Amid the destruction of Hurricane Ian, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have teamed up to donate to relief efforts.

The quarterback announced his donation on Twitter, writing, “Happy were able to head home for Sunday night, but so many people in Florida won’t be able to do the same." He continued, “I’ll be making a donation to the Florida Disaster Fund to get things started, and I’m hoping the rest of the NFL family in our state will follow suit.”

The athlete didn’t specify how much he intends to donate to the relief fund.

In addition, the owners of the Buccaneers confirmed they’ll be donating $1 million to go towards relief efforts.

The destruction suffered in Southwest Florida and the damage inflicted throughout our state will be felt for some time,” Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, co-owner of the Buccaneers, said in a statement.

“It will take entire communities resiliently working together for an extended period and our family is committed to aiding in the recovery,” he continued. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the countless people affected, the heroic first responders and all of those helping to keep others safe.”

Kassewitz added the money will go towards “organizations that are providing support to those who have been most impacted by the storm in Southwest Florida and throughout the state."

Earlier this year, Tom announced his retirement after 22 seasons with the Buccaneers. He then signed a $375 million with Fox Sports to join as a lead NFL analyst. However, only 40 days later, Tom announced he was un-retiring and joining the Buccaneers for another season.

Though fans were excited to see Tom back on the field, it’s reportedly caused tension in his marriage to Gisele Bundchen. The couple have been married since 2009 and share two kids together.

Gisele uncharacteristically didn’t show up to support Tom during his first game of this season, even though their kids were there. She’s also since admitted she was looking forward to Tom having more time for family during his retirement.

Some reports said that couple are arguing over their prenup; (Gisele allegedly wants to renegotiate in light of Tom’s deal with Fox Sports), while others suggest they may be considering divorce.

Sources say the long-time couple are trying to work through the rough patch. “They’re working through things and trying to come out the other side,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding Tom is doing “everything he can” to save the marriage.
