Soulja Boy is under fire for an unpaid bill at a jewelry store, and things are really starting to heat up between both parties. The name of the jewelry store in question is Icebox, and initially, Soulja Boy tried to convince the world that he was the one that put them on the map, since he shopped there so frequently. Complex reports that somehow, the relationship between this company and Soulja Boy completely broke down. A 2013 invoice for $60,000 ended up in the courts, and has now ballooned into an outstanding invoice totaling $200,000. Both parties seem far from reaching a settlement in this matter.
There was a point in time in which Soulja Boy was beaming with pride over his elaborate purchases of fine jewelry from Icebox. He was so proud, in fact, that he tried to take credit for 'putting them on the map' and boasted about his shopping experiences at the store.
The two parties enjoyed a trusting relationship in which Soulja Boy made a series of expensive purchases and the store ran an open tab for him.
This is where things got astray. Icebox claims that Soulja Boy owed them $60,000 for purchases made at their store, and after a series of attempts at collecting what was owed to them, they had no choice but to take this matter to court.
Icebox filed suit against Soulja Boy in 2013 but they claim they have yet to be paid for the items he has taken from their store.
So much time has passed that the total value of Soulja Boy's bill has grown significantly. According to TMZ, "Icebox says the debt has ballooned to around $200k, and of course... they want the money they believe is long overdue."
That massive growth of unpaid dues has been verified by Complex as well. They have reported that; "with interest and other fees, this amount has jumped to around $200,000. The store also disputed Soulja’s claims of being the first rapper to shop there. Although it admits that Soulja was the first big artist, the store claims to have serviced several other entertainers before Soulja Boy."
The store is not certain if Soulja Boy has enough money to cover the bill, as they see no other reason for him to leave it in its current state of arrears. In spite of the monetary dispute, reports indicate that Soulja Boy is far more concerned with his image being tainted, than with the actual bill that remains unpaid. He has spent time defending his honor by bragging about how much money he makes, with no clear intentions on putting any of that money to good use, by paying off his debts.
