She worked with different producers on the album including Boi-1da, DJ Mustard, Hit-Boy, Brian Kennedy and Timbaland. The album sold about 1,285,000 albums worldwide, with 725,000 sales coming from the US and 360,000 sales from Europe.

Music of the Sun is the debut studio album released by Rihanna on August 29, 2005. The Barbadian singer released her first album through recording studio Def Jam Recordings. Before she signed up with Def Jam Recordings, Rihanna was discovered by record producer Evan Rogers when she was still in Barbados and decided to help her record some demo tapes to send out to numerous record labels. The recording sessions thook place in March 2009 and was recorded at recording studios all over United States and Europe. The album sold about 3,360,000 albums worldwide, with 1,200,000 sales coming from the US and 1,525,000 sales from Europe.
