Though it’s been on the air since 2005, ABC’s hit series Dancing with the Stars is still going strong. Now on its 28th season, some of the series regulars have received significant notoriety and become stars in their own right. Achieving this level of fame has helped the show’s top dancers earn a healthy living, and in some cases, successfully transition into other forms of entertainment.

With that in mind, we are going to take a look at the ten most financially successful pros to ever appear on Dancing with the Stars. Let’s get to it.

Lacey Schwimmer ($1.5 Million)

31-year-old Lacey Schwimmer comes from a family of professional dancers. Her father, Buddy Schwimmer, was an accomplished pro. The Redland’s California native’s brother, Benji Schwimmer, and cousin, Heidi Groskreutz, also dance for a living.

Lacey Schwimmer rose to prominence in 2007 after appearing on the 3rd season of So You Think You Can Dance. She would go on to compete in 6 seasons of Dancing with the Stars. The talented pro last appeared on season 13 with her celebrity partner Chaz Bono. Schwimmer even released her own single – a song called “Love Soundz.” Between her television appearance and music career, she is now worth an estimated $1.5 million.

Artem Chigvintsev ($2 million)

Russian-born dancer Artem Chigvintsev has had a very impressive career. The 37-year-old has appeared on Broadway in shows like Burn the Floor. He gained significant notoriety back in 2010 when he joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing (a British show similar to Dancing with the Stars). He would later debut on the 19th season of DWTS and was paired with actress Lea Thompson. During this time on the series, Chigvintsev has also worked with Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and WWE standout Nikki Bella. In fact, the Russian pro is currently dating his former partner, Nikki Bella.

At present, Chigvintsev is worth roughly $2 million.

Allison Holker ($2 Million)

Orem, Utah’s Allison Holker, is no stranger to the spotlight. The dancing pro has appeared on two of the industry’s most popular shows in So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. The 31-year-old even met her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, while she was a cast member on So You Think You Can Dance. Holker appeared on season 19 through 23 of Dancing with the Stars. During that span, she was paired with musicians like Riker Lynch, Andy Grammer, and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Holker also performed in both the opening and closing ceremonies at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The standout dancer is reportedly worth $2 million.

Mark Ballas ($3 Million)

Mark Ballas is the son of Corky and Shirley Ballas, both of whom are also professional dancers. The 33-year-old has appeared on several seasons of Dancing with the Stars. During his time on the show, Mark Ballas has won the Mirrorball Trophy twice with his Olympic partners Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson.

He also came in second on several occasions, having been paired with stars like Paige VanZant and Lindsey Sterling. Outside of dancing, the native of Houston, Texas, released his own music album, HurtLoveBox, back in 2011.

As one of the most successful pros in the history of DWTS, Ballas has managed to accumulate around $3 million in total assets.

Tony Dovolani ($3 million)

Tony Dovolani is a professional dancer who originally hails from Pristina, Kosovo. The 46-year-old was a longtime cast member on Dancing with the Stars having appeared on every season from the 2nd to the 22nd. Along with his partner Melissa Rycroft, Dovolani was the winner of the show’s 15th season. He also had a couple of 3rd place finishes with WWE star Stacy Keibler and Melissa Rycroft (during her 1st appearance on the show). Dovolani coached actress Jennifer Lopez for her role in the film Shall We Dance?, which he also appeared in.

In total, Tony Dovolani has a net worth of $3 million.

Derek Hough ($4 Million)

34-year-old Derek Hough has won more Mirrorball Trophies than any other pro on Dancing with the Stars. He has won the show an impressive six times with stars like Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jennifer Gray. He is the older brother of actress and fellow dancer, Julianne Hough. The Salt Lake City, Utah native, has also won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work as a choreographer. These days, Hough serves as a judge on the NBC show World of Dance.

Hough’s many accomplishments have helped him accumulated an impressive net worth. At press time, the Dancing with the Stars standout is reportedly worth a cool $4 million.

Valentin Chmerkovskiy ($5 million)

Valentin Chmerkovskiy is a profesioanl dancer who was born in Odesa, Ukraine. The 33-year-old is a 14-time U.S. National Latin Dance champ, who has made quite a name for himself as a cast member on Dancing with the Stars. Chmerkovskiy is the only member of our list who is competing in the current season of the show, with his partner Sailor Brinkley Cook.

In total, the Ukraine dance star has won two Mirrorball Trophies with his partner's actress Rumer Willis and Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez. He is also the brother of DWTS alum, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

The two-time DWTS champ has made some good money over the years and is said to be worth $5 million.

Karina Smirnoff ($6 Million)

Kharkiv’s Karina Smirnoff is one of several Ukranian dancers on our list. The 41-year-old has won numerous titles over the course of her illustrious career. However, she is arguably best known for her appearances on Dancing with the Stars. During the 13th season of the show, Smirnoff and her partner J.R. Martinez captured the Mirrorball Trophy. Besides dancing, Smirnoff has released her own fitness video and also posed for Playboy back in 2011. The DWTS standout was  a cast member on the E! television show Famously Single.

Between dancing and her side gigs, Karina Smirnoff was accumulated around $6 million in total assets.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy ($8 million)

Like his brother Valentin, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is also from Odesa, Ukraine. The 39-year-old has appeared in 17 seasons of Dancing with the Stars. He captured his first and only Mirror Trophy during season 19 when he as paired with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis. He is married to the current DWTS cast member, Peta Murgatroyd. The dancer has starred in Broadway plays, including Forever Tango and Burn the Floor. Chmerkovskiy has also appeared in several non-dance related shows like General Hospital, Fuller House, and The Exes.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy's crossover success has helped make the second wealthiest person on our list with a net worth of $8 million.

Julianne Hough ($10 Million)

Julianne Hough is the most recognized name on our list, so it only makes sense that she would be holding down the number one spot. The 31-year-old native of Orem, Utah’s big break came when she appeared as a pro in the 4th season of Dancing with the Stars. Hough won the first two seasons she appeared in with her partners Apollo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves.

Unlike other members of our list, the majority of Hough’s wealth didn’t come from Dancing with the Stars. The blonde starlet made a good chunk of her fortune appearing in major motion pictures like Footloose and the Fox television production, Grease. Hough tops our list with a net worth of $10 million.
