There are 9 franchises taking part in IPL 2013. All these teams are owned by their rich and famous owners. Here are the details of IPL teams, owners and teams net worth.

1. Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders franchise is owned by Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan in partnership with Jay Mehta (husband of actress Juhi Chawla) with their respected companies Red Chillies Entertainment and by Mehta group. The owners bought the team at a hefty price of $75 million in 2008. The estimated brand value of KKR is $45 million approx. last year KKR got to clinch the “Champion” title.

2. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians franchise is owned by big conglomerate Reliance Industries, through its subsidiary IndiaWin Sports. Mumbai Indians was the most expensive franchisee with spending $111.9 million approx. for the team ownership till 2010. Sachin Tendulkar is a part of Mumbai Indians team since 2008. Mumbai Indians has a brand value of  $ 44.62 million.

3. Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings is the most consistent and successful franchise in IPL history.The franchise is owned by India Cements Co. led by BCCI chief N. Srinivasan. The owner has paid $91 million for the ownership rights of the franchise. CSK had won two IPL titles and always get to qualify for play-offs. The team captained by  Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a brand value of about $45.28 million.

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore

 

The franchise is one of the eight founder teams of IPL and owned by the UB group chairman  Dr. Vijay Mallya who paid $111.6 million for the team ownership. His son Sidhartha Mallya is the director of the team. The bid was second highest  for a team in IPL. The team is currently captained by Virat Kohli and has a brand value of $37.81 million.

5. Kings Eleven Punjab

The franchise represents Punjab in the IPL and the owners of the team are Preity Zinta, Karan Paul from Appeejay Surendera Group and Mohit Burman from Dabur. The joint venture paid a total of $76 million for the team ownership. The team has an above average performance in IPL history.Currently captained by Adam Gilchrist the team has a brand value of $30.78 million.

6. Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils franchise is owned by the GMR group founded in 2008. the GMR group has paid an amount of $84 million for the team ownership rights. The team represents Delhi in IPL and its home ground is Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium and Virender Sehwag is also a key player of the team. The team has made to qualify for play-offs for 3 times and for 2 times it reached up to semifinals. The team is currently captained by Mahela Jayawardene and has a brand value of $34.22 million.

7. Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals franchise is jointly owned by Manoj Badale, Ryan Tkalcevic, Lachlan Murdoch, Sir. Aditya S Chellaram, Suresh Chellaram, Raj Kundra with his wife Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. The group has paid $67 million for the ownership rights of the franchise, the least bid for any franchise. Rajasthan Royals clinched the “winner” title in the first ever season of IPL under the captaincy of Shane Warne. Currently captained by Rahul Dravid, the franchise has a brand value of $27.05 million.

8. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad replaced Deccan Chargers franchise from IPL 2013 season. The franchise is owned by the Kalinithi Maran of Sun TV Network. the company has paid $85 million for the ownership rights of the franchise for 5 years. Earlier Hyderabad franchise Deccan chargers were the winners of the IPL season 2009 at South Africa. The franchise has a brand value of $31.49 million.

9. Pune Warriors India

The franchise is one of the two IPL franchises added in 2011. The franchise is owned by Sahara Adventure Sports Limited, a group company of the Sahara India Pariwar which sponsors Indian Cricket Team also. The group has paid $350 million for the ownership rights of the franchise for ten years, the highest bid for any IPL franchise since 2011. Famous Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is associated with the franchise since 2011.The franchise has a brand value of $29.45 million.
