15 Talents That Are Wasted On WWE’s Main Roster

WWE has an array of talent on all three of their current brands, but the issue is that they can't include everyone in every show. There will always be people who aren't being used correctly, or in some cases, aren't being used at all.

The company makes many wrestlers into stars down in NXT before they decide to call them up to the main roster and for the most part, they ruin them as characters and then they are stuck, they can't go back down to NXT and they can't get the push they deserve on the main roster.

This is an ongoing trend throughout WWE and it's only going to get worse since WWE keeps on signing more and more talent and they haven't had a budget release for almost three years. This means that there is a lot of talent backstage now that haven't been used by the company in a long time but have not been released.

Looking at the roster now, here are 15 superstars who are being wasted on the main brands and should either be given a chance to perform, or be allowed to leave.

15 Bo Dallas

It's hard to remember a time when Bo Dallas was used correctly, but he is a former NXT Champion. Bo was one of the hottest prospects that WWE had down in developmental a few years ago, and it seems that him being promoted to the main roster was one of the worst decisions the company ever made.

Bo had a brief run as "The Inspirational Bo Dallas" but it seems that this ended as quickly as it began and left him in a position where he could only be used as an enhancement talent. Dallas was last seen a few weeks ago on Raw when he was force fed Booty O's by The New Day. Could he fall any lower on WWE TV?

14 Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews was a member of the NXT Locker Room that was a shock when he was called up following WrestleMania last year. Crews doesn't have much that allows him to stand out on the roster and he didn't stand out much on NXT either.

The sad thing about his entire promotion is the fact that he has been lost amongst everyone else because there is nothing that puts him ahead of anyone else. Crews doesn't have much personality on the mic either and has been put into a throwaway feud with Dolph Ziggler in recent weeks, which hasn't done much for either star.

13 Darren Young

Darren Young has been tiptoeing around the main roster for the past few months, ever since his split with Titus O'Neil. The storyline with Bob Backland failed as well, as they attempted to "Make Darren Young Great Again." I suppose you have to be great to begin with for that kind of thing to work.

Darren has also been reduced to being an enhancement talent once again, with no prospects moving forward in the company. Is it finally time for Young to walk away? Young hasn't had a lengthy storyline in a long time and WWE keeps trying to put him back in a feud with Titus O'Neil, something no one wants to see again.

12 James Ellsworth

James Ellsworth came into WWE as a joke. He was a jobber who was being used to make Braun Strowman look good, but because the WWE Universe decided the fact that he doesn't have a chin is hilarious, WWE decided to bring him back and offer him a contract.

Since then he has been able to pin former WWE Champion AJ Styles on three occasions and now after all that, he has been reduced to being Carmella's new boyfriend whom she is attempting to dress like Enzo Amore. Ellsworth has managed to become an even bigger joke than he first was if that's possible.

11 Carmella

Carmella was promoted to the main roster as part of the WWE draft and sent to the SmackDown roster. Since then she has been part of a great feud between her and Nikki Bella that really established her on the roster.

The feud ended a few months ago and now Carmella is being wasted in backstage segments with Ellsworth and this past week she was used to make Nikki Bella and John Cena look strong in the build up to their match at WrestleMania. Carmella needs a storyline that will allow her to get back into the ring, without Ellsworth.

10 Summer Rae

The former NXT Star was brought up to the main roster to partner Fandango when he was first being pushed by the company. The problem is, his push didn't last and Summer soon left him when he decided to replace her with Layla.

Summer has had many memorable moments on the main roster over the past few years and had a role on Total Divas at one point, something that ended as quickly as it began. She was drafted over to Raw during the draft but hasn't appeared yet due to a reported injury, but Mick Foley was seen on social media trash talking Summer, so it is unknown if she will ever return.

9 Fandango

Fandango was once the hottest thing in WWE, the company promoted his debut for months, and when he finally debuted the whole world was "fandangoing." He went on to defeat Chris Jericho in his first ever WrestleMania match, but sadly it's been all downhill since then.

WWE ran out of things to do with the dancer and instead decided to take him off WWE TV for a while and then place him with fellow misfit Tyler Breeze as the main enhancement tag team on SmackDown, which is sad considering the amount potential that he has.

8 The Ascension

The longest reigning Tag Team Champions in NXT history were brought to the main roster to continue the path of destruction that they had already paved at Full Sail, but that sadly didn't work out well for them.

The Ascension were instead jobbed out to many WWE legends on an episode of Raw and have failed to find any kind of form since. As a team, there is not much wrong with Konnor and Victor, but the problem is the fact that WWE has no idea what to do with them. They deserve much better.

7 Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze was in NXT longer than any other superstar has ever been. WWE didn't want to bring him up to the main roster and waste him, so instead they waited for the perfect opportunity. His call-up was even made part of Breaking Ground's first season.

When he was called up, WWE put him in a feud with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae, something that pitted two very similar stars against one another, but they had no plans for after this feud, so now Breeze is stuck teaming with Fandango as part of The Fashion police, a team that no one in WWE takes seriously. It's a shame because they are both fantastic wrestlers and as a team they could achieve some great things.

6 The Vaudevillians

Much like The Ascension, The Vaudevillians were brought up to the main roster following WrestleMania weekend and were used as heels on the Raw brand for a while. Their heel run was an impressive one, but since they have been drafted over to SmackDown, it seems the company has no idea what to do with them.

SmackDown has strength and depth in their tag team division, and what do they decide to do? They allow thrown together teams to win the titles. Heath Slater and Rhyno and Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. SmackDown's tag teams deserve better and The Vaudevillians have a fantastic gimmick if it's used correctly.

5 Heath Slater

Heath Slater is a long standing member of both 3MB and The Nexus. Heath has been put through his paces by WWE now for years and it was thought that it had all come to an end when he won the Tag Team Championships with Rhyno.

Sadly, it wasn't meant to be, and the only man who wasn't drafted in the 2016 WWE Draft has once again turned back into the enhancement talent that WWE have always needed him to be. Heath has proved over the years that he is a talented wrestler and he deserves many of the shots that WWE is giving to everyone else. WWE released both other members of 3MB a few years ago before welcoming Jinder Mahal back. Could it be time for Heath to walk away?

4 Emma

Emma is another one who has been put through the ringer by WWE, the company spent more than four months promoting her to return to WWE following back surgery as Emmalina, who was set to be a throwback to the likes of Sable and Sunny.

The problem was, Emma was finding it hard to play the part, so after 45 seconds of Emmalina, the WWE Universe were told that Emma would now transfer back into her former self. It wasted four months of her career and it is something that fans will definitely hold over her head for the next few months, which is unfair. WWE shouldn't have promoted the debut until she as ready. It will be interesting to see how she manages to move on from this.

3 Titus O'Neil

The Real Deal Titus O'Neil has been a little bit less than a real deal for a while now. Much like Darren Young, he has been slipping slowly down the ranks since The Prime Time Players split and hasn't been able to find his form ever over the past few months.

Titus was part of a feud with The New Day a few weeks ago, but it seemed that WWE was just using him as a filler rivalry for the former Tag Team Champions because there was nothing else for them. Titus was suspended last year when he stupidly decided to put his hands on Vince McMahon, and it could be that WWE is still punishing him for his actions.

2 Curtis Axel

How long does a person have to be missing for before they're officially a missing person? Well, Axel hasn't been seen on WWE TV since October 24th, he turned face in his hometown, and then WWE decided to not report him as missing.

Axel hasn't fared very well in his WWE career, he was placed with Paul Heyman for a while and that ended badly. He was then partnered with Ryback before he joined forced with Damien Sandow. It seems that every partnership Axel has had has ended on less than good terms. He was even part of the Social Outcasts, that didn't exactly last very long. He's the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr Perfect, he deserves much more than WWE are giving to him.

1 Curt Hawkins

Curt Hawkins has probably one of the best WWE stories out of this entire list. Hawkins was already a jobber in WWE when they released him back in 2014, it came as no surprise to the WWE Universe.

Stupidly, following the WWE draft last summer, Hawkins was approached by WWE and he decided to resign, not realizing that WWE could easily put him back into the position he was in before. Which they have, two weeks in a row Dean Ambrose has come down to the ring and hit Hawkins with Dirty Deeds before any match can begin. It seems that Hawkins has once again fallen all the way down the totem pole, but at least he's getting TV time, which is more than can be said for many of the names on this list.
