Man Dressed As Fred Flintstone Gets Pulled Over

It's rare to see anyone dressed as a cartoon character being pulled over, but it does happen.  The reality of it was brought to life when a Florida man named Don Swartz, was dressed as Fred Flintstone and had his car looking like the footmobile from the popular TV show known as The Flintstones.

Swartz was reportedly pulled over by a Pasco County deputy sheriff for speeding. However, the actual situation may not have been legitimate and could have been staged, as reported by WBTV. Swartz even became disorderly during the ordeal and had to be detained but we know it's staged because of this since the mock arrest had both the officer and the detainee posing for a photo that was posted to the Pasco Sheriff's Office's page on Facebook.

The most interesting part of this was the dedication that Swartz had put into it. Not only did he dress like Fred Flintstone but he also went into great detail on his smart car. He even went as far as to remove the doors. This all came complete with some classic Flintstones "wheels."

This was all in good fun and it's good to see this because more often than not officers do not have it easy when trying to create community engagement. Many people won't even say hello to a police officer but an incident like this could lead to more people being friendly with them, which is great for policing.

This has obviously gone viral since then and that's quite good for the police department, although it may raise some more serious concerns regarding vehicles like this on the road. They are somewhat safe but if anything was to fly off this car, it could lead to some damage to another person. However, this is likely not going to happen, but it should be something that's addressed since officers did come across a car without any doors and extra materials on its sides, front and back.

All in all, this was just a staged pullover that made for some great proactive police work out in the field, which not everyone sees. So, this is why it was a perfect example that the department can now use. Other than that, the vehicle may pose concerns for some people as it does, in fact, have some materials which could pose a danger on the road.
