The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in Game 6 on Sunday to capture their 17th NBA Championship in franchise history, and their first in 10 years.

Unsurprisingly, LeBron James and company are the early favorites to capture next year's title as well.

Following the Lakers' victory over Miami on Sunday, Odds Shark released the early betting odds for the 2021 championship. The 2020 champions are the early favorites at +400, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers at +600.

The Golden State Warriors carry the third best odds at +700. They missed the playoffs due in large part to Klay Thompson's absence (he missed the year recovering from an ACL tear that he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals) and Stephen Curry's broken hand injury that limited him to five games.

But with Thompson, Curry and Draymond Green hopefully healthy and ready for 2020-21, the dynastic Warriors should be among the top title contenders.

The Milwaukee Bucks carry the fourth highest odds at +1000. The Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets (who'll have a healthy Kevin Durant next season) and 2020 Eastern Conference champion Heat have +1200 odds.

Entering the 2019-20 season, the Lakers and Clippers - along with the Milwaukee Bucks - were the heavy favorites to win it all. The Lakers traded for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, giving James a new elite sidekick to work with.

The Clippers signed reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard in free agency, and they managed to land veteran All-Star Paul George in a blockbuster trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Countless fans and pundits expected the Lakers and Clippers to square off in the Western Conference Final. But the Clippers were upset by the Denver Nuggets in the second round, and that led to the dismissal of head coach Doc Rivers.

James and the Lakers defeated the Nuggets in five games. The Heat proved to be the Lakers' greatest challenge in the playoffs, but there was no stopping James and Davis in this series.
