The Real Story Behind Hilarious Internet Memes Pt. 3

We love searching the web for Internet memes that are sure to make us crack up laughing. These viral images gain popularity on websites such as Reddit and Tumblr, and within days, they be-come the most popular images on the web. Even celebrities can’t help but to join in on the fun!

Kermit the Frog’s “But That’s None of My Business” memes were definitely one of the funniest images to hit the web. The lovable character is used with an image of the frog sipping tea or drinking a milkshake, along with captions that poke fun at questionable behavior that takes place on the Internet and beyond. Even Lebron James used the phrase as a hashtag on his

Instagram feed.

Another childhood character who was turned into a meme was Gene Wilder, the late actor who played Willy Wonka in the classic movie, “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” A scene from the movie was transformed into a meme that includes condescending phrases such as, “Oh, you just graduated? You must know everything.” Redditors have since made this meme one of the most popular viral images of all time.

Another well-loved character who was recreated into a meme is Ariel of “The Little Mermaid.” A Tumblr user photoshopped glasses onto Ariel’s image and renamed her, “Hipster Ariel.” This meme gained popularity on the blog, “F*** Yeah Hipster Ariel.” Quotes poking fun at hipsters were included on the memes, including the caption, “I left the ocean, it’s too current.” The image became so popular, it even received a feature on “Time” magazine’s website.

It’s impossible to navigate the Internet without running into the Futurama Fry/Not Sure If meme. The image of Philip J. Fry was taken from the season 2, episode 6 show entitled, “The Lesser of Two Evils,” and features Fry’s quizzical face. Captions such as, “Not sure if trolling, or just

stupid” were placed on the image to make it one of the funniest memes we have seen.

By far, Kim Kardashian’s Crying Face is one of the most comical Internet memes. Even though we feel bad for laughing at Kim when she’s in distress, we can’t help but giggle whenever she breaks down in tears on an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Because Kim is so emotional, her ugly cry face has been captured from various episodes, and used for funny memes with captions such as, “When all of your leggings are being washed and you’re forced to put on jeans.” We secretly can’t wait for Kim to cry again so that we can have another image to add to the growing collection of Kim Kardashian’s Crying Face memes.
