Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews spared no expense when it came to spoiling their bridal party. The couple, who are engaged to be married, gifted their bridesmaids and groomsmen a series of luxurious gifts, including Rolex watches and Cartier jewellery.
According to TMZ, the couple’s friend Sydni Paige revealed the elaborate gifts in a social media post made Wednesday. She shared how Brittany gave her a custom, monogrammed robe and a Cartier Love bracelet, which retails for a minimum of $5,000, in order to ask her to be a bridesmaid.
The bride-to-be wasn’t the only one treating her bridal party. Patrick also doled out several eye-catching gifts. His brother, Jackson Mahomes, revealed the swag bags included custom flasks, Fireball shots, and silver Rolex watches. It also included sweet note from Patrick telling his brother how much it would mean to him if he’d agree to be in the bridal party.
According to Horus Straps, the cheapest Rolex is the Oyster Perpetual sitting at $5,7000. So, the athlete clearly spent a pretty penny treating his groomsmen. Both Sydni and Jackson said “yes” to the invitation to be part of the bridal party.
Patrick and Brittany first became engaged in September 2020, PEOPLE Magazine reports. Patrick, who is a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, revealed the news on Instagram when he shared a photo of his fiancé’s sparkling diamond to his Story.
Brittany also shared an inside look at the proposal on her own account, where she revealed Patrick spelt out “Will You Marry Me” with roses and lights. A separate post showed a candle-lit dinner laid out for the bride-to-be.
The long-time couple originally met while students at Whitehouse High Schools in Texas. They notably attended prom together in 2013. The pair remained together while Patrick rose to stardom in the NFL. Simultaneously, Brittany has been busy building her fitness empire, Brittany Lynn Fitness.
Earlier this year, Patrick and Brittany welcomed their first child, a daughter named Sterling. Though they welcomed their first-born in February, the couple waited until last month to reveal her face on social media.
The pair originally announced Brittany’s pregnancy shortly after their engagement. Brittany posted a series of images of herself and her fiancé holding up ultrasound photos. In the caption of the Instagram post, she revealed they would be “taking a small detour to the wedding.”
While it’s unclear exactly when the couple will walk down the aisle, Brittany previous revealed on social media it will likely be sometime in 2022.
