Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? was one of the most successful and beloved shows for teen/kids shows in the '90s, and the reboot can't come soon enough for those who grew up with the popular series.
Back in February, it was confirmed that there will be an Are You Afraid of the Dark? miniseries reboot. Well, get excited folks, because the premiere is only days away now.
It was announced Tuesday that the first two episodes of the three-part reboot of Are You Afraid of the Dark? will take place next Monday, Oct. 7 at the Beyond Fest in Los Angeles. Following the premiere, the stars of the miniseries will be taking part in a panel.
The reboot features a completely different cast, not the same one from the original series. Per Beyond Fest, The Midnight Society will share a story called "Carnival of Doom," which centers around Mr. Tophat - described as the "evil ringmaster."
Cast members for the Are You Afraid of the Dark? reboot include Lyliana Wray (Rachel) and Jeremy Taylor (Graham). The latter starred as Sonny Quinn in Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.
The series - filmed in Montreal Quebec - aired seven seasons and 91 episodes. "The Tale of the Twisted Claw" was the first episode to air in 1990, on the YTV channel in Canada. "The Tale of the Phantom Cab" was the first episode of the series to air in the United States - on Aug. 15, 1992.
A handful of major movie stars appeared in Are You Afraid of the Dark? during the early years of their filming careers. This includes Ryan Gosling (The Tale of Station 109.1) Boy Meets World star Will Friedle (The Tale of the Long Ago Locket), Hayden Christensen (The Tale of Bigfoot Ridge) and Elisa Cuthbert - who played "Megan" from the Midnight Society in seasons six and seven.
