Every year, hundreds of thousands of young kids take part in beauty pageants. Once they hit the stage, they look adorable and absolutely beautiful. But most people don’t realize all the work that goes into getting ready for a competition. Many parents spend thousands of dollars on hair, makeup, and glitz clothing to help give their child an edge over the competition. You won’t believe what some parents will pay in hopes that their child will take home the crown. If you really want to see the true costs of these competitions, make sure you watch our video: The Price of Beauty in Kids Beauty Pageants.
We’ll be showing you just how pricey many pageants can be, from $4,000 glitz dresses to $1,000 training sessions. Many parents think these sessions are well worth the price. They teach their child how to have good etiquette and how to talk properly to impress the judges. While outsiders might see this as a waste of money, pageant parents consider it an investment.
One of the most controversial expenses in pageants has to be the flippers. They’re a dental accessory that gives young contestants the appearance of a mouth full of beautiful, white teeth. “Toddlers & Tiaras” star Isabella Barrett had a pair of flippers that cost her $500 in total! But that’s nothing compared to the cost of glitz head shots. For a package of four pictures, the cost is close to $1,000.
