Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has paced his team to a 5-0 start, and he's asserted himself as the MVP front-runner through five weeks.

Following another incredible performance on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5, Wilson joined the exclusive and special "99 club" in Madden 21.

The official Madden franchise Twitter account made the announcement on Wednesday;

Per Bleacher Report, Wilson is now the sixth member of the Madden 21 99 club. He joins Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey.

Wilson is off to one of the greatest single-season quarterback starts in history. He has a 72.8 completion percentage (currently a career high), 1,502 passing yards and 19 touchdowns against only three interceptions.

He's currently on pace to throw 61 touchdowns, which would easily break the single-season record set by Peyton Manning (55) in 2013. Manning, Mahomes (50 in 2018) Tom Brady (50 in 2007) are the only quarterbacks to throw at least 50 touchdown passes in a single season.

Even if Wilson doesn't break Manning's record, he's in good position to finish with 50-plus.

Wilson's latest heroics transpired against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. With his team trailing 26-21 after the two-minute warning, Wilson led Seattle on a 13-play, 94-yard drive - culminating in a game-winning touchdown pass to D.K. Metcalf on fourth and goal.

The Seattle defense forced a Kirk Cousins fumble on the final play to clinch the victory. With the win, the Seahawks moved to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history. They're one of the four remaining undefeated teams, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans - who are all 4-0.

The Seahawks are on a bye in Week 6. Their next game will take place on the road against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
