Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is none too pleased about the NBA's decision to host an All-Star Game this year.

The league and the NBPA have agreed to host the event in Atlanta on March 7, much to LeBron's annoyance. The four-time NBA Champion, last season's Finals MVP, spoke to the media after his side's win over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, calling the decision a "slap in the face."

The veteran star lamented over the short break afforded to the Lakers, as well as the break they were promised that they won't be getting should the NBA's plans come to fruition.

"I have zero energy and zero excitement about an All-Star Game this year," he said, per CNN. "I don't even understand why we're having an All-Star Game.

"Short offseason for myself and my teammates. It was 71 days. And then coming into this season, we were told that we were not having an All-Star Game, so we'd have a nice little break.

"Five days (in March) from the fifth through the 10th, an opportunity for me to kind of recalibrate for the second half of the season—my teammates as well, some of the guys in the league. And then they throw an All-Star Game on us like this and just breaks that all the way up. So, um, pretty much kind of a slap in the face."

The NBA's All-Star Weekend was originally set to take place in Indianapolis but, back in November, the league and Indiana Pacers announced the city will be hosting the event in 2024 as "public health conditions" will make it difficult to give fans an optimal experience this year.

James isn't the player to have spoken out against the NBA's decision.

"If I'm going to be brutally honest, I think it's stupid," Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox also said on Thursday night. "If we have to wear a mask and do all of this for a regular game, then what's the point of bringing the All-Star Game back?"
