The corporation, which was a significant force in the personal computer revolution of the 1990s, eventually became a corporate juggernaut, and Gates gained recognition as a commercial tycoon and tech titan. According to Forbes, Gates' net worth as of June 2020 was predicted to be around $110 billion.

Gates left the Microsoft board in March 2020, but he still owns about 1.3 percent of the company's stock. The Giving Pledge, a campaign encouraging other billionaires to contribute the majority of their money to charity, was created in 2010 by Bill and Melinda Gates and billionaire investor Warren Buffett. As a well-known philanthropist, Gates has donated a sizeable sum to humanitarian organizations and research throughout the coronavirus outbreak. United Negro College Fund, Inc

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has thus far given $1.5 million as its largest donation. The Gates Millennium Scholar Program was established by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 1999 and is run by the United Negro College Fund, Inc. It lasts for 244 months. This substantial stipend is intended to help minority students with difficulty financing a good education. Since the program's inception in 2000, it has helped at least 1,000 students financially yearly.

GAVI Alliance

The foundation gave the Geneva-based GAVI Alliance a sizeable sum of $957 million as part of its worldwide development agenda. The GAVI Campaign

The GAVI Campaign received a $750 million donation from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 1999 as part of their global development initiative. The GAVI Campaign used the money granted by one of the most admired people in the world to support the immunization of children in as many as 74 countries for six months. The GAVI Campaign works to create vaccinations, deliver them, and provide children in developing nations with the shots they need. The third-largest of Bill Gates' most significant donations has helped the GAVI Campaign's goal of assisting young people in the fight against fatal viruses and other watery diseases.

Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria

In 2011, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donated $750 million to the Global Fund to combat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria as part of its advocacy program. The donation to the Global Fund, which spans 229 months, aims to aid in the effort to give all nations financial assistance to diagnose, treat, and inform the general public about the three deadly diseases. World Health Organization (WHO)

UNICEF

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donated $500 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in 2006 before promising a sizable sum of $750 million to the same organization in 2011. The donation, which spanned 43 months, was approved under the advocacy and global program. Its primary goal was to address the issue of AIDS and malaria's rapid spread. The program included the provision of vaccines for immunization in these nations.

GAVI Alliance

In December 2009, the GAVI Alliance received a grant of $375 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The billionaire who dominated the Forbes' list has given cash which is being used by the GAVI Alliance for general operations related to the supply of vaccines, which is their strategic goal. The program runs from December 10, 2009, until January 1, 2015, for 61 months. The grantee's establishment of the GAVI Alliance was to enhance the immunization of children in developing nations. The present donation to the GAVI Alliance ranks sixth among Bill Gates' most significant contributions.

CUDOUS

Previous grants show how dedicated the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is to supporting gifted youngsters' education. The foundation granted $210 million to Cambridge University Development Office in the United States Inc (CUDOUS) as part of the same project after the latter pledged to launch a global scholarship program. Following the agreement, CUDOUS provided scholarships to post-graduate students from outside the UK who desired to attend Cambridge University for 12 months. The award for the 90 individuals chosen from a pool of more than 4,000 applicants includes tuition expenses, a maintenance stipend, and even a round-trip economy flight. In 2010, the scholarship marked its tenth year.
