The Buffalo Bills are set to take part in their first home playoff game in 24 years. And for the first time in 2020, they'll be allowed to hold a limited numbers of fans at Bills Stadium.
On Wednesday, the Bills announced that they have received permission from New York State to welcome up to 6,700 fans for their home Wild Card Playoff game (either Jan. 9 or 10, opponent to be determined).
In the statement, the Bills announced that negative COVID-19 tests will be mandatory for fans who wish to attend the game. Masks will also be required.
The Bills sit at 12-3. They will either finish as the No. 2 or 3 seed in the AFC.
A win against the Miami Dolphins - or a Pittsburgh Steelers' loss to the Cleveland Browns - on Sunday will clinch Buffalo the second seed. A Bills loss and a Steelers victory would bump Buffalo down to the No. 3 seed, and Pittsburgh up to the second.
Buffalo has the head-to-head tiebreaker over Pittsburgh thanks to their Week 14 win.
The Kansas City Chiefs clinched the top seed in the AFC with a Week 16 win over the Atlanta Falcons. They'll rest starter Patrick Mahomes for their Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans enter Week 17 with identical 10-5 records. Three of them will earn a wild card spot, and the Titans or Colts will win the AFC South.

As such, the Bills and Steelers don't know who they'll play in the Wild Card Round just yet.
The Bills' last home playoff game was against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1996 AFC Wild Card Round. The Jaguars upset Buffalo by a final score of 30-27, and the Bills wouldn't play another home playoff game for the next 23 years.
It's been a long time coming for Bills fans, who will finally get to enjoy playoff football in Buffalo come the Jan. 9-10 weekend.
