15 Celebs Who Can't Be Within 100 Feet Of Their Ex

From time to time, we tend to forget that celebrities are people. With the spotlight surrounding them at all times, we keep up with their latest news and if that's not enough, we also have various social media platforms to follow their moves. And for so many years, celebrities were thought to be above the law since they often escape punishments or face simplified consequences.

But not everyone is so lucky as many of them have had restraining orders placed on them by the court. Just as with regular people, celebrity relationships can go very sour to take a turn for the worse and sometimes it becomes too much to bear for their partners.

From harassment to domestic abuse, there are many reasons that lead them to take action for their own safety. While we recognize famous figures for their roles and contributions to the entertainment world, that doesn't necessarily mean that we truly know them and their behind-the-scenes behavior. We always hear fans being shocked whenever a new scandal leaks, which goes to show that we have certain expectations that may not always be realistic.

Not every celebrity is a role model, nor should they have to be one, but that doesn't justify reckless behavior. Celebrities always have had to file restraining orders from creepy fans as well as stalkers, but the roles reverse with the former being held accountable. With today's list, we will be going through 15 celebrities who can't be within 100 feet of their ex.

15 Carmen Electra And Dennis Rodman

You don't have to be a sports fan to know who Dennis Rodman is. One of the most popular NBA stars from the 90s, he is certainly the most controversial and continues to be relevant today. When he wasn't up to trouble on the court, he found it in his personal life including his short lived marriage to Carmen Electra.

One year after tying the knot, the couple split up following some heated arguments that reportedly ended in physical attacks. The judge initially handed Rodman a restraining order before he also did to Electra to keep them away from each other.

It was probably for the best, especially when you consider all the words that have been exchanged by the ex-couple since the divorce. These days, Rodman is attempting to set up a basketball game between the United States and North Korea, so nothing too unusual.

14 Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva's relationship long, but the drama that followed their separation dragged on for several years that resulted in many lawsuits. In 2010, the couple split up and not much was heard about them until nearly three months later when Grigorieva filed in a restraining order, claiming that she had been assaulted by her ex-partner.

While Gibson did admit to slapping her, he refuted her full statement which claimed that he had punched her several times. Grigorieva was granted a restraining order against Gibson, which was later on dropped. She was initially supposed to receive $15 million in settlement but several factors came into play to significantly reduce the amount — including taped private conversations. She ended up only getting $250,000 after having lost out on another $500,000 due to her appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

13 Chris Brown

Chris Brown had a fast rise to fame at a young age, and has been one of the most prominent figures of the music industry in the past decade. But trouble has always followed the singer with most of it stemming from relationship problems.

In 2009, Brown assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna during an awards show to the point he bruised her face. The judge ended up handing a five-year restraining order to Brown although it was cut to just two years.

A few years later, he was involved in another relationship and began dating Karrueche - which also ended in similar circumstances after he physically assaulted her and made threats over the phone.  A few months ago, another judge granted Karrueche a five-year restraining order against Brown

12 Jenna Jameson

There are so many random celebrity relationships that will always be hard to make sense of, but Tito Ortiz's marriage to Jenna Jameson will always top the list. What happens when a UFC Champion marries a star from the naughty industry? Things get pretty complicated to say the least - even more than one would expect.

After having dated since 2006, the couple had twins in 2009 but what followed was years of controversy surrounding their relationship. In 2010, they were both arrested after cops had been called due to a loud argument, and as it turned out, Ortiz had assaulted Jameson.

A brief restraining order was granted by the judge before they reunited as a couple until they split up in 2013. It was Ortiz who filed in a restraining order this time due to Jameson's irresponsible behavior.

11 Charlie Sheen

When it comes to restraining orders, Charlie Sheen is probably among the top record holders with numerous to his name. Not only did his former partners get a restraining order on him, but there was a temporary one involving his kids.

In 2005, his ex-wife Denise Richards was granted a restraining order following a dispute in which he threatened to attack her, and the terms indicated that Sheen also had to be 300 yards away from his daughters.

History repeat itself with his next marriage to Brooke Mueller, who got a restraining order after Sheen's public meltdown in 2011 while also demanding custody of their twins. She dropped the restraining order at a later time and came to an agreement with Sheen surrounding the kids, but that didn't stop the couple from divorcing.

10 Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp's marriage to Amber Heard lasted much shorter than most had anticipated by only making it slightly over a year. As usual in Hollywood divorces, it was a bitter end that stayed in the headlines due to Depp allegedly physically and verbally abusing his ex-wife.

Heard claims that he bruised her eye and threw an iPhone at her face, and the judged granted her a restraining order against Depp. Following months of disputes, the former couple came to an agreement with Depp paying $7 million to his former wife, while she had to drop the restraining order.

The former couple has recently re-emerged in the news when Depp was cast in the latest Fantastic Beasts, and everyone had an opinion to share including Amber Heard who went on Instagram to release a statement.

9 Terrence Howard

In 2010, Terrence Howard and Michelle Ghen tied the knot but things went south immediately after with the latter filing for divorce after just a year. She was also granted a restraining order against her husband after the judge found him guilty of having physically assaulted her numerous times throughout the marriage, while also threatening her.

Two years later, with the divorce being finalized, it appears that a second restraining order was put into place following another case of abuse. Howard had a different version for the events that transpired, claiming that his ex-wife had escalated things by using pepper spray on him.

When it comes to Howard, he has a history of being involved in domestic abuse after he admitted to also hitting his first wife. With Howard being currently on to his third marriage, the actor claims to regret his past actions while noting that he learned from his mistakes.

8 Allen Iverson

Ask anyone who witnessed the 90s to mid-2000s and they will tell you that Allen Iverson was one of the most enigmatic athletes of all time. He had people from all the world copying his style and moves, but as we have come to learn throughout the years: Nothing lasts forever.

Iverson went from a star to being an unwanted player overnight with his personal problems increasing. In 2010, Iverson's wife Tawanna filed for a divorce which wouldn't be finalized until 2013. The couple had been together since they were 16 years old and had 5 children together, but that didn't stop her from getting a restraining order against Iverson.

He was allegedly harassing and threatening her in numerous ways, which wasn't shocking once the history of the relationship had been leaked. The couple had been facing trouble since they first got married although they managed to stick together for over a decade.

7 Shaquille O'Neal

In 2008, Shaquille O'Neal was apparently involved in a fling with a former female rapper named Alexis Miller. But when that came to an end, she took him to court for allegedly threatening to harm her, as well as blackballing her from the music industry by paying off artists to not collaborate with the aspiring rapper.

She added that Shaq had been stalking her and leaving creepy voicemail messages, which got her a restraining order against the former NBA star. I guess it is warranted when you call your ex to simply make strange noises while breathing hard. While her rap career never blossomed, she did go on to join Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and featured in several episodes.

While it remains unknown how the case between O'Neal and Miller ended, it appears that they both chose to move on so the restraining order has likely ended by now.

6 Lindsay Lohan

Since Lindsay Lohan's breakthrough in the industry, controversy has followed her everywhere to the point she has become blackballed from Hollywood. In 2008, she was dating Samantha Ronson but it seemed like that relationship would come to an end every single day.

Known for nearly never being on good terms, they broke up in 2009 and the arguments carried over to Twitter. It is said that Ronson and her family was being harassed by the actress, so she requested a restraining order against Lohan.

It was apparently granted for a short period of time before it was pulled out as controversy continued to surround the former couple. New details seem to emerge from time to time, but the majority of people who once cared to keep up have probably also moved on by now.

5 Robert Kardashian

Who could have predicted the fate of Robert Kardashian and Blac Chyna's relationship? Probably everyone except for those two. With controversy surrounding the couple from the beginning, it was deemed to fail from the very first day, especially when you consider their past history.

But things took a turn for the worse and got even uglier than expected with the former couple taking their dirty business to air out across social media. This included many posts from Kardashian where he leaked her phone number, personal information as well as naked photos.

A few months ago, the court granted Blac Chyna a restraining order against her ex following claims that he had pushed her several times, while being abusive towards her in various ways.

4 R. Kelly

Everyone is probably familiar with R. Kelly's history by now. Despite his tremendous success in the music industry, it has been often overshadowed by his real life problems which didn't paint him in such loveable image.

He was married to Andrea Kelly for 13 years until a divorce was finalized in 2009, but their relationship was filled with moments that put them in the spotlight. In the mid 2000s, they separated for some time after he had attacked, threatened and stalked his wife, which pushed the judge to hand him a restraining order.

Once it expired in 2005, Andrea opted to not extend it for the time being, claiming that they would work on their marriage problems. Although they did manage to survive for a couple more years, their relationship was beyond repair.

3 Matt Prokop

Matt Prokop and Sarah Hyland is another couple that stayed in the news for so long, not only due to their relationship but also the controversy surrounding it. After having met while filming High School Musical 3, they stayed together for several years but it seems like it wasn't the best of times for Sarah who was a victim of domestic abuse.

According to some files that had leaked, Prokop was verbally and physically abusive during their relationship, and even once choked her. Once the judge granted her a restraining order against her ex, Prokop was very persistent and continued trying to reach her by harassing the actress and her entourage.

With the restraining order recently expiring after two years, it seems like both have now moved on with new partners following years of being linked together.

2 Edward Furlong

The '90s were so great to Edward Furlong that he probably wish he could have lived in that decade forever. Since then, the actor's career has taken a major hit due to his real life troubles that keep following him. His first wife Rachael Bella filed for a restraining order and was granted one after Furlong allegedly attacked her.

Their six-year-old child tested positive for cocaine under his father's watch, which made the judge enforce some strict orders. Furlong violated his restraining order and it wouldn't be the last time - he began dating another woman which also ended on bad terms as she had to also get a restraining order.

Furlong went on to violate it twice in a span of a few months after having been arrested for domestic violence. He has been away from the spotlight in the past few years, and seems to only make the news whenever he lands into some trouble.

1 Jack White

Jack White had been married to Karen Elson for 8 years before they finalized their divorce papers in 2013. They had two children together, which complicated the break-up for some time. Shortly after the divorce, Elson filed and was granted a restraining order against her ex-husband with claims of harassment and fear for her kids' safety. According to leaked reports, White had done so through e-mails and texts as things appear to have never escalated into more than possible threats.

In a recent interview, Elson claimed that White had been a great father to the kids and gets along with them very well, so it appears that the couple has worked out their differences for the sake of the kids. Although it's probably never going to evolve into another romantic relationship. As for the restraining order, it expired a while ago and Elson chose not to extend it as they attempted to patch things up.
