Even celebrities have paranormal experiences. Some of them keep it to themselves, while others come out and reveal to the world what they've seen. These celebrities might have seen ghosts, aliens, or had a near death experience where they've "seen the light." Whatever their experience was, it definitely took a lot of courage to come out and reveal to the world that what they saw was real. Celebrities are in a position where they're easily ridiculed, and saying that they've experienced the paranormal could ruin their reputation.
It's so important that celebrities come out and share their paranormal experiences with the world. People look up to celebrities and actually listen to them. Many other people who have come forward and shared their experiences with the paranormal are shut down, dismissed, and ridiculed. But celebrities demand the world's attention, and their confessions make the whole paranormal world seem much more credible. Although still these notions are dismissed by the scientific community, who demand proof, celebrities coming forward with their experiences is a great start to get people to accept the truth.
But do celebrities really give that much credence to the world of paranormal activity? I mean, let's face it, a lot of celebrities are completely insane. Especially actors. Those people have a reputation for being off their rockers. So maybe the fact that they're coming forward and asserting their belief in ghosts and UFOs isn't actually helping the legitimacy of these things... Maybe it just makes everyone who believes in this seem even more insane. Either way, these are some interesting stories told by people in the media spotlight, and some might just make you question reality...
15 Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey has reportedly had some very real experiences with ghosts. Well, to be exact, just one ghost. He had recently moved in to a new house when he heard a "ruckus," and ran downstairs to investigate. Long story short, he met a ghost who called herself "Madame Blue." McConaughey says that despite an initial fright, the two got to know each other quite well and actually became friends. Who would have guessed? There's also the fact that the award-winning actor was actually stark naked when ran into "Madame Blue," which might have made her a little more friendly to him than if it had been another (clothed) occupant of the house. In Matthew McConaughey's own words, he describes the experience: "She has no qualms with me. We get along just fine. She's a cool ghost. Maybe me being nude all the time is why we get along!"
14 Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson is an actress that firmly believe that people all around the world regularly see ghosts. She believes that the supernatural is governed by spiritual energy, which certain people can see. She explained her views once in an interview, saying, “It is not really seeing, it is feeling a spirit. A fifth energy. I believe in energy. I believe our brains can manifest into visual things.”
Speaking about her own personal experience with ghosts, Hudson details the time she saw and felt various entities around her: "I've seen ghosts plenty of times. I've seen a ghost of a woman with no face, and that was really creepy. Another time. my grandmother came to me and I woke up and felt amazing that she was around me." Of all the people on this list, Kate Hudson has some of the most logical and well thought out arguments when it comes to ghosts.
13 Megan Fox
Megan Fox is famous for her belief in all kinds of crazy supernatural things, such as UFOs, leprechauns, monsters, you name it. But she's perhaps most vocal about her belief in ghosts, as she confessed in an interview: "I've heard ghosts. I was just in Mexico at my hotel [. . .] and at 7 am — I had pre-ordered breakfast for 7:30 am — I heard them come in with the little table, I heard them pouring coffee and I thought 'Ugh, I'm not going to get up for another 30 minutes and my coffee is going to be cold. That sucks.' So I get up 30 minutes later, no coffee, no table, no nothing. I heard the doorbell ring, I answer the door, it's room service with my food, they bring it in. I turn around and all the bedroom lights are on and I'm like, you know what, I'm delirious, I've been traveling, drink your coffee. Brandy the nanny comes in later and she's like, 'Why did room service come in at 7 when we told them to come in at 7:30?' So you can't tell me I'm crazy because two people heard it." Yep, definitely not crazy...
12 Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves is definitely the kind of guy who believes in the supernatural, and he's said as much. This is probably due to the fact that Reeves has dealt with a lot of death in his life, losing his closest friends and loved ones throughout his life. He has had a recurring experience where he sees a ghost in the form of a suit with nobody inside - just floating eerily in mid-air. He has talked about these experiences before, saying: "All of a sudden we are looking at [the doorway] and this jacket comes waving through the doorway. Just an empty jacket, there's no head, there's no body, there's no legs, it's just there and then it disappears. And I was a little kid so I was like, 'OK well that's interesting.'"
He then saw the same thing a second time later in his life, explaining: "I remember just staring at this suit, which has no body or legs in it as it came into the room before disappearing. It was a double-breasted suit in white, and I looked at my nanny, who was just as shocked as me. I just couldn't get back to sleep afterwards, and I still see the figure in my dreams and nightmares."
11 Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato is a superstar singer and former Disney star, and apparently her side job is ghost hunter! This star not only believes in ghosts, she actively searches for them and tries to capture them on tape! I never expected this from Demi... She explained in an interview: "I go ghost hunting. My house in Texas is so ridiculously haunted. Not by a bad spirit, but a little girl. I think her name is Emily. I’ve had a medium come over and ghost hunters, and they both told me the same name, Emily. There were so many times that I saw her when I was growing up. I saw her in my closet one time. When I was 3 years old my mom caught me talking to something by myself. She asked, “Who are you talking to?” and I said, “My best friend Emily.” She’s playful. She’d probably be around 11 or 12 years old, maybe younger." She seems so unafraid of ghosts... I would be so scared if that was me!
10 Ariana Grande
Another star who has revealed her belief in the supernatural is Ariana Grande. Like Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande actually actively tried to seek ghosts out, although Grande was a little more wary and paranoid of the consequences than the more cocksure Lovato. In an interview, she recalled a time when she and some friends visited a famously haunted cemetery: "We wanted to go to Stull Cemetery, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth. I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon. I was like, 'This is scary, let's leave.' I rolled down the window before we left and said, 'We apologize. We didn't mean to disrupt your peace.' Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture — they're faces of textbook demons." I would definitely do the same thing if I was in her shoes... Just get the hell out of there!
9 Zinedine Zadane
Zinedine Zidane was one of the most popular soccer stars back in the day, and today he's the manager of Real Madrid. His last appearance on the soccer stage was back at the 2006 World Cup, where he made an unforgettable exit after being red carded for headbutting Materazzi. But as the star athlete explains, he wasn't even going to participate in the world cup... Until a mysterious visit from a ghost convinced him to play again for France.
In an interview, Zidane admitted that "One night at three in the morning, I suddenly woke up and spoke to someone. I had to obey this voice that advised me. I don't want people to make too much out of this, or for what I've confessed to be misinterpreted, but what's happened to me is quite mystical and even escapes me a bit. I didn't tell anyone about this — not my wife, not anyone." So it seems sure that whoever this ghost was, it was someone important that Zidane respected immensely, although Zidane refuses to tell anyone who it actually was, insisting that "Until my last breath, I won't say. It's too intense." Some people think that it was the ghost of Napoleon who convinced him to play for France, but that's just a theory.
Ke$ha definitely has one of the weirdest stories regarding the paranormal, and she even wrote a song about it. You can probably guess which song I'm talking about, considering the title of the track is "Supernatural." But this is way crazier than just seeing or even talking to a ghost. That's right, the song is about having sex with a ghost. She revealed this to Conan O'Brien a few years back when she was on his show, and pretty much everyone was either surprised, revolted, or turned on. In her own words, Ke$ha explains the inspiration behind the track, "Supernatural," saying: "I did go to the bone zone with a ghost. Do you want details? I don’t know his name but he was in my house. He started caressing me. It was a sexy time, it wasn’t like sex." So was it sex or wasn't it sex, Ke$ha? I need more details!
7 Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has proven herself to be one of the wackiest celebrities out there right now, so it's not surprising she's on this list. Yes, Lady Gaga has seen ghosts and she's not afraid to talk about it. But of all the people on this list, it's pretty hard to actually believe Lady Gaga when she talks about her experiences with ghosts because, well... She's quite obviously insane. In any case, Lady Gaga once announced that there was a male ghost called Ryan who traveled around with her everywhere she went. She went so far as to say he was actually quite annoying, and that she wanted to get rid of him, even though he wasn't violent. She was reportedly freaked out by this ghost, and by the fact that he wouldn't leave her alone. She's also reportedly tried several methods to get rid of this ghost, including hiring real-life ghostbusters and purchasing equipment that measures electromagnetic frequencies.
6 Gary Busey
Gary Busey is another famously crazy celebrity who of course has had experiences with the paranormal and the supernatural. Unlike the other celebrities so far who have all seen ghosts, Gary Busey claims to have been to heaven. He had a very serious accident while riding his Harley Davidson and seriously fractured his skull, almost killing him. Speaking about his near death experience, Busey said the following:
"When I went to the Other Side there were balls of light in the air and three of them came down to my essence. I was about a foot long and a quarter of an inch wide. I wasn’t a boy or a girl. I had no emotions from earth. And the light on the left spoke to me in an androgynous voice, in thought telling me what I’ve been doing was good, direction I was going in, good, ups and down downs ... [what] comes with the dinner on the unconscious menu. It said, 'Where are you going now? You need to look for help in the spiritual realm.' And then the voice said, 'You may come with us now or return to your body and continue your destiny. It’s your choice,' the light said." Pretty freaky stuff! But do we believe him?
5 Elizabeth Taylor
Another celebrity who had a near death experience and "saw the light" was Elizabeth Taylor. Our younger readers might not know who this is, but she was a very successful actor for many decades. When she was still quite young, she went in for a surgery on her back that almost killed her. Her husband Michael Todd had died in a plane crash a few years before this.
Speaking about the event, she said "I was pronounced dead once and actually saw the light. I find it very hard to talk about, actually, because it sounds so corny. It happened in the late '50s, and I saw Mike. When I came to, there were about eleven people in the room. I'd been gone for about five minutes. They had given me up for dead and put my death notice on the wall. I shared this with the people that were in the room next to me. Then after that I told another group of friends, and I thought, 'Wow, this sounds really screwy. I think I'd better keep quiet about this.' For a long time I didn't talk about it, and it's still hard for me to talk about. But I have shared it with people with AIDS because if the moment occurs and you're really sharing, it's real. I am not afraid of death, because I have been there." Of all the people on this list, Elizabeth Taylor's story sounds like one of the more believable accounts.
4 Ozzy Osbourne
Of all the people who have had supernatural experiences, people are least surprised when they learn Ozzy Osbourne has experienced the paranormal. But what a lot of people don't realize is that Ozzy Osbourne is actually a lot less "satanic" than people think. In fact, when he had a near death experience, he experienced his version of "heaven." But it wasn't the traditional heaven that he had been told about as a child. His accident came as a result of a terrible ATV accident. "I didn't know where I was or how long I'd been there. I would drift in and out of consciousness. Other times there would be a white light shining through the darkness, but no F**king angels, no one blowing trumpets and no man in a white beard." That's a pretty grim vision of the afterlife, but you know what? I believe in his version of heaven more so than the "traditional" heaven.
3 Sharon Stone
Another celebrity who had a powerful near death experience was Sharon Stone. This amazing Hollywood actress suffered an intense brain hemorrhage in 2001. She was taken to hospital and very nearly died. For a while there it looked like she wasn't going to make it, and Sharon Stone herself seemed ready to die. She was passed out one day when she fell into a deep trance and had a near death experience. In her own words, she explained in a recent interview: "I had a 'white light' experience. It was beautiful and very illuminating. However, it was a catastrophe. I still go for check-ups and if I feel anything wrong - even if my toe feels a little odd - I get my head checked." The "bright light" is a very common theme among all people who have had near death experiences. Is it just a chemical reaction in the brain? Or is it the sign of something supernatural, the "other side?" Only the dead know the answer to that...
2 Robbie Williams
Switching gears here, we take a look at a celebrity who has experienced a very different type of supernatural occurrence: a UFO. The person we are talking about is of course Robbie Williams, the actor who became best known for his career as a British pop singer. In a strange move, Williams took a break from his singing career to visit UFO abductees in Nevada, and he took it extremely seriously. Robbie Williams himself claims to have witnessed UFOs no less than 3 times, as a child and as an adult. He describes one of the UFO sightings, as "this big ball of gold light turned up. On my life." One of his sightings even occurred right after he had written a song about alien contact. This is pretty creepy, and with reputable people like Robbie Williams confessing to seeing aliens, it really gives a lot more credibility to all the people in the world who believe in UFOs.
1 Russell Crowe
Another person who you might be surprised to learn believes in UFOs is Russell Crowe. He famously once posted his evidence of a UFO that he captured on camera. He set up a time-lapse camera to film the sun rising over a botanical garden, but when he played the footage back, he was shocked to discover something he didn't expect: Some kind of flying object skimming across the garden. The evidence is making a lot of people question what they previously believed. Russell Crowe has since become quite vocal in his belief in UFOs, and rumor has it that he even started a web presence devoted to more UFO sightings. Even though this web presence is done in another name, many believe that Russel Crowe is actually the one behind it. Either way, this celebrity is adding even more credibility to the UFO community that already has a ton of UFO sighting evidence.
