Most of us love following our favorite celebrities around, whether in person or just via social media, TV, magazines, or other types of media. Some of us follow them simply because we love them and we want to know how they are doing, while others follow them around for selfish reasons, which in most cases are more destructive than constructive. Celebrities are always a source of juicy rumors, especially when we think they are getting fat, cheating on their spouses, or having children.

Wanting to know so much about our celebrities is usually a way of reassuring ourselves that the celebs who have great performances on screen are just normal people, like you and I. Furthermore, finding out to some degree that we might be better than them in the slightest possible way is always a delight of many, which is one of the reasons negative content about these celebrities spreads faster than wildfire.

Some paparazzi dedicate their lives to taking images of celebrities when they least expect it and in the most compromising of situations - images that they sell to media houses for tidy sums. Some paparazzi go overboard and follow the celebrities and their children everywhere they go, images that are not only illegal, but also very disturbing to the celebrities.

Most celebrities hate seeing images of their children on any platform without their consent, because such popularity limits the extent to which their children can enjoy life like other children whose parents are not celebrities. Can you imagine always fearing to drop off your child at school, because you never know whether someone will kidnap them and ask for a ransom for their return? Or, even worse, just because they know you are a rich celebrity? Such is the horror that celebrities have to live with if they do not protect their children from their fame.

Here are celebrities who have their reasons for wanting their children to grow up without having to deal with their parent's fame, celebrities who would do almost anything to protect their little ones.

This couple has two children, Esmeralda Amanda and Amada Lee, born in 2014 and 2016 respectively. It is amazing how Eva and Ryan kept their pregnancy a secret for seven months, only making the official announcement when Esmeralda Amanda was almost born. The same happened in Amada Lee's case, with the couple waiting until almost the delivery to share the good news with the world. The same way this couple keeps their relationship and the birth of their children a secret, they have kept the lives of their children private in every way. Since these two are famous, they do not want their fame to hurt their children in any way, because fame has a way of ruining young lives.

13. Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha

Although Kerry Washington has been acting since 1994 and appeared in many great films and series, her starring role in Shonda Rhimes's series Scandal is what truly gained her international recognition. In Scandal, Kerry Washington plays the role of a character by the name Olivia Pope, who is a very good crisis management expert in Washington and happens to be having an affair with president Grant. It seems Kerry Washington learnt how to keep secrets from Olivia Pope, because she is a pro when it comes to keeping her personal life private. In June 2013, Washington's marriage to Nnamdi Asomugha, a football player, was considered a surprise by many, and that was just a sign of how she was going to handle her family life. Although her public figure and roles on TV made it hard for her to hide her pregnancies, Washington and Asomugha intend on raising their two children Isabelle Amarachi born in April 2014 and Caleb Kelechi born in October 2016 away from all the publicity and fame of their careers.

Wade has always played for the Miami Heat since the 2003 NBA Draft where he was the fifth pick, a period during which he won three championships and featured in a good number of All-Star Games. Dwayne Wade is a wizard on the court and there is no question about that. However, when it comes to his relationships and personal life, people would consider Wade to be the luckiest man alive to be married to Gabrielle Union, but the unluckiest man when he chose to have a baby with his ex-girlfriend during a brief split with Gabrielle. Wade has three children, Zaire Blessing Dwyane Wade and Zion Malachi Airamis Wade whose mother is his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, and Xavier Zechariah Wade, whose mother is Aja Metoyer. We would not blame Wade for wanting to keep his relationship with Metoyer below the radar or protecting Xavier Zechariah from too much publicity.

Charlize is originally from South Africa, but obtained her American citizenship to gain dual citizenship. She is the first South African to win an Academy Award, which she won for her performance in 2003's movie Monster. Theron is on this list because she has two children, Jackson Theron and August Theron, both of whom are black and are adopted. Halle Berry has two children, Nahla Ariela Aubry and Maceo Robert Martinez, children that she had with her former partner model Gabriel Aubry and her ex-husband actor Olivier Martinez. Halle Berry is very active on social media, posting almost anything, including very sexy pictures of herself, however, she hardly ever posts images of her children. Lucy has continued to appear in films such as Kill Bill, Payback, Chicago, and she is the voice of Kung Fu Panda's Viper among other great roles. In 1991, a breast cancer scare forced her to undergo a surgery for the removal of a lump in her breast, but further examination proved that the lump was benign. Robert's mom is Jade Duell, Owen's former girlfriend and Finn's mom is Caroline Lindqvist, Owen's personal trainer. Owen might want his sons, especially Finn, to keep off the public eye, because Caroline Lindqvist was a married woman and the knowledge of Owen sleeping with a married woman is surely not what we would expect from him.

4. Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh

No need to ask whether you have heard the song Happy since almost everyone on the planet who has access to a radio station has heard of it. Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh got married in 2013, but they became parents in 2008 to their first child Rocket Ayer Williams. These two are masters at living a private life, which is the reason we have seen fewer images of Rocket than we would want. Furthermore, the handsome young man has three more siblings, who were born in January 2017, information that you probably might not have come across if you missed their September 2016 baby bump photos. It is highly likely that we will know very little about these children as they grow up, since up to now only a handful of people know their genders let alone their names or exact date of birth. Staying at home and enjoying the simple life, as their form of recreation is one of the contributing factors to their level of privacy.

Grant has an interesting personal life, where he has never married any woman, but has been in several relationships, including one with heiress Jemima Khan. However, Grant has four children, two with Tinglan Hong, a Chinese restaurant receptionist in London, and two with Anna Eberstein, a Swedish TV producer. What is interesting is that the two women were once pregnant at the same time, giving birth only two weeks apart. Grant's reasons for wanting his children not to be famous might not be the same as most mothers' reasons here, his reasons might be a bit selfish.

1. Vincent Kartheiser and Alexis Bledel

Vincent Paul Kartheiser and Kimberly Alexis Bledel got married in June 2014, after dating for about two years. Vincent and Kimberly are both celebrities who have acted in numerous films and it is through their acting that they met on the set of Mad Men in 2012 and started dating thereafter. It was hard for anyone to know about their relationship and engagement, because they preferred to keep their relationship private. These two prefer living a simple lifestyle over the Hollywood celebrity life, which was one of the reasons they sold their Brooklyn duplex penthouse in May 2016. If this couple had its way, information concerning their giving birth to a son in the fall of 2015 would not be out in public. Was it not for Scott Patterson, Bledel's co-star in Gilmore Girls, letting the information of her friend's status as a new mother, chances are that most people would still be in the dark about this.
