Jadeveon Clowney is one of the top remaining NFL free agents, but there hasn't been a lack of interest in the 2014 first overall pick.

Two weeks ago, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Clowney turned down an offer from the Cleveland Browns, who offered him the most lucrative contract.

But the Browns aren't the only team pushing hard to land Clowney. The Seattle Seahawks, who acquired Clowney in a blockbuster trade before the 2019 season, have been trying to retain the Pro Bowler.

Speaking on 106.7 The Fan (h/t Lindsey Wisniewski of NBC Sports Northwest), Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that the Seahawks gave Clowney an offer "in the range of $15 million on a one-year deal."

Florio also added Seattle has "been led to believe" that Cleveland offered Clowney $18 million. After finishing out his rookie four-year deal with the Texans, Clowney received the 2019 franchise tag from the Houston Texans.

The two sides never agreed to a long-term deal, and he was traded to Seattle in exchange for Jacob Martin, Markevious Mingo and a third-round draft pick.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Clowney recorded three sacks and four forced fumbles in his first season with Seattle. That marked his lowest since the 2015 season; Clowney had 9.5 and nine sacks in the 2017 and 2018 reasons, respectively.

The Seahawks had one of the NFL's worst defenses in terms of yards, scoring (they allowed 24.9 points per game) and sacks. Retaining Clowney would go a long way in helping their Super Bowl quest, but GM John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll typically stay away from handing out lucrative long-term contracts to veterans players.

But Clowney is young and still in his prime. He's been one of the game's best pass rushers over the past four years, and few could have expected him to remain a free agent for this long. Eventually, somebody will present Clowney a fair offer that he won't be able to turn down.
