Serena Williams Files Trademark For Line Of Cosmetics

Serena Williams is about to get into the beauty business.

It’s no secret that Serena Williams is turning into a powerful force in the business world. She came out with her own clothing line back in 2004 cleverly named “Aneres” (that’s Serena spelled backward) where she sold all sorts of apparel for the sporty but fashion-conscious woman. Later in 2009, she came out with her Signature Collection of handbags and jewelry with the Home Shopping Network where her line still sells today.

Then in 2010, Serena became a certified nail technician to sell her nail collection called HairTech. Not sure how a tennis player advertises nails, but when you’re on the cover of Vogue magazine there’s really not much you can’t sell.

Now it seems that Aneres is coming out with its own line of cosmetics.

In documents first found by TMZ, Serena filed for a trademark on Aneres in a new line of beauty products. The line is certainly going to be comprehensive, listing a number of potential aesthetic items such as skin care prep, makeup remover, colognes, perfumes, makeup kits, bath soaps, lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.

This trademark means that Serena is about to enter the crowded celebrity cosmetic market. Pretty much everyone has their own line of beauty products, from social media starlet Kiley Jenner to actress Katie Holmes. Even First Lady Melania Trump has her own beauty line, although one can only assume if it weren’t for her more famous husband that would never have happened.

Serena should have a leg up on certain segments of the cosmetic market, especially those that are already customers of her line on the Home Shopping Network.

No word on when her cosmetic line will come out but expect Serena to Tweet something about it as soon as she can.

Meanwhile, Serena is set to battle her sister Venus at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the BNP Paribas Open. This will be the 29th time the Williams sisters have competed professionally, with Williams winning 17 of their last 28 battles.
