Actor Luke Wilson, brother of Owen Wilson, was involved in a fatal car crash earlier this week.

Wilson was driving north on Chautauqua Boulevard in Pacific Palisades Tuesday evening when a Ferrari clipped his car, causing it to collide with a BMW, according to Page Six. 71-year-old Mark Gibello, the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was none other than pro-golfer Bill Haas, who was treated for his injuries at a hospital and later released.

Haas has withdrawn from competing at this week's Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. The 50-year-old woman who was driving the BMW was admitted to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Thankfully for 46-year-old Wilson, he was unhurt. Representatives for Wilson haven't commented on the incident, but Bill Haas' team released a statement.

“Last night in Pacific Palisades, California, Bill Haas was involved in a serious car accident in which the driver — a member of the family with whom Haas and his family were staying for the Genesis Open — was killed,” they explained. “While Bill escaped serious injuries and has been released from the hospital, he is understandably shaken up and — more importantly — his deepest condolences go out to the host family during this tragic and difficult time.”

According to an eye-witness, Wilson, who has starred in a number of movies including Legally Blonde, was a hero at the scene.

"He was the hero, he led the charge," stated tattoo artist Sean Heirigs who saw the accident unfold. Wilson wasted no time in trying to provide help, pulling the driver of the BMW out of the smoking wreckage of her car. "She's crying, she's screaming, she doesn't really know what happened and she was dangling into the passenger's side. Her leg was stuck," said Heirigs. "We were able to get her leg out from being stuck and then she came out and Luke was pulling her through the back trunk area and then we both carried her to the curb. And this was all going on while the Ferrari's wheels are still spinning and blowing rubber and smoke everywhere and it's loud and you're smelling lots of smoke and there's glass."

Police are investigating whether speed was a factor in the crash.
