15 Khal Drogo Rocked A Fluffy Pink Sock

When it comes to filming nude scenes, Clarke is no stranger to stripping it off herself. But in season one, she also got hot and heavy with Jason Momoa's character Khal Drago.

When talking about the scene, Clarke revealed just how much of Momoa she got to check out.

"I saw his member, but it was covered in a pink fluffy sock. Showing it would make people feel bad. It's too fabulous."

It was not revealed on if Momoa got to give insight on which color or the texture of the sock, but we're sure he's happy she gave him a positive review! That being said, you probably shouldn't expect Momoa to drop his pants for his upcoming leading role in Aquaman.

14 She Feels Nudity Was Necessary With The Story

Emilia Clarke can absolutely command your attention with her fantastic acting. But she definitely would not have gotten the part if she was not comfortable with nudity, which thankfully as you'll read, she was more than happy to do.

"Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros. If it’s gratuitous for gratuitous sake, then I will discuss with a director on how to make it more subtle. In either case, like a good Mother of Dragons, I’m always in control," said Clarke.

Clarke has also stripped it off for other roles, including one of her more recent films Voice of the Stone. She did, however, turn down the lead in 50 Shades of Grey because she didn't want to be known as the woman who always got naked.

13 She'd Be Down To Hook Up With Yara

You aren't going to think about Daenerys for long and not think of at least one of her steamy scenes. In a past interview, Clarke made a comment about being open to bringing more women into the mix

"There's mild flirtation, which is exciting, to say the least, get rid of Daario, bring on the ladies, why not?" when talking about Yara.

When asked if there was anyone she could hook up with, Clarke said

"The Hound … (Laughs.) I am seriously into the Hound. I really think I’d be really good with the Hound. It’s the hound for God’s sake!"

12 She Earns $1.1 Million Per Episode + What She Was Doing Before GoT

Emilia Clarke was struggling to get by financially prior to landing Game of Thrones,

"I was upselling for charities: 'Thank you for giving five pounds a month; have you considered giving six-pounds-fifty?' Soul-destroying. People responded by saying things like, "You evil person. I've just lost someone close to me." I did four shifts and walked out," said Clarke.

But she's become instrumental in the series and it was reported earlier this year that for season 7 and 8, Clarke will be earning $1.1 million per episode.

There are 15 episodes planned for the rest of the series.

11 While Headey Used A Body Double, Clarke Is All Her

Lena Headey made headlines when she elected to use a body double instead of herself for her infamous walk of shame. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, Clarke was later interviewed and made sure the audience knew that it was definitely not a body double when she got naked in season 6,

"This is all me, all proud, all strong. I’m just feeling genuinely happy. They were like, 'Here's the scene and we're going to get you a body double,' and I was like 'Whoa, what now?' No, no, no, no, I'm gonna do that. I'm proud. I felt very strong about it. If you're going to have yourself on camera appearing to be naked, be it my body or someone else's, then it might as well be mine," said Clarke when talking about the scene.

10 Her Father Passed Away 3 Weeks Before Season 7 Started Filming

Emilia Clarke suffered a tremendous tragedy in 2016 when her father passed away from cancer.

"I definitely think I'm still in varying degrees of shock. There's no measure for it. There are all of these books about grief, but there's no guide. Like, 'Oh, on Tuesday, you'll feel this, but on Thursday, you'll be here,'" said Clarke in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

Clarke had previously talked about her father in an interview back when the show was premiering, saying

"When I first read the scripts, I was on holiday with my family. I told my dad, you're not going to be able to watch the first five episodes."

9 She Wants All The Pretty Boys To Drop Their Pants For Queen Daenerys

We're sure Emilia Clarke has been asked 1,000 times on what she would want the ending of the series to be. Which is perhaps why she responded humorously when asked by Glamour magazine,

"I want to see Daenerys and her three dragons share the throne. Eat goat they've barbecued. And bring back all the pretty boys, get them to take their trousers down, and be like, 'I'm now the queen of everything! I'd like close-ups of all the boys' peni*es, please.'"

While we're probably not going to get some close-up shots of male genitalia, at least Clarke was original with her answer!

8 She Was Terrified When The Series Started

There is no shortage of emotions that must have been going through Clarke's mind when she stepped onto the set for the first time.

But no emotion was stronger than fear, as she explained in an interview

"I was just petrified! I genuinely was so scared — I was so fresh out, a year and a bit, so I’d done a couple of little things, but this was the first proper thing that I’d ever done. I was just thinking at any moment they would fire me, and at any moment they’d be like, 'Just joking, take the wig off.'"

7 She Views The Dragons As Her Children

Daenerys is awesome on her own, but of course, her dragons are always going to get people cheering when they make an appearance.

The love that Daenerys shares for her dragons has openly been talked about by Clarke in the past,

"Something about this maternal connection I had with the dragons from day [one]. I really got into Daenerys’s head, and the dragons are on so many levels the only children she’ll ever know. She has a huge amount of love to give, and all her family’s gone. She’s alone."

6 She Gives Some Serious Insight On The Jon Snow/Daenerys Connection

One of the most riveting online discussions for Game of Thrones has centered around the connection between Jon Snow and Daenerys.

When talking about it, Clarke admitted

"Spoiler alert -- I normally don't spend very much time in Belfast, but this last season I spent a little more time there. It's a really interesting season in terms of some loose ends that have been tied, some really satisfying plot points, some things where you're like, 'Oh, my God. I forgot about that!' Rumors are going to be confirmed or denied."

Belfast, for those who may not be aware, is largely where they film the scenes for the North; which hints at the very least that a Snow/Daenerys connection may be around the corner.

5 Her Dancing Skills Helped Her Get The Role

Emilia Clarke definitely impressed the studio heads at HBO enough to cast her in the role, but as good as her acting was, her dancing was apparently even more entertaining!

When talking about the audition, Clarke opened up

"[There was a] lot of adrenaline, lots of people from HBO there. And I was kind of anxious and at the end of the scenes and I was asking if there was anything I could do...make them some tea or something and David Benioff suggested I do a dance, so I did...I did the funky chicken dance and kind of morphed into the robot."

4 She Watched Cate Blanchett To Get Ready For The Role

Daenerys is one of the best examples in television and film of a strong female character. So perhaps naturally Clarke looked for inspiration from other women who exuded power,

"Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth was something she watched a lot in preparation for season one. And the fact that it's rooted in reality, to know I was able to replica a real, strong female leader," said someone close to Clarke.

Blanchett is an outstanding actress and we're sure she took it as quite the compliment when she found out that her performance helped inspire one of the strongest female characters of all-time.

3 The Women Are So Powerful Because They're Also Masculine

There are plenty of shows where men are the dominating force on the screen. But when looking at Game of Thrones, there is no shortage of powerful women in the series to get attached to.

When talking about why that may be, Clarke said

"I think that the reason why the women in the show are so incredibly powerful is that they can harness both the feminine and the masculine side within themselves. I think that to have the ability to be able to be sensitive, to acknowledge that sensitivity and then add strength to that is what makes it so much more powerful."

Whether or not Daenerys is your favorite female character, Clarke provided excellent insight on how some women are viewed in the universe.

2 Daenerys Brought Forth The Biggest Personal Change Of Clarke's Life

There is no shortage of actors who have become known for one character and never been able to escape it. At the very least if Clarke becomes associated with Daenerys, she can take solace in how much the character has helped her grow as a person

"There’s going to be a shake-up of my identity, I think. And I feel like I’m only going to understand what the last seven years have been when we stop,"

Clarke went on to say

"It makes me emotional to think about. It’s my beginning, middle, and end – the single thing that has changed me most as an adult."

1 She Wants Her Character To Inspire You

Game of Thrones is watched by millions of people, many of whom have reached out to Clarke and thanked her for the inspiration her character has had in their life,

"It is the most fulfilling and wonderful part of the job to be able to think that you might actually inspire someone in that way. To give someone confidence, and especially give young girls confidence," said Clarke in an interview.

While we're not too sure if the show is "young girl" appropriate, we're glad they're taking a positive message from it!
