiss, but still."
2 They're All Up On Instagram
One of the best parts of watching your favorite shows in 2017 is that with social media you can truly get connected to the show in ways that you never could in the 90s. One of the biggest ways is through the usage of Instagram, which many actors use to promote their projects. Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, and Kaley Cuoco all have a fantastic following but the above photo is courtesy of Cuoco.
You can understand why the photo was quick to garner people's attention! With the series currently back for its 11th run, it definitely wouldn't be a stretch to see these stars updating their pages on a frequent basis with great photos.
1 There May Be Plans To Develop Amy's Family
While this list is peppered with quotes from the three lovely ladies, our next entry is coming due to the words of the showrunner Steve Holland. In an interview with TheHollywoodReporter, Holland opened up about the plans to potentially expand on Amy's family
"Moving forward on a wedding and finding a real way to do it, there's a good possibility that will include her family. We haven't gotten that far in the writing, so I can't say concretely, but it's certainly a thing that we're talking about: How to do that and who they are. We've seen her mom, very briefly, and have never seen her dad."
Sounds like some fantastic opportunities for great cameos and hilarious moments.
