Casey Anthony is possibly the most hated woman in America. If you've been living under a rock and don't know who she is, she was charged with murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee and then was acquitted. But she wasn't acquitted because it seemed that she was innocent; she was acquitted more because the state didn't prove her guilt. So, she walked free.
For those of you who don't remember what the case was about, Caylee was reported missing by her grandmother who said she hadn't seen her in a month. Casey admitted to the police that she hadn't seen her daughter for weeks and didn't know where she was, which obviously is a huge red flag. What mother doesn't call the cops when her daughter is missing? Casey made it worse when she lied to detectives about how her daughter was kidnapped by a nanny. Caylee's body was eventually found in a trash bag near the family's home, and Casey was charged with murder. Needless to say, people were extremely angry when she was acquitted.
So, what's she up to now? You're going to have to read on to find out. Here's what Casey Anthony is up to today.
15 She's living with her private investigator
Casey Anthony is now living with the private investigator who was hired by her lawyers. His name is Patrick McKenna. It's unclear what kind of relationship that they actually have, but it also appears that she's doing some work for him. She said in an interview, "I love the fact that I have a unique perspective, and I get a chance to do for other people what so many others have done for me." McKenna is a lot older than she is, so who knows what sort of relationship they really have? But one thing is for sure, and that's the whole thing is a little off and is definitely kind of creepy. Although we're talking about Casey Anthony here, I would just sort of assume things are going to be odd and creepy most of the time.
14 The judge in her case doesn't believe her
You know when the judge is still talking smack about you years later that you probably got lucky. Judge Belvin Perry said in an interview, "As I've expressed, the only person that really knows what happened was Casey." This obviously means that he either thinks Casey killed her child or that she knows what happened and didn't tell anyone. He thinks it's possible -- and many people agree -- that Casey killed her daughter accidentally when she used chloroform to try and quiet Caylee down but then panicked and hid the body. If that's true, it may mean that she isn't a murderer, but it does mean for certain that Casey is an incredibly horrible person, but I think we all knew that anyway.
13 She plays with babies
Does it go without saying that Casey Anthony is probably not going to kill some random baby if you put it in her arms, but still, why would you let her hold your baby? Why would you let her hold anyone's baby? She lost her right to do that when she allegedly did what she did to Caylee. She's extremely clueless. Why would you pick up a baby in public if you were Casey? I know if I had her past, and thank goodness I don't, if someone offered to give me a baby to hold, I would be like, "Yeah, no thanks. That's probably not a good idea." But when it comes to having good ideas, Casey seems to be a little clueless to what the whole thing means.
12 She's being sued
We already established that Casey is pretty broke, but that doesn't mean that she can't be sued. The utility worker who found Caylee's body is suing Casey because she accused him of being involved in Caylee's death. This is just another example of how totally lame she is. So, some random guy finds your daughter's body in a trash bag in the woods, and then, you accuse him of being her killer? Talk about totally grasping at straws! That has got to be one of the most ridiculous theories that have ever been put out there. It just shows once again how desperate and pathetic her attempts were to blame other people. The lawsuit's been delayed numerous times; if it does finally happen, the whole thing could be rather interesting.
11 She attended a protest
One thing that's for sure is that Casey is, without a doubt, a concerned citizen -- at least when it comes to other people, not herself. She recently attended a Trump protest outside of his Florida resort. You go, Casey! It sure is good to know that you're out there making your voice heard about the things that are bothering you in this world. Casey honestly needs to buy a clue. If she was in a situation where she was opposing what I was doing, I would be so happy about it. Casey, here's a pro tip: no one wants to be on the same side as you are. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years when it comes to Casey. She's still young enough to live a long life, but what will happen over the rest of it is anyone's guess.
10 She's broke
As you might imagine, Casey doesn't have a lot of employment opportunities; being one of the most hated people in the world does have its drawbacks, of course. At one point, she filed for bankruptcy, saying that she had only around 1,000 dollars in assets and was over 700 thousand bucks in debt. Must be tough, Casey. Oh wait, you got away with murder; I almost forgot about that. I guess I don't feel that bad for you after all. She's gotten by taking handouts from people, including some on her legal team, and by living for free in other people's homes. Still, being broke and having people take care of you financially is not much of a punishment when you think about what she did, not even a little bit, actually.
9 She tried starting a photography business
At one point, she started a photography business called "Case Photography." The business was registered using Pat McKenna's address. This did not go all that well; the social media page of the business was trolled incessantly by people messing with her and calling her a murderer, and she didn't get a whole lot of work. I mean, seriously... who would hire Casey Anthony to take photos of them? That's just totally ridiculous. And Case Photography? If you got away with murder and are one of the most infamous people in the world, then maybe, don't use a part of your name as the businesses name? Not a very good decision, Casey, but then again, she's never been known for making good decisions.
8 She wants to write a book
What do most people who've done something that the whole world knows about do when they need money? They write a book. Casey has had some thoughts herself about doing this, but it seems none of the big publishing houses want to partner with someone who almost certainly killed her kid. A source told RadarOnline, "She has also been spending a lot of time going through her past journal entries and including excerpts that she wants included in a book that she wants to write… Casey feels this is the only way that she can get her story out and she feels that the public wants to hear from her." If you're waiting to read this book, don't hold your breath. I don't think anyone will give her a deal.
7 She and her family are on the outs
As you might imagine, her relationship with her family is a tad strained. She didn't go to her brother's wedding and talks to her mother rarely, she doesn't talk to her father at all, although that's not much of a surprise, considering that her lawyers said that her father molested her as a kid. One has to admit that having your granddaughter disappear and knowing that your daughter had something to do with it is bad enough, but then, having her come out and say that you molested her has got to be the cherry on the sundae. I may be way off on this, but I truly doubt that Thanksgiving at the Anthony household is a good time. I also doubt that Casey will be going home for the holidays anytime soon.
6 Her life is boring
Casey doesn't seem to do a whole lot in her life these days. According to an article in People: "Not much is going on in her life. She gets up each day, hangs around, checks the internet, takes some pictures, and doesn't do much… and she doesn't really make a lot of friends, for obvious reasons. When people find out about her history, they usually bail on her. [She has] very few friends her age." Yeah, I would imagine the whole thing might make it hard to make friends. I don't think I would particularly want to hang out with her too much. Of course, being bored is really not much of a punishment considering what she did. Whether she was innocent of murder or not is up for debate... maybe, but the fact her kid disappeared and she didn't report it is not.
5 She worked as a housekeeper for her lawyer
Casey was her attorney's, Cheney Mason's, live-in housekeeper and nanny, and it's also been reported that he supports her financially. Not only that, but it's been said that she had a sexual relationship with another one of her lawyers because she couldn't' afford to pay him, although the attorney denies it. How odd is this whole thing? An attorney that got you off of a murder charge still pays your way, and you live in the house of the private investigator that helped you beat the charges, too? The whole thing is really pretty insane, which obviously is not a huge surprise. This was one of the most bizarre cases ever. Why would things change now when the whole thing is all over? I don't see any reason.
4 She still says she doesn't know what happened to Caylee
This is no surprise, of course. It isn't like she's going to admit that she does at this point. She said in an interview, "Everyone has their theories; I don't know. As I stand here today, I can't tell you one way or another. The last time I saw my daughter, I believed she was alive and was going to be OK, and that's what was told to me. I'm OK with myself; I sleep pretty good at night." Yeah, Casey... I'm sure you sleep great. Why would you not? She admitted that she lied to police numerous times: she said she was employed at Universal Studios, she claimed that she had left Caylee with a baby sitter, she said she had told two people that Caylee had been missing, and she insisted that she had received a phone call from Caylee the day before she had been reported missing.
3 She's insinuated her family lied
One thing for sure about Casey Anthony is that she doesn't mind throwing other people in her family under the bus, and she continues to do so even now. She's insinuated that Caylee's father was responsible for her death and has also inferred that her own father molested her as a child. Gee, Casey... do you think this is one of the reasons that you have a hard time making friends and don't have much going on in your life? It's one thing to be charged with a crime yourself, but it's quite another to try and blame everyone in your life so you can get away with whatever it is that you did. If there's one thing for sure, it's that Casey has some character flaws, and they're ones that she doesn't seem to want to deal with.
2 She doesn't want more kids
Casey has come out and said she doesn't want any more kids, and I would say this is probably a good thing. She said in an interview, "[Caylee] is still the central part of my life, the central part of my being, always will be. If I am blessed enough to have another child—if I'd be dumb enough to bring another kid into this world knowing that there'd be a potential that some jackass, their little snot-nosed kid, would then say something mean to my kid—I don't think I could live with that." Yeah, Casey... how awful would it be if someone said something mean to your kid. This is just another one of the incredibly delusional statements that Casey has said over the years that show she really doesn't get it.
1 She tried to stop an interview from being published
Speaking of that interview with the Associated Press, once Casey gave the interview, she then tried to get them not to run it. That isn't the way it works, Casey. Here's a pro-tip: you're one of the most famous people in the world to ever get away with a crime, at least in theory. If you give a reporter an interview, he is, without a doubt, going to run it. Why wouldn't he? If you sit down and talk to a reporter and give him one of the biggest scoops in his career, he's certainly going to run the story. This is just another of the many examples of how delusional Casey is and how she thinks that none of the rules apply to her. Casey, if you want to do another interview, look me up. I promise all my questions will be easy.
