We all love the natural world but let’s be honest, it’s the big boys of the planet that really hold our fascination. No one is going on safari to see a bug or travelling far into the ocean to look for bacteria. Okay, some people are, but they are weird. We love the giants, those huge creatures that make us feel some of that awe and even fear that has been a part of our evolution for millions of years.
Here is who we’ll be looking at today. Hercules the liger, the largest living cat in the world and a crossbreed between a lion and a tiger. The giant squid; the creature that inspired the kraken and many other sailor stories. Jeff the rabbit, who lives in the UK and is trying to beat his dad to the world record. Big Jake, a farm horse from Wyoming who needs special stables. Freddy, a Great Dane who loves destroying the family furniture. Crabzilla, a japanese spider crab who has found a new home in Holland. Giant tortoises from the Galapagos who live over 100 years and take life at their own pace. Lolong, a saltwater crocodile with a bite many times worse than a great white shark. Finally, Ocean sunfish, a huge dumb giant of the ocean who survives with a sneaky trick.
