Female wrestlers are smart, tough, and incredibly beautiful, and over the years, these women have been getting more recognition for what they do (in part, also thanks to the reality TV show, Total Divas). Despite training hard to ensure that they are physically fit and juggling a demanding career, many of these female stars have also managed to find time for love.

It's not just their professional lives that are thriving, but also their personal ones, and many WWE stars are in happy and committed relationships. And, interestingly, they seem to gravitate towards others who share their profession. There have been some female wrestlers who have gone on to marry other big stars and become the IT couple of the WWE, while others have dated and almost walked down the aisle before they surprised fans and went their separate ways (we’re talking to you, Nikki Bella and John Cena). However, not all female wrestlers are romantically interested in people they share a work environment with, and there are some women who have zero interest in dating another wrestler and have instead settled down with their childhood sweetheart, or a man with a completely different profession.

Below are 10 women who have bagged themselves another wrestler, and 10 more who really have no interest in mixing business with pleasure.

Alexa Bliss Credits Husband Buddy Murphy For Her Success

Alexis Bliss (real name is Alexis Kaufman) is well-known for her skills in the ring, but her relationship with the Australian, Buddy Murphy, has also been well-documented, thanks to her appearance on the reality TV show, Total Divas. In January of 2018, Bliss discussed their engagement and the pressure to get married because of Murphy's work-related issues, and whether or not he was able to keep his visa. On the show, she said, "I don't want to feel like he's gone forever or we get married.”

The couple first started dating after working together in NXT, where she had a storyline with tag team Blake and Murphy (consisting of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake). Bliss' role was to come in and help them win.

Bliss credits her fiance for much of her success, telling Sportster: "I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for her [mother], and if it weren’t for my fiancé, Buddy Murphy. He’s the one who came up with my title pose, he’s the one who came up with my ‘insult-to-injury” move, he’s the one who kind of started the cosplay (look), so a lot of at-home factors of what Alexa Bliss is." It seems that this couple both work hard and support each other, and although there have been many WWE stars who have broken up recently, it doesn’t look as though these two will find themselves in that category.

Nikki Bella And John Cena Were WWE's IT Couple

For a long time, Nikki Bella and John Cena were one of the most loved and respected WWE couples, and they were not afraid to let their affections for each other be known, even getting engaged live on TV in April of 2017, during their match. But they shocked fans when they announced that they would be going their separate ways in April of 2018, just weeks before they were set to have their destination wedding. Sources told People magazine that it was Bella’s decision and that she chose to call off the engagement because she and Cena have different views on marriage and children.

But it looks as though their split may not be forever. According to People, a source has told them: “John has constantly been in touch with Nikki. They will almost definitely get back together.” The source continued, “They’re definitely on a path to reconciliation. John is the love of her life, and she’s definitely the love of his life, and that doesn’t just vanish overnight. At the end of the day, they still want to be together.”

There have also been discussions of how Bella has been spending time with Cena since their split, with a source telling Us Weekly, “Nikki hasn’t moved out of John’s apartment.” That said, she did reveal in a YouTube video that she had been staying with her sister, Brie Bella, and her husband, Daniel Bryan, since the split.

Brie Bella And Daniel Bryan's Relationship Just Keeps Getting Stronger

Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan first met when they were put together for a wrestling storyline, and they became much more than just professional partners. Speaking of how their relationship first began, Bryan told PWMania (via Romper) in 2013, "It actually started as a storyline and then we really hit it off. Actually, it was shortly before our storyline ended we kind of started dating each other. We kind of started off real slow, but now we’ve been together for two and half years."

They are still together, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength. The couple was married in April 2014, in a televised wedding for Total Divas, and in May 2017, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Birdie.

When they became parents, Bryan told E! News that this changed their relationship for the better. He said: "I would read a lot about how to be a dad. I had never changed a diaper before we had Birdie. And one of the things that they talk about is it can be very hard on a marriage, on a couple, when you had a child. Because there's all these needs you have to take care of. But if you know that and you know that going in and, ‘OK, I'm going to put my partner first.' That sort of thing. And it feels like our relationship has become stronger because of it."

Maryse and The Miz Make A Good Team

Maryse and The Miz are perhaps one of the best-known WWE couples, and for good reason. The pair first met in 2006 at the Diva Search in Marina del Rey, and according to Providr, when The Miz decided to propose in 2013, he did it at the same conference room where they had first met (thus, making it extra special). The following year they were married, surrounded by WWE members at their destination wedding in the Bahamas.

Maryse was released from her WWE contract in August of 2011, but returned in 2016 and was cast as one of the members of Total Divas— a series that chronicles the life of female professional wrestlers but also gives viewers a glimpse into their personal lives. Speaking to E! News about what fans could expect to see from her life, Maryse revealed, "People will get to see my life with my husband, my life at home, my life with my animals, my family, how it is on the road, and how it is backstage. When it comes to this show, it's the real thing, it's real life, things that you don't see online, so it's going to be fun to see." But she also commented on how wonderful her husband is, and although other couples may find it hard to work with their spouse, these two don’t have that problem because Maryse claimed she “loves” filming with her man.

She added, "Some couples find it hard to be together all the time but I think we're a good team and we get along really well. We work together, we do everything together. He always finds a way to make me laugh, he's the perfect man for me."

Naomi And Jimmy Uso Had A Magical Wedding And Are Still Going Strong

Trinity McCray and Jonathan Fatu, better known by their WWE wrestling names, Naomi and Jimmy Uso, are one of the cutest couples in the industry and first got together after meeting in 2009. Naomi told Jet magazine back in 2013 that they had both gotten into WWE around the same time, and have been together ever since. She also told the publication, “He’s my best friend, my supporter and we’re inseparable, seriously.”

According to Heavy, they had a long engagement, before finally getting married in Maui, Hawaii, in 2014. A source told E! News, "It was beyond magical. Very emotional; at one point every single person was crying, including the bride and groom." The moment was one of the most important in the couple’s life, and Uso took to Instagram to gush about how it was "one of the happiest days in my life. Still trying to believe it!!”

Like many other wrestling couples, these two have also worked together, and Naomi previously admitted to E! News that it’s not always easy. She said, "We have disagreements and have to work together, but at the same time, it's good because we know we have to fix it and work it out." But one thing they never do is go to sleep if they are still mad at each other, that said, it’s a totally different situation if it means going into the ring mad.

Brandi Left WWE Shortly After Her Man, Cody Rhodes, Decided To Give It Up

Cody Rhodes comes from a professional wrestling family, with both his dad, Dusty Rhodes, and his brother, Dustin Rhodes (also known as Goldust), making it big in the sport. Cody also had a good run before announcing his departure in 2016, and it was not long before his wife announced that she would be moving on, too.

Speaking of Rhodes’ wife, she first made it onto the WWE scene in 2011; she had initially been trained to wrestle but ended up becoming an announcer because of her background in broadcasting— although, there are rumors that what she really wanted to do was get into the ring. According to The Sportster, she appeared mostly on NXT and Superstars before leaving a few months later. When she left, she announced her relationship with Cody. According to WrestlingInc, she revealed that Cody had pursued her but she was initially very reluctant to get into a relationship with him knowing that they worked together.

She said, “It probably took around a month for me to go out with him, and after that, the rest is as they say history because I feel that we ended up spending every day together after that; every day that we could. It just naturally happened, and it was one of those things where we were on the road all the time. People say it all the time, you are with these people more than you are with your family so a lot of times they do become your family."

During her time away from WWE, they got engaged. They married not long after in 2013, which was the same year that Brandi returned to WWE.

Maria Kanellis And Mike Bennett First Started Chatting Via Twitter

Maria Kanellis is yet another wrestler to have bagged herself a man in the same profession, and her man is none other than Mike Bennett (although, they have both since left impact wrestling).

Kanellis recalled their first meeting in an interview with WrestlingInc, and it seems that she was a big fan of Mike’s outfit. She said, "It was actually at an independent wrestling show, Northeast Wrestling. I saw him across the room and he was wearing a Ring of Honor hat. I loved ROH at the time. So I went over to him, and this was my pick up line, 'Hey so you work at Ring of Honor?' I wasn't actually trying to pick him up but I thought he was really cute." They were both in relationships at the time though, so nothing romantic happened, however, months later when their situations changed, they started to tweet. Eventually, their friendship progressed to more, although, Mike admitted to the publication that for him, it was love at first sight.

Of course, they are in love now, and they’re also married. The wedding took place in Chicago, Illinois, in October 2014. Fast-forward a few years and the pair are now proud parents to a daughter named Fredricka Moon Bennett. And becoming parents is a role they are really proud of, as Kanellis revealed via Instagram when she shared a photo of herself, Bennett, and their daughter. She captioned the post, “I still don’t have a clue what I am doing and they keep saying it will get easier but I wouldn’t change it for the world…”

Natalya And Tyson Kidd Have Actually Know Each Other Since They Were Kids

Natalya Neidhart (better known by just her first name) and Tyson Kidd (real name Theodore James Wilson) may have both risen to fame thanks to WWE, but unlike most wrestling couples, they actually knew each other before they joined the wrestling world. These two are the true definition of childhood sweethearts, and they’ve known each other since they were children.

Natalya previously told Sports Illustrated (via Life&Style), “I’ve known TJ since I was ten years old. He grew up with my family and has been a huge part of my life. He’s actually one of my first wrestling teachers and taught me a lot in the Dungeon. TJ keeps me grounded. I learn so much from TJ every day. He is an exceptional person.”

They have supported each other and have been through a lot together, but they also didn’t rush down the aisle. After 12 years of dating, the couple married in a beautiful wedding on a private island in 2013, which was planned by the producers of Total Divas and organized within five weeks. But despite being together for decades, it was not love-at-first-sight, at least, not for Natalya, and according to WrestlingInc, she said:"For me, it wasn't love-at-first-sight. It wasn't until I started learning how to wrestle that there was this connection with T.J. that changed everything. He always would catch me, he'd always put himself on the line to make sure that I was safe, and when you're in the ring and you're learning how to wrestle, it's all about trust with your partner."

Paige Proposed To El Patron On A Romantic Trip

Saraya-Jade Bevis is a retired professional wrestler (she retired after injuring her neck in a six women tag team match) who went by the name of Paige, and for a time she was linked to Alberto Del Rio, better-known by his stage name, El Patron.

The first appeared together in May 2016, when they were spotted at Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park in Florida. But their relationship was serious for a time and Paige even proposed to El Patron while they were on a trip in Puerto Rico— he later explained that it came as a surprise to him.

El Patron revealed on the podcast, Keeping It 100 with Konnan (via WrestlingInc), that he and Paige had called time on their relationship because their schedules did not allow them to see each other as often as they would have liked. He said, “My projects with Telemundo and TV Azteca, calendar, clothing line, charity events, and all that stuff, we just weren't seeing each other.” He also admitted that because of her training, she was not allowed to go to San Antonio and because he has three little kids, he would choose to come home to them, instead of traveling to Orlando. He confessed, “I had to choose between going to Orlando for that time or staying with my kids and of course I chose to stay with my kids, so we decided to end our relationship.”

Carmella And Big Cass' Issues Got In The Way Of Their Love

Wrestlers, Carmella and Big Cass, never quite made it down the aisle (and Carmella reportedly even claimed that Cass didn’t have plans to marry her), but they were in a relationship ever since they started working together on NXT. And their relationship was pretty serious, with some fans even referring to them by a moniker, Cassmella. Not only did they live together, they also purchased a property, although, this was the beginning of the end.

Much to fans dismay, in January 2018, the couple announced their decision to break up, and Carmella revealed what had gone wrong on an episode of Total Divas. During an episode, she spoke to fellow WWE star, Natalya, about their issues and revealed that after buying a house together, the couple experienced a string of issues and their new home became the subject of a lot of disagreements.

It wasn't just their home, and according to reports, the negativity that Cass had because of his knee injury also impacted their relationship. That said, Carmella has nothing but good things to say about her ex and revealed on Instagram that he would make one heck of a comeback, but also that he would always have a “special place” in her heart.

Eva Marie Married A Man Who Is Not Part Of The Wrestling World

Total Divas star, Eva Marie, is married to Jonathan Coyle, who is a seriously smart guy and has an MBA from Hope International University. The couple knew that they were right for each other from the beginning, and according to Bustle, they got engaged after just a few months and were married in 2014.

But their relationship hasn’t always been blissful, as a storyline on the Total Divas series revealed their conflict about having children. It seemed that Marie was not sure she wanted them, despite fertility tests coming back and proving that she could fall pregnant, whereas Coyle had dreams of having a big family.

Eva Marie has since left WWE but admits she still intends for her name to be in lights for a long time, just in a different capacity. She told PWMania that she has big plans for the future, admitting, “I want it all. I really want to expand with movies and I would love to land on a TV show, like a Netflix original series, that would be fantastic. I want to do a lot of charity work — I’m a person that’s in recovery [from an alcohol addiction] so I really want to put out that message as well. There’s a lot that I want to do, the sky is the limit. I want to dabble in everything. I wish I did have time to relax, but I’m a Virgo and it’s just not in me. I think the hustle is just in my blood — always hungry, never satisfied.”

Candice Michelle Bagged Herself A Handsome Chiropractor

Candice Michelle was a model who entered wrestling via the Diva Search competition, and although she didn’t really make it far on the reality TV competition, she did catch the eye of the WWE producers because they signed her anyway. In 2005, she joined the WWE, and by 2007, she was well-known and well-loved, although, just two years later, her career came to an end because of an injury.

She always loved wrestling and told OnMilwaukee, “I grew up on wrestling. At that time I wasn't like, 'Oh, I want to be a pro wrestler.' I didn't even know you could train to do that. So it was really funny because, for me, it came full circle. I grew up watching it every Monday night with my stepdad, Ken. This is actually part of a little talk I give: I had a Hulk Hogan doll, instead of Barbie dolls…"

At the same time that her career was skyrocketing, Michelle’s personal life was also doing well and in 2005, she married a man named KenGee Ehrlich. You haven’t heard of him before because he’s not a wrestler, but he is a fantastic husband, father-of-three, and a Los Angeles chiropractor. She told OnMilwaukee that her injury was actually a blessing in disguise because after it, she and her husband took a couple of trips, and she fell pregnant with their first daughter. She added, “You know, I'm grateful for the injury and when it happened and everything because I could have never said, ‘I'm done.’”

Trish Stratus Fell In Love With Her Childhood Sweetheart

Trish Stratus is a woman who needs no introduction to those who are fans of wrestling because she won the Women’s Championship seven times, and was also the youngest member to be inducted into the wrestlers Hall of Fame in 2013. She retired in 2011 after fighting (and winning) with Jim Morrison against Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler.

But it’s not just her professional life that has proven to be a success. Stratus has also been married for more than a decade, and the man who holds her heart is not a professional wrestler, rather a man named Ron Fisico, who is reportedly a bodybuilder. In addition to being married since 2006 (they married in Toronto, surrounded by family and friends, as well as WWE divas), the couple were high school sweethearts who had met in secondary school. They also share two children; the first was a son named Maximus who was born in 2013, and the second was a daughter, Madison-Patricia, who was born in 2016 when Stratus was 41. Motherhood is a role she seems to be incredibly proud of, and her Instagram page is filled with photos of herself and her kids, as well as cute captions about how she loves spending time with them.

Kaitlyn Claimed To Have Had A 'Terrible Marriage' To Bodybuilder, PJ Braun

Celeste Beryl Bonin is best-known under her wrestling name, Kaitlyn, and although many pro wrestlers appear to gravitate towards men of the same profession, she wasn’t one of them. Instead, Kaitlyn was married to bodybuilder, PJ Braun, and according to The Sun, in 2014, she chose to leave her career with the WWE after four years to focus on her marriage (their wedding took place that same year). However, their marriage was not to last and in September 2017, they got divorced.

In an Instagram video, Kaitlyn addressed the rumors, telling fans that it was her decision and that they had tried to keep it amicable. She went through a tough time leading up to this and announced in an additional Instagram post that she had been struggling with a lot of personal issues, including addiction. Part of the caption also mentioned her marriage and read: "Over the past few years I was in a terrible marriage, an addict, and not true to myself. It took me so long to admit I had a problem... and then to admit how serious the problem was. I used to pretend to be and to live a certain way for social media…”

Gail Kim And Her Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine Do Everything Together

Gail Kim may have made her way into the Impact Wrestling hall of fame, but she’s not interested in a man with the same achievements because she’s happily married to British celebrity chef, Robert Irvine. Irvine has hosted several Food Network programs, and according to HitBerry, it was actually on the set of his show, Dinner: Impossible, where he and Kim first met. The publication also notes that they started dating soon after this first meeting.

The pair got engaged in 2011, and were married in 2012. They honeymooned in Greece with the photos being shared on the Food Network website. And although a wrestler and a chef may seem like an odd combination, it’s definitely one that works. Kim spoke about this in an interview with The Daily Meal, saying, “A lot of people used to say when we were first together, “That’s weird, a wrestler and a chef…” Although those worlds seem like total opposites, there are also a lot of similarities in our lifestyle. I think that’s what makes it work. He’s in entertainment as well because he’s in food and television. We both travel a lot in our lifestyle. Our love of fitness and health, we like to work out together. We love to do everything together…”

Kelly Kelly Only Had Eyes For An NFL Star

Kelly Kelly, whose real name is Barbie Blank, is another woman who wasn’t interested in settling down with a professional wrestler, and instead, she married NFL player, Sheldon Souray. The couple married in 2016, in a beautiful ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, surrounded by their friends and family.

At the time of their nuptials, the wrestler spoke to E! News about her happiness, telling the publication, "I couldn't be happier! Tonight was the most magical, incredible night and I'm officially Mrs. Souray! I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have married my best friend!" Her husband at the time agreed, and exclaimed, "Barbie came into my life and swept me off my feet! I'm thrilled to have this amazing woman become my wife and looking forward to spending my life with my best friend!"

But unfortunately, their relationship was not meant to be, and in 2017, it was announced that they had split. And if reports are to be believed, then Kelly Kelly is already back on the dating scene because a source told Us Weekly at the time the split reports surfaced that they had split some months back, adding, "Barbie is already going on dates with other guys."

Mandy Rose Was Engaged To A Man Who Didn't Work With Her

Mandy Rose, also known as The Golden Goddess, is a really good looking woman, and she’s also not that interested in bagging a WWE wrestler because she was engaged to a man named Michael Lubis. Fans were given a glimpse into their relationship when she appeared on the reality TV show, Total Divas, in 2016, replacing Naomi.

The dating timeline between Rose and her former fiancé is unclear, but one thing we do know for sure is that they got engaged in 2016, and Lubis announced this on Instagram. However, according to Sportster, the post was later deleted, casting doubt on their relationship; and it now looks as though these two have split. But that’s OK, because the first person Rose is in love with is really herself, and in response to a question from WWE about what she would say to people who feel she’s too obsessed with her aesthetics, she said: “I don’t respond to those people. People who say I’m too obsessed with my aesthetics are either jealous or need glasses. Take a look at me and tell me you’re not obsessed. My accolades, accomplishments and credentials speak for themselves.”

She also has found a new person to share her Instagram page with, and that’s BFF and pro wrestler, Sonya Deville. In fact, they are so close that they have sparked relationship rumors.

Becky Lynch Has Found A Man Who Dotes On Her, UFC Fighter Luke Sanders

The Irish star, Becky Lynch, nicknamed Lass Kicker, is in love with an athlete, but he’s not part of the WWE family. His name is Luke Sanders, and he is a UFC fighter, and the pair met in 2016. According to Heavy, they initially exchanged a few tweets, and although it’s unclear when exactly they met up and started dating, they were spotted together at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla show in July of that year.

This is a relationship that Sanders is not afraid to speak about in the media, and by speak, I mean to gush, because he told Fightful that is one lucky guy. He said, "I'm the guy that dates the hot famous girl. She's great. We met through the industry, then met in California, not too far from where we're staying now in LA. It's kind of funny how life brings you back in the same place…”

He is also not shy about sharing his affections on social media and his Instagram account is filled with cute photos of himself and his girlfriend, most of which are captioned with adorable messages about his love for her. Although, sometimes his girlfriend can get a little too much attention online, which Sanders says she deals with very well.

Sonya Deville Doesn't Have A Wife Yet

Sonya Deville, real name Daria Berenato, doesn’t appear to be interested in dating another professional wrestler, but she is very close friends with Mandy Rose and the pair’s connection has been the subject of multiple online forums.

If Deville was going to date a wrestler, it would be a woman, and she is the first openly-lesbian wrestler, something that she first revealed on a 2015 episode of Tough Enough. PinkNews noted that when she was asked by judges whether or not she was in a relationship she said, “I don’t have a wife yet, but I have a girlfriend.” She has also shown her support of the LGBT community, posting a photo on Instagram in celebration of pride, as well as sharing to 6ABC News (via Out) that it was important for her, as a well-known professional wrestler, to come out. She said, “If I can be a voice for people who might be intimidated by coming out… they see my doing it in front of pretty big people in the WWE world, hopefully, it will give them the courage to do it.”

Fast-forward a few years and it would seem that Deville is single, either that, or she has kept her relationship very private.

Sasha Banks Is Happily Married To A Costume Designer

Sasha Banks is married to Sartha Ton, formerly known as Kid Mikaze, and although you could argue that she doesn’t deserve a spot on this list of being uninterested in wrestlers because he was once a WWE star, that’s a profession he has since left behind him. Ton is now a costume designer and responsible for making WWE costumes.

The pair got married in August of 2016, but initially kept their marriage a secret. In 2017, Banks opened up about her decision on the podcast, Making Their Way to the Ring (via Daily Star), saying, "You’re the first one I’ve admitted it to. I am married. I just hide it because our fans are so crazy sometimes, you know? I just think fans are just so crazy. I see what they write to him on Twitter, and I don’t like that stuff. If you’re saying he’s ugly, or he shouldn’t be with me because of this or that, that hurts me, you know?"

Ton seems like a lovely, supportive husband and in May of 2018, he paid tribute to his wife with a touching Instagram post, writing, “My #wcw is and always will be my beautiful wife @sashabankswwe expressing love for someone you care about is a luxury in life that I don't take lightly. People deserve to know what they mean to you, and you shouldn't feel ashamed or scared for doing so. Some of the strongest people I know are strong because they don't hide their emotions; you can see in their faces what life means them.”
