Connor McGregor has announced his retirement from MMA. During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, the 30-year-old fighter said he and his family are set for life and he has done a lot during his career. The UFC's most controversial star has a collection of scandals and victories in the ring.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, MacGregor has a fortune evaluated at $110 million and he also announced his whiskey brand, so his wealth might increase even more in the coming years. The UFC superstar doesn’t have a humble lifestyle and has no problems in sharing it with the public.
10 He paid his family's bills
When Conor McGregor officially became a multimillionaire, in 2015, he did a noble act and invited his parents and two sisters to a special dinner in Ireland, where they live. The main idea was to celebrate these new steps in his career, but he also had a great surprise planned for his family.
”I took every bill off their hands, every single bill,” McGregor told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour show. “My whole family has retired young now.”
During the dinner, he informed his family they would never have to work again and also gave each one of them a BMW 5-Series.
McGregor is passionate about cars and he doesn’t hold back to spend some millions on his collection. He has at least 15 vehicles in his garage. Lamborghini is indeed one of his favorite cars and he has a few of them: Lamborghini Aventador, a Lamborghini Aventador Road Roaster, Lamborghini Huracan AV10 are some of them.
He also has a McLaren 12 C capable of reaching 204 mph, a Corvette Stingray, a BMW 18, a McLaren P1, and the list goes on.
However, the most special item of his collection has nothing to do with money but comes with an emotional connection. He still has a Vauxhall Astra, the first car he bought when he started fighting.
McGregor has bought a $2 million house in Ireland, where he lives with Dee Devlin, his girlfriend. The mansion is located in one of the most exclusive places in the country, the K Club in County Kildare.
During many years, the fighter and Dee lived with his parents, but it seems that will never happen again. The couple has many properties, like a $1,7 million mansion in Marbella, Spain, that has a customized gym, designed pool and LED Driveway. He also has an impressive mansion home in Las Vegas, that he has put on the market.
Although McGregor doesn’t hold back on spending money on himself, he also likes to give back to society. In May 2019, he announced he was building eight houses for homeless people in Dublin, Ireland. The UFC star follows the construction closely to ensure everything is going well.
"We have eight homes here closing in on finish”, posted by McGregor via his social media. “Three bedroom houses, designated for families that currently reside in hotels around the capital, without a home to call their own. But not for long. Through the storm comes the sun!”
“When I have won a big fight and collect a big check, I’ll purchase a beautiful watch and I’ll put it on my left hand," remarked McGregor during an interview with Haute Time Magazine.
That means he has a huge collection. According to The Sun, his watches are evaluated at around $700k. We can often see McGregor on his social media and press conferences using luxury brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet.
The most expensive watch he wore in public was a Patek Philippe Rose Gold Nautilus 5980/1R-001. The piece has a rose gold Nautilus and uses the self-winding mechanism as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, that costs approximately $ 100 thousand.
McGregor really takes care of details when it comes to his looks. And shoes are a big part of it. He has shared a video showing his vast collection of shoes, most of them designed by Gucci and he has invested a small fortune on them. According to The Sun, just the Gucci shoes are evaluated in more than $6 thousand.
He also posted a picture of a $750 pair of Jimmy Choos "John" slippers a few years ago. McGregor also has a countless number of sneakers, some of them customized.
4 A controversial fur coat
In 2017, he probably wore one of his most controversial outfits: A custom-made Gucci mink coat embroidered with a snake on the back. The piece cost approximately $30 grand. Of course, he received many critics for using real fur, but he didn’t pay attention to them.
He wore the coat for a press conference alongside various Gucci pieces. The total price of the outfit was approximately $150 thousand. He was inspired by Smokin' Joe Frazier, who wore something almost identical (but probably cheaper) before his fight against Muhammad Ali.
3 Training camps
In 2016, McGregor faced the first loss in his career and, unsurprisingly, the MMA fighter did not take it very well. He asked for a rematch with his opponent, Nick Diaz, in Las Vegas.
"With gyms, cars, transport, flights, accommodations - I'd estimate we're talking a $300,000 camp here...This is a big, big expense - but what I make is big. So, in the bigger picture, it's rather small”, he told during an interview to ESPN.
It sounds like a crazy amount, but at least McGregor won the rematch in the same year. So, it was worth it.
When Mcgregor went partying at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, he received a warm welcome from people who were in the club. However, the best part for his fans was yet to come. According to Craziest Sports Fights, the drinks that night were on the fighter, so he spent approximately $100 thousand.
It sounds like a great amount for most of us but, that night, McGregor had received $30 million for a fight. Perhaps, it was his way of celebrating with his fans.
Conor McGregor takes his looks just as serious as his fights. He is especially demanding with his suits. According to TMZ, his personal suit maker is David August, who can charge him anywhere from $4 to $10 thousand per suit. Furthermore, McGregor never buys just a couple of them.
"He likes to wear his suits high and tight and really tailored, and his size changes all the time depending on his fights," said the company CEO to TMZ. "So we're always measuring him to make sure it fits exactly how he wants it."
