There have been countless instances of Disney stars dating other Disney stars over the years. In fact, Nick Jonas once stated, “We were all dating each other,” when reflecting on his glory days as part of the channel. What is interesting, though, is the long list of regular celebrities who have also dated Disney stars. Yes, there have been romances like this that you may never even have been aware of. Some of these couples had short-lived relationships while others dated for years. Needless to say, they are all equally very interesting.

It goes without saying that dating a Disney star is often no easy feat. The media seem to be obsessed with Disney-oriented romances, and there is definitely a demand among the public to see who the stars of their favorite childhood shows have grown up to date. So, if a celebrity is one who tries to keep a more low-profile about their dating life, they have made this quite a difficult task with their choice of companion.

Some of the romances on this list are quite questionable, proving once again that young  Disney stars are often affected by their early fame and don’t always grow up to make the best life decisions. Other relationships on this list were actually quite a suitable match, but alas–like countless famous romances–makes of the couples on this list just didn’t have what it takes to go the distance...

Macaulay Culkin

In late 2017, former child star Macauley Culkin, who you will surely be familiar with from the Home Alone movies, was seen getting cozy with none other than Suite Life of Zack and Cody’s Brenda Song. The pair, who worked on the movie Changeland, seemed to be double-dating with Seth Green and wife Clare Grant. Now, it appears that the duo are certainly a couple, as in December, they were seen wandering through the streets of Paris, holding hands and seeming rather smitten. It was also noticed that Culkin seemed a lot fresher than he has been in recent years and seems to be in a much better place. The pair was seen hugging on numerous occasions, and it really does seem like things are going great for the couple.

Rihanna

Way back 2007, the rumor mill when flying when pop star Rihanna was spotted out and about, enjoying some food with actor Shia LaBeouf. As most of you were probably aware of, LaBeouf is the former star of the iconic Disney Channel show Even Stevens. Fans hoped that a romance was about to embark between the two, but unfortunately, things seemed to dwindle out between the pair before they ever really begun. In 2009, LaBeouf opened up about how he couldn’t believe his luck when he received a text from Rihanna two years earlier, asking if he would like to join her on a date. “It never got beyond one date,” stated the actor in an interview. “The spark wasn’t there. We weren’t passionate about each other in that way, so we remain friends.”

Lucy Hale

The next star on our list, who you may not be aware dated a Disney star, is former Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale. After Hale appeared in an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place, she grew very close to David Henrie, who played Selena Gomez’ onscreen brother. Hale and Henrie went on to date from January of 2007 to March of 2009. Unfortunately, things didn’t end very amicable between the two, with Hale going on to claim that she has been cheated on by the Disney star. Hale once stated in an interview, “I’ve been cheated on. It sucks. People come in and out of your life for a reason. If you turn it into something good, you can move on.” It is largely assumed that the actress was referring to Henrie and the turbulent relationship they seem to have had.

Patrick Schwarzenegger

It is believed that model Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, was involved in a six-month relationship with former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus. The pair were spotted together numerous times during their short-lived relationship but eventually decided to call it quits. Initially, fans believed that the pair was simply on a break from their relationship due to their busy and conflicting schedules, but a source soon revealed differently. “It’s not a break. It’s done. They’re just in two different places in their lives—he’s in college and she’s focused on her music and career,” revealed the source. The pair reportedly hit a rough time in their relationship after Patrick was spotted by photographers, partying it up with two different girls in Mexico during his spring break last month. On the same trip, he was pictured receiving a helping hand from his ex-girlfriend as she applied sunscreen on a hard-to-reach place. It’s easy to understand why Miley was not impressed. Thankfully, the former Disney starlet has now reunited with her ex-fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, and seems happier than ever.

Victoria Justice

Many fans may not be aware but before Victoria Justice was once the star of the rather popular Nickelodeon show Victorious. Yes, she actually made an appearance on the Disney channel. Before starring in her own TV show, Justice guest-starred on an early episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. It’s said that the actress and Cole Sprouse dated briefly when they were only youngsters. In fact, Justice has since looked back at the time, saying that Sprouse was actually her first kiss. Aw, how sweet?!

Charlie Puth

Rumors started to fly in 2016 when Shake It Up star Bella Thorne was spotted kissing singer Charlie Puth on a beach. The pair was quick to claim that they weren’t dating, but drama still went down involving Bella’s ex and the star of Teen Wolf, Tyler Posey. Apparently, Bella hadn’t long broken up with Tyler at this point, so things got rather messy. Eventually, the former Disney star had to speak out to explain the situation, saying, “Honestly, Ty and I stopped dating and that was really difficult for me. It was definitely one of the hardest breakups I’ve been through. Everything just got way blown out of proportion. We weren’t even kissing in that photo. That photo makes it look like we’re about to kiss and we’re straight-up not about to kiss,” she explained. “I was a little bit butt-hurt in that sense. That it got out like that. Obviously, I had to text, call Ty. And Ty wrote me like, ‘It’s all good.’”

Avan Jogia

Avan Jogia, one of the stars of Nickelodeon’s Victorious dated The Suite Life on Deck’s Zoey Deutch for 5 years before the two decided to call it a day. Heads turned when the pair attended the Kids’ Choice Awards together back in 2012. Their romance was quickly proven to be real with the duo becoming inseparable in the following years. The pair was notorious for keeping their relationship secret, only showing glimpses into their romance through cute Instagram snaps. Jogia once stated, “Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I think that it’s mostly a choice. I think if you continuously choose to court the public’s attention to your relationship, you run the risk of asking them to pry more out of it, but it would also be a bit strange to totally ignore your significant other’s existence in public as well.”

Joel Madden

You may not have been aware that Good Charlotte band member, Joel Madden, dated Hilary Duff when she was just 16 years old. Madden was 24 years old at the time. You will, of course, be familiar with Duff for her starring role in Disney’s Lizzie Maguire. A while back, the star talked out about her relationship with Madden, saying, “It was so all encompassing. It was so intense. It was my life,” Hilary said. “It was like every minute of my day. It was pretty major.” The pair dated for three years from 2002-2006. In December of 2006, Madden went on to meet reality star Nicole Richie, and the pair soon began dating and welcomed their first child together in January of 2008. The pair wed in 2010 and have been happily married since that point. Duff went on to marry Mike Comrie in 2010 and welcomed baby Luca in 2012. Unfortunately, the couple filed for divorce in 2015.

Naya Rivera

You probably never knew that Naya Rivera, who starred in the popular TV series Glee dated Kim Possible and Hounded star Tahj Mowry in high school. Apparently, they met on a print shoot when they were just four years old, and their moms became friends. They were in an on-again-off-again relationship for some time before Mowry ended things because “he needed to date someone more on his financial level,” revealed Rivera in her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry. The star also revealed that the two are still good friends, though. Also in the memoir, the actress revealed that Mowry was her first ever kiss. Aww, how sweet?

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Beautiful actress Jennifer Love Hewitt began dating Boy Meets World actor Will Friedle in the 90’s after the pair was first introduced to each other by a mutual friend. While dating, the couple actually starred opposite each other in the 1997 teen comedy The Trojan War. Apart from that, Jennifer Love Hewitt also guest-starred on the iconic Scream parody episode of Boy Meets World. It’s thought that the couple’s relationship was rather short-lived, eventually dwindling out after a few short months. Isn't that the usual with young stars nowadays? It even seems like a few months is actually a long time by today's standards.

Jimmy Tatro

A few years ago, the breakout star of Netflix’s American Vandal dated Hannah Montana’s Emily Osment. Osment played a main character on the show in the form of Miley Cyrus’ onscreen BFF, Lily. The couple dated for over a year from around October of 2013 to March of 2015. During their relationship, they both preferred to keep their romance very much on the down low. When asked about her relationship with Tatro, the former Disney star revealed, “We don’t publicly talk about it but if you follow us on social media, you could figure it out.” The pair co-starred in the video “Fighting Couple” back in 2013. Unfortunately, things just didn’t work out for the couple in the long run.

Jesse McCartney

Singer Jesse McCartney was seen holding hands with Stuck in the Suburbs star Danielle Panabaker back in 2008. Both were seen later that night partying together, and there was no hiding that romance had blossomed between the two. The pair is assumed to have dated for about four months before calling it quits. Interestingly, Jesse actually co-starred on Summerland with Danielle’s little sister and a fellow star of the Disney channel, Kay. Alas, it seems that these two were never meant to be and fell a victim to the endless cycle of short-lived showbiz romances.

Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane, who you will obviously know as being the creator of the hit animated series Family Guy, as well as American Dad, dated Twitches star Tamera Mowry-Housley “for about one day,” as Tamera put it while guest-starring on Larry King Now, a few years back in 2014. It’s not quite clear how the pair only ended up dating for one whole day, but apparently, that’s the case. After her one-day relationship with MacFarlane, Mowry went on to marry journalist and former baseball player Adam Housley in 2011. In 2012, MacFarlane went on to date beautiful Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke for about 6 months.

Josh Hutcherson

Josh Hutcherson, who starred in The Hunger Games franchise, confessed a few years back, during an interview on TODAY in Australia, that he dated High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens. With Vanessa sitting right next to him, Josh joked how she broke his heart after the interviewer awkwardly asked them how long they’d been dating. He said, “We’re not… No. We were at one point, but she broke my heart,” Josh joked. “I’m just kidding. That was a while ago, we’re just really good friends now.” The pair starred alongside one another in the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island which was released in 2012, when the interview took place. So, it’s assumed that the duo dated sometime throughout 2011 while filming for the movie and one year after Vanessa’s very public breakup with fellow High School Musical actor Zac Efron.

Gigi Hadid

Supermodel Gigi Hadid dated Camp Rock’s Joe Jonas for a few months before they broke up due to scheduling issues and finding it difficult to see each other. Gigi had spent a great deal of time denying that Joe, who she had been friends with for years, was anything more than a friend of hers. However, in 2015, the pair was spotted together on numerous occasions, and there was no denying that a romantic relationship has developed between the pair. After their breakup, rumors started to spread that Joe wasn’t impressed with how fast Gigi moved on to date Zayn Malik. He stated, “I think it’s interesting that she moved on so quickly, I mean it was definitely very quick. It’s comical that I’m compared to him. That dude and I have been compared for years, I think it’s just funny. To be honest, I haven’t really listened to his music, but he can sing well.” Nevertheless, we’re sure that the singer is over this now, as he is currently engaged to Game of Throne’s Sophie Turner.
