There was once a time when WWE hired women based on looks rather than their wrestling skills. This led to perhaps the worst generation for female wrestling, but it also meant that WWE brought in some of the most attractive women that the company had ever seen in the early 2000s.
WWE Divas were once described as "Sexy, Smart and Powerful" and that is exactly what many of the women who came into the WWE through the Diva Search from 2004 up until 2007 were. Of course, WWE has moved on since then, the famed Women's Revolution has changed the way women in WWE are viewed and the term "Divas" is no longer acceptable to be used when talking about the company's female superstars.
That being said, there are many fans who still remember a time when there were some of the most beautiful women in the world wrestling for WWE. The blonde women were perhaps the most famed as Trish Stratus set to tone for any female wrestler who stepped in the ring after her retirement back at Unforgiven in 2006.
The following list looks at some of the most beautiful blonde bombshells who have set foot in a WWE ring over the last few decades and seemingly managed to become quite memorable to many of the WWE Universe. Some current wrestlers even make the list as WWE has finally found the perfect balance between beauty and talent as The Women's Revolution in WWE continues to push forward.
15 Michelle McCool
The wife of the legendary Undertaker, Michelle McCool has her own fair share of accomplishments when it comes to her work inside a WWE ring. Michelle is a former Divas and Women's Champion in her own right as well as being a unified Champion alongside Layla at one point.
As a former 7th grade Science teacher, Michelle was able to incorporate her educational background into a sexy teacher gimmick that put her on the map when it came to the WWE Universe as well as her incredible arsenal of moves that the WWE Universe had never seen from a female wrestler before. Michelle's Wings of Love move was considered too dangerous for the WWE women at one point that WWE even banned Michelle from using it. Michelle quit WWE back in 2011 following her marriage to The Undertaker, but the WWE Universe have fond memories of the former Diva of the Year.
Sable was one of the original WWE Divas and a former WWE Women's' Champion. What she lacked in in-ring experience she made up for in beauty and personality. She is the only female wrestler to have been featured on the cover of Playboy magazine twice in the same year and then went on to pose for the magazine three times in total, with her issues being some of the best selling in the history of the magazine.
Sable carved a path out for herself when women were only seen as eye candy in the company; she proved that she was much more than that. Sable not only captured the hearts of many of the WWE Universe but she also turned the head of current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and the couple has been married now for more than a decade. There is no denying the fact that Sable was one of the most memorable and interesting things about WWE's Attitude Era.
13 Dana Brooke
Dana Brooke may not have many accomplishments in WWE right now having come through NXT without picking up a title, but as a former bodybuilder, Dana has the look that WWE likes their female wrestlers to have. She has a talent for the business as well, as a former gymnast like Charlotte Flair, Dana is able to pull off moves that the WWE Universe are not used to seeing from the women and is one of the strongest females in her division.
Dana is often overlooked next to some of the stunning women like Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss on Monday Night Raw, but that doesn't make her any less beautiful. Photo's that Dana shares on Instagram prove that when she isn't in her wrestling attire she is actually stunning. She's definitely someone that WWE Universe members should follow on Instagram if they really want to see the real Dana.
Maryse had a somewhat easy route to the WWE as she came through the Diva Search back in 2006, and even though she didn't win the competition, she was still signed to WWE and sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling to train.
Maryse is a former Divas Champion and was once the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history before AJ Lee broke her record in 2014. Maryse left WWE back in 2011 when she decided to pursue the idea of creating her own business. She claimed that she would only return to WWE if she was given a WrestleMania main event or $1 million. Maryse made her return following WrestleMania 32 to help her husband The Miz to win the Intercontinental Championship and has remained by his side ever since. There is a reason this duo are known as The It Couple, and there is a reason why Miz is so successful with this bombshell by his side.
Tiffany became well-known to the WWE Universe as the General Manager of ECW from 2008 until 2010 and even though she wasn't with the company for very long, she was still able to leave a lasting impression.
Tiffany later made the switch over to TNA and was known as Taryn Terrell and is a former Knockout's Champion. Like many women in the wrestling business, Tiffany posed for Playboy magazine and was featured in an issue called "Big Boobs, Hot Buns." Obviously not one to leave anything to the imagination of the WWE Universe, Tiffany became a well-liked member of the WWE locker room and then later the TNA locker room. It seems that she finally found the perfect blend of athleticism and sex appeal, which was exactly what she always set out to do. She is also the ex-wife of current NXT Champion Drew McIntyre and there have been various rumors that suggest she could be heading back to WWE in the future.
Sunny was believed to be the first ever WWE Diva and despite the fact that she was unable to win Women's Championship gold during her time in WWE because the Women's title was brought back to WWE until after Sunny retired, she was able to lead various tag teams to championship gold instead.
Sunny's girl next door innocent looks allowed her into the hearts of the WWE Universe for a number of years and made her one of the most successful female managers in WWE history. Sunny is a Hall of Famer for a reason and a former Playboy cover girl. Despite all of the personal problems that Sunny has had since she left WWE almost two decades ago, she should be remembered for the difference she made in WWE while she was part of the company and not for the stories that have been revealed about her ever since.
Natalya claims that she's "The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be" just like her uncle Bret Hart. Nattie is considered to be a veteran in WWE right now and as well as being the current SmackDown Women's Champion, she is also a former Divas Champion.
Natalya has never allowed her family name to open doors for her. She has worked hard for everything she has in WWE and even though she isn't like the women who have come and gone from WWE in the decade she has been there, she is still one of the most beautiful women that WWE currently employ. Natalya is a fantastic role model for hard work and what can be achieved if you keep pushing for what you want. She is currently married to former Tag Team Champion Tyson Kidd and much of the couple's relationship was featured as part of the first few seasons of Total Divas.
Lana is a former professional dancer and actress, and she auditioned for the 2013 Diva Search where the winner was given a role in Total Divas' first season. Lana didn't win the competition but she was still hired by WWE and sent to their Performance Centre where she met Rusev and the duo was put together on WWE TV.
Lana managed Rusev for a number of years and to a number of Championships until Rusev was put on the shelf with a shoulder injury and WWE decided it was time for Lana to become a superstar in her own right. Lana is referred to as The Ravishing Russian and with good reason. Not only is Lana absolutely stunning, but she is also extremely flexible from her dance background. It seems that there is a number of the WWE Universe who think that Rusev is a god for being able to marry someone like Lana.
7 Stacy Keibler
Stacy Keibler is not remembered as a former Women's Champion in WWE because she was unable to lift gold in any form, but the one thing that made her stand out were her long 42 inch legs.
Stacy slotted into many different WWE story lines after getting her start in wrestling in WCW as a Nitro girl, but her beauty led to her becoming one of the most popular women to ever set foot in a WWE ring. Stacy went on to make a name for herself on Dancing With The Stars after she left WWE and even briefly dated Hollywood star George Clooney. It is hard to look back at some of the most beautiful blonde women in WWE history without talking about Stacy, someone who didn't accomplish much when it comes to Championships, but is still fondly remembered by the WWE Universe who played their part in making her the woman she is today.
6 Summer Rae
Much like Stacy Keibler, if Summer Rae left WWE right now she would have no accomplishments to her name after making her way to the main roster through NXT, where she was seen as a promising addition to the main roster Women's Division.
Summer was then made part of Total Divas and was used sparingly on the main roster until she suffered from both neck and back injuries and was sidelined. Summer hasn't been seen on WWE TV for more than a year and many fans believe that she could be released from the company in the near future. Summer's beauty could be one of the reasons she was pushed to the main roster so quickly, but she was unable to keep up with the women who were pushing for a change in the Division and has been left behind now with no way to be brought back into the division.
5 Ashley Massaro
The winner of the 2005 Raw Diva Search is one of the most memorable female wrestlers in WWE if only for her performance at WrestleMania 23 after she was chosen to pose for the cover of Playboy magazine.
Ashley formed an alliance with Trish Stratus throughout her time in WWE but after coming into WWE with minimal experience in a WWE ring, she always worked much better as a valet for tag teams and worked well with Brian Kendrick and Paul London for a while when she was moved over to SmackDown. Ashley made the decision to leave WWE in 2008 when it was made clear that her daughter was ill and she wanted to be able to look after her and not be traveling around as much. WWE granted Ashley her release but the former CoverGirl has been hinting on social media for a while that she is open to a WWE return.
4 Kelly Kelly
Kelly Kelly was hired by WWE when the ECW brand was relaunched in 2006 and she then became an exhibitionist on the show and would perform strip teases as part of "Kelly's Expose" until she was joined by Layla El and Brooke and the trio would then perform dances and were called "Extreme Expose" instead.
When ECW went down the pan a few years later, as expected, Kelly was moved over to the main roster where her background in gymnastics allowed her to train to be a wrestler and she actually showed a lot of promise towards the end of her WWE career and was able to lift the Divas Championship on one occasion. Backstage stories of hook ups and relationships with a number of WWE stars have plagued Kelly's career in WWE and are the one thing that the WWE Universe remember about perhaps the most beautiful woman to ever set foot into a WWE ring.
3 Torrie Wilson
Torrie Wilson is without a doubt one of the most attractive women to have ever been contracted to WWE, but Torrie was never given the chances she deserved and was never trained well enough for her to be pushed towards a Championship reign.
Torrie came through WWE after being part of WCW and was mostly used as eye candy and part of storylines that turned down the path of a lesbian nature. Torrie was finally given her WrestleMania moment back at WrestleMania 22 when she was part of a Playboy pillow fight alongside Candice Michelle in the semi main event spot. Since Torrie left WWE she has managed to stay in shape and still looks just as incredible as she did when she was working as a professional wrestler. Torrie is part of her own fitness set up now and has thousands of loyal followers on both Instagram and Twitter.
2 Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss is widely considered to be the most attractive female wrestler contracted to WWE right now. She came through WWE after sending a video audition to NXT following careers as both a cheerleader and a bodybuilder. She was then signed to the company as part of a developmental contract that became a full-time contract a year later.
Alexa then went on to manage Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy to Tag Team Championship gold down in NXT before WWE made the gamble and promoted Alexa to the SmackDown brand as part of the WWE Draft in the Summer of 2016. Alexa has shown an incredible amount of improvement over the past year and is now a former two-time SmackDown Women's Champion and a former Raw Women's Champion. Despite being a heel star, Alexa has become very popular with the WWE Universe because she is one of the few women in WWE right now who is talented both in the ring and on the mic.
1 Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus will always be the measuring stick when it comes to the women in WWE. Trish is a former seven-time WWE Women's Champion, a WWE Hall of Famer and widely considered to be the greatest female wrestler of all time.
Trish is now a mother of two and has changed significantly since her time in WWE, that officially ended back at Unforgiven in her hometown of Toronto back in 2006. Trish and Lita's feud was history making in WWE at the time and considering Trish was signed to WWE with no prior wrestling experience, she was able to pick up the skill and go on to become one of the greatest of all time. Despite Charlotte and Sasha Banks sneaking up on her record number of reigns and are expected to over take Trish in the next few years, the Canadian will never be wiped from the history books, the things she did for Women's wrestling will be remembered through generations to come.
