Wendy Williams wants access to her $20 million fortune, and now she’s calling out those who are keeping it from her. The host of the now-canceled daytime talk show The Wendy Williams Show took to Instagram to demand Wells Fargo let her access to her bank account —and blast her financial advisor for claiming that she was of an unsound mind.
During the three minute rant on her new Instagram page—one that’s not affiliated with her show—Williams called out her former financial advisor at Wells Fargo, Lori Schiller, and her former manager Bernie Young, both of whom she fired earlier this year —along with the rest of her management team.
“My thing is that I've been asking questions about my money and suddenly Lori Schiller has got no response regarding my money. I want my money, it's not fair and Wells Fargo has no questions and answers with regarding my money,” Williams began. “This is not fair and Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo have this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money, this is not right!”
Williams is referring to the fact that Schiller claims that she was 'of unsound mind', which led to Wells Fargo blocking the hosts’ access to her accounts earlier this year. Her lawyers disputed the claim and accused the bank of overstepping its authority.
A lawyer for the bank explained that they were seeking a temporary guardianship while they review the situation, and that they wanted to make sure that her affairs were being handled properly. The bank is concerned that Williams was not the victim of financial exploitation.
She then accused her ex-manager of using her personal accounts to hire an attorney.
“I know for a fact that Bernie Young used my American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against me that was done with my American Express card. This is not fair anymore,” Wendy continued emotionally. “You're no good and this is not fair at all”
Williams briefly touched on her ongoing health troubles, alleging that a doctor she fired sent Schiller private medical information about her—information that she never got herself! Williams believes that she is being taken for a fool and that Wells Fargo is using “all of this stuff” to create guardianship over her.
She concluded with a plea to her bank: “This is not fair. Wells Fargo please let me have access to my money this is not right and again this is not fair, have a pleasant day thank you.”
