Jay-Z certainly knows how to throw a party— especially for Juan “OG” Perez, the chief executive of Roc Nation Sports.
Roc Nation manages the careers of entertainers such as Big Sean, J. Cole, Kevin Durant, Rihanna, and Shakira. In 2014, Jay-Z helped the company start Roc Nation Sports to manage careers of athletes in the same way as the main division works with entertainers.
Fox News reported that the birthday party started at Zuma restaurant in mid-town Manhattan. The dinner check was around $13,000. After the meal, the party moved uptown to the Made in Mexico bar, where everyone enjoyed the luxury brand of D’Ussé cognac. The bar bill was about $9,000. Then they went to the Playroom nightclub, which is nearby.
At the Playroom, Jay-Z bought 40 bottles of Ace of Spades Champagne, a brand owned by the rapper, at the price of $1,200 per bottle. Jay-Z gave bottles of champagne to his six friends who were with him and to other tables of people at the club.
The shocked server at the Playroom was delighted to receive a tip of $11,000 for the check that totaled $91,135. The server posted a copy of the bill on Snapchat. All in all, Jay-Z spent over $110,000 on the party that evening.
Jay-Z bought the Ace of Spades brand during 2014, which has the official name of Armand de Brignac. It is called Ace of Spades due to the design of the bottle that includes a large ace of spades on it. After Jay-Z bought the brand, the champagne became extremely popular.
The champagne is made by the Cattier family that has worked on the same wine estate of 30 hectares since the 1700s. The winery is located in the Montagne de Reims region of Champagne in France. All the grapes are picked by hand and 10 workers handle the production of each bottle. This champagne beat out over 1,000 bottles, to be selected as the number one champagne in the world during 2009.
