Professional wrestling is and has always been a man’s world. That is what we have been led to believe over the many decades the sport has been a popular form of entertainment around the globe, and it is an understandable sentiment considering the representatives of the business over the years. Men have almost exclusively served as the biggest stars of each wrestling territory and organization with a handful of exceptions, but in 2017 the idea that men own and run the industry has started to crumble as the women of the ring have been quickly catching up with their male counterparts in popularity.
A well-publicized revolution has been happening with women’s wrestling, for sure, and suddenly we are not all talking about only the men of WWE but also the “Divas,” as they were once referred to. The rise in popularity of wrestling’s feminine presence isn’t limited to those in the ring, however. In general, the daughters of some of wrestling’s all-time biggest stars have become a hot topic as they come of age, whether they’re involved in the business or not. Let’s take a look at some of WWE’s hottest Superstar daughters.
15. Jessie Belle Smothers (Daughter Of Tracy Smothers)
Jessie Belle Smothers is an up and coming star on the independent circuit who, with just a few years of experience under her belt, has already snagged reigns with numerous championships. Perhaps her most prominent role to date has been as a competitor for the highly popular all women’s wrestling promotion SHINE Wrestling and she has competed in the ring against current NXT star Ruby Riot and current WWE Superstar and future Hall of Famer Mickie James.
If her last name sounds familiar, that is because she is the daughter of wrestling legend Tracy Smothers, who is known for competing for just about every major wrestling promotion in the world including WWE, WCW, and ECW where he was popular as a member of the stable known as the Full Blooded Italians.
14. Tamina Snuka (Daughter Of Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka)
The late WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was a hero in the 1980s, in no small thanks to his legendary role in the very first WrestleMania main event alongside Hulk Hogan, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, “Cowboy” Bob Orton and Mr. T. However, later in his life he would be at the heart of a huge controversy regarding the death of his former girlfriend. Snuka was on trial and accused of murder, though his declining health in his later years saw that he was considered unfit to stand trial.
Whatever the case may be, his wrestling career stands on its own as a huge influence to many, including fellow Hall of Famer Mick Foley. Today, Snuka’s gorgeous daughter Tamina is a powerhouse in WWE’s women’s division and one of the company’s longest-tenured employees.
13. Shaul Guerrero (Daughter Of Eddie Guerrero)
As if her name didn’t give it away, Shaul Guerrero is the daughter of the legendary WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, who passed away in 2005 and was known as one of the most naturally gifted and respected men to ever lace up a pair of boots and compete inside a wrestling ring. Eddie was a true icon and his passing broke many hearts all over the world, though his wife Vickie would carry on his legacy in her own way as one of the most hated TV personalities of all time. Vickie’s shrill voice would lead her to many years as one of WWE’s top heel authority figures.
12. Natalya (Daughter Of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart)
You will certainly recognize Natalya as one of the longest-running female Superstars in WWE history. She has become something of an icon in the business as one of the best workers to have ever competed in the company’s women’s division. Rarely has there ever been another woman in WWE that has been able to match Natalya in the realm of technical wrestling and she has worked to help the former “Divas” division evolve into the respectable entity that it has become in 2017.
And just in case you didn’t already know, Natalya has wrestling in her blood. She is the daughter of WWE legend Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, the niece of Bret and Owen Hart, and the only female to ever come out of the infamously cruel Hart Dungeon.
11. Brooke Hogan (Daughter Of Hulk Hogan)
It might not need to be said, but Hulk Hogan is the biggest wrestling star of all time. He was the face of the World Wrestling Federation when the company went global in the 1980s with WrestleMania and carried the entire wrestling business on his back into the 1990s with a level of popular never before seen as it pertained to the sport. His career continued for many years between WWE and WCW, but even his status as “Immortal” couldn’t save this icon from the racism scandal he was at the heart of a couple of years back which saw him erased from WWE’s website and removed from their Hall of Fame.
Years ago, Hogan got his own reality show called Hogan Knows Best which saw cameras follow him and his family around. If you watched this show then you certainly remember his daughter Brooke, who later became even more famous for a failed attempt at a music career and her role with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
10. Brittany Page (Daughter Of Diamond Dallas Page)
Brittany Page is the daughter of one of World Championship Wrestling’s biggest icons, a man you will probably know by the name of Diamond Dallas Page. DDP, as he was often called, was one of WCW’s few homegrown stars, and as a WCW original was one of the most respected men to compete in that company. After Vince McMahon bought the company out, DDP joined WWE and continued his legacy. Today he is widely recognized for his yoga business and for helping fellow former wrestlers like Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Scott Hall get their lives back together.
His daughter Brittany is looking to follow in her father’s footsteps to some degree by getting her own women’s wrestling promotion started alongside Brooke Hogan and some other famous wrestling daughters.
9. Noelle Foley (Daughter Of Mick Foley)
If you are seeing the name Noelle Foley and are scratching your head wondering if this could possibly be the daughter of the WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, you could not be blamed. How could a woman so beautiful have been spawned by a man known for his overweight, grungy appearance and his willingness to do the most unspeakable things to his own body for the entertainment of a wrestling crowd?
Indeed, Noelle is the daughter of the man behind Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love, and she is known for her plethora of revealing photos, which she shares herself on social media. She and Mick were the focus of a 2016 reality show on the WWE Network which explored Noelle’s desire to follow in her father’s footsteps as a wrestler.
8. Stephanie McMahon (Daughter Of Vince McMahon)
To say that women are finally getting their moment in wrestling would be an accurate statement as the women’s division in WWE has been flourishing since the retiring of the old Divas Championship and the “Divas” term as a whole. Though there are plenty of inspirational and empowering women competing in the WWE ring now, there is no more powerful woman in the entire pro wrestling industry than Stephanie McMahon herself. Here is a woman who will one day be practically running the company as she is all set to take her father’s place.
Vince McMahon has done a remarkable job, despite criticisms, of taking wrestling to a global level, but all signs point to Stephanie, along with her husband Triple H, being able to take the industry to new heights.
7. Charlotte Flair (Daughter Of Ric Flair)
If you don’t know who Charlotte Flair is by now then you haven’t been paying attention. Though many women can be credited as working toward the modern movement which has seen women be taken more seriously in the ring than ever before, Charlotte Flair can be seen as the woman at the forefront of all of it as the face of WWE’s new age women’s division. She is without a doubt the biggest female star the company has seen in years and it comes as no surprise when you think about the blood pumping through her veins.
Indeed, Charlotte is wrestling royalty, if such a thing exists, as the daughter of the legendary two-time WWE Hall of Famer the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Her career is young, too, so we can expect her to continue to shatter glass ceilings.
6. Tessa Blanchard (Daughter Of Tully Blanchard)
Tessa Blanchard has been wrestling for several years now on the independent circuit with promotions such as SHINE Wrestling, though she has competed several times on television with NXT, which would seem to indicate that Triple H and WWE have some interest in bringing her on as a full-time talent. The skilled grappler would certainly be a welcome addition to WWE’s modern women’s division, as Tessa seems to be naturally gifted in the ring, and that makes sense considering her family history.
She is the daughter of Tully Blanchard, one of the most legendary wrestlers of all time who is famous for being one of the original members of the legendary Four Horsemen alongside Ole Anderson, Arn Anderson, and Ric Flair. Tessa’s grandfather was also a pro wrestler named Joe Blanchard.
5. Paige (Daughter Of Saraya Knight)
Paige might have been in the news over the past several months for all the wrong reasons, including very public fights with her real-life boyfriend and former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio as well as the infamous leaks of some of her private photos and videos earlier this year, but that takes absolutely nothing away from the vast quantities of talent this woman can lay claim to. Paige debuted with WWE at a time when the Divas division was at an all-time low and showed the world how good women’s wrestling can be.
Her natural talent can be attributed to growing up in the business around a family full of professional wrestlers. Her mother is particularly well known as Saraya Knight, an icon of sorts on the independent circuit.
4. Lacey Von Erich (Daughter Of Kerry Von Erich)
The Von Erich family is one of the most iconic wrestling families in the history of the industry. The Von Erichs, who became insanely popular in the early to mid-1980s for their feud with the hated villains and fellow wrestling legends the Fabulous Freebirds, helped inspire a generation of wrestlers, though sadly became known for the tragedy they would face with several deaths, most of them suicides. Kerry Von Erich was one of those who committed suicide, and his daughter Lacey has carried on his legacy.
Lacey Von Erich is retired from the ring now, but for a time wrestled for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling where she was a Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She is involved in the aforementioned women’s wrestling league being put together by Brooke Hogan and Brittany Page.
3. Mikala Smith (Daughter Of Sam Houston)
Many of the gorgeous women on this list are fortunate in that they are the daughter of one wrestling legend or another, but in the case of Mikala Smith, she can say that both of her parents are veterans of the ring. Her mother is “The Perfect 10” Baby Doll, a former professional wrestler, and manager who became quite popular in her days with World Class Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions in the 1980s.
Mikala’s father was Sam Houston, who on the other hand was a bit more widely known to fans of the World Wrestling Federation. Houston, who competed for several big promotions, is the son of wrestling legend Grizzly Smith, the half-brother of WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts and the brother of former WWE Women’s Champion Rockin’ Robin.
2. Bronwyne Billington (Daughter Of Dynamite Kid)
Bronwyne Billington is a young up and coming star in the independent wrestling scene known professionally as the Dynamite Doll who serves as the valet for her real-life husband, Dynamite Dan Myers. Together, the “Dynamite Duo” has been making a name for themselves but they have quite a way to go if they ever want to match the fame of Bronwyne’s legendary father, Dynamite Kid.
Dynamite Kid was one-half of the British Bulldogs alongside his cousin and fellow legend Davey Boy Smith. In the 1980s they burst onto the tag team scene in the World Wrestling Federation and excited fans with a faster-paced style of tag team wrestling rarely seen before. They were more athletic than most WWE Superstars of their era and will go down as one of the all-time great tag teams.
1. Kayla Armstrong (Daughter Of Scott Armstrong)
Kayla Armstrong is the daughter of a long time WWE referee and former professional wrestler, Scott Armstrong. Scott himself is the brother of one of the most legendary tag team wrestlers of all time, the “Road Dogg” Jesse James as well as the son of WWE Hall of Famer “Bullet” Bob Armstrong. With a lineage like this, it is easy to see that there would be some pretty high expectations of Kayla should she decide to break into professional wrestling herself, and that might be exactly what she hopes to do.
A few years ago, Kayla apparently had a tryout with WWE, though it obviously didn’t get very far if we haven’t seen her in NXT before now. However, with the state of women’s wrestling in WWE today there is more room than ever for the daughter of a wrestling veteran to make her mark.
