Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale have officially settled their divorce, and a new report shows just how much the actress had to pay to her ex-husband.

According to PEOPLE, court documents reveal that a court ordered Valerie to pay Tom $2.2 million "in full, final, and complete settlement and satisfaction of any and all claims between them."

The settlement may seem like a lot, but the court determined that Valerie won’t have to pay spousal support, due to their prenuptial agreement.

In July, it was reported that Tom hoped to have the prenup over-turned, and was seeking $50,000 a month in spousal support as well as an additionally $200,000 from Valerie to cover his legal fees.

Tom, who previously worked as an accountant, claimed he was struggling to find work. After getting married, he says he quit his job and focused his attention to building Valerie’s businesses, which is why he felt entitled to compensation and spousal support.

“Tom's age and decades out of the field, make it unlikely that he will be a desirable candidate for a job in the investment industry,” his lawyer argued in court documents.

At the time, it was reported Valerie had been giving him $8,000 per month since filing for divorce in May 2022, citing irreconcilable differences. She had originally filed for legal separation in November 2021, after a decade of marriage.

Last Tuesday, Valerie made a post to Twitter from the airport, saying, "My lawyer just called. The papers are all signed. They're about to be filed," she said.

She described herself as “happily divorced” in the video clip and captioned it “11.22.22. second best day of my life.”

Valerie made it especially clear she was ready to move on from her second marriage in September, when she revealed she was selling accessories from her wedding to Tom.

Sharing on Instagram, Valerie showed that she was selling a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and two rings from Tiffany and Co. on The Real Real, an online luxury consignment store.

“Dropped a few things off with @therealreal,” she wrote. “A couple of Tiffany rings that have some bad memories attached and a pair of shoes I wore to a wedding in January 2011. They should be up in a couple of weeks!”

Valerie was previously married to Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007, and they shared one son. Eddie died in 2020, only for Valerie to refer to him as her “soul mate” two years later.
