Cars is not the only Hollywood movie that has featured supercars and luxury rides. Some films have certain dramatic scenes often remembered for the expensive rides they have showcased. Often, movies based on action or car themes have to use appropriate cars to make the scenes appear more authentic. Usually, such models, after being used for the movie scenes, are sold at high prices in auctions. Like an exclusive automobile makes a stunt scene even more happening, being part of famous movie franchises like James Bond, Fast and Furious, or Batman also increases the car's value almost unbelievably.

The owners of such vehicles, in most cases, are not only big fans of the movie franchise but are also loyal customers of the automaker. An exclusive ride in a popular movie franchise is perhaps the perfect recipe for making a car memorable and even a classic in some cases—the auctions in which these rides are featured also become relatively special and hyped. Moreover, fans sometimes merely preserve the model only as a memorable asset, even more, if the car is not real and is just a fictional version.

Here is a list of some such expensive movie cars.

DeLorean DMC-12

The Back To The Future movie franchise is one of the oldest and started making sci-fi movies in the 1980s. The story revolves around time traveling, and that is what made the DeLorean DMC-12 used in the movies so special. This ride was shown as the time-traveling machine that caused aloof the drama in the film.

According to Finances Online, only seven car models were ever made, which is probably another factor that makes this movie car so special. One of these models was sold at a price of about $541,000 in a 2011 auction. The money went to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, founded by Fox himself, who is a victim of the disorder.

Lotus Esprit S1

The Spy Who Loved Me was a 1977 James Bond movie under the spy movie genre. One of the significant aspects of this Bond Movie was Wet Nellie -a car-submarine hybrid that made the fans lose their mind.

The Lotus Esprit S1 model, nicknamed Wet Nellie, featured in spectacular scenes where Roger Moore as James Bond ventured through the depths of water on this elegant ride. This beast was sold in an auction held in 2013, and Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, became its proud owner.

W Motors Lykan HyperSport

The 2015 action movie Furious 7 featured a W Motors Lykan HyperSport, often referred to as one of the most impressive cars ever used in The Fast And Furious movie franchise. This in itself is a huge compliment, given that the movies are car-centric and feature some dashing models.

This beast got featured in one of the most iconic scenes where two of the characters Brian and Dominic, took a leap from one skyscraper to another. The beautiful hypercar in devil’s red has an extravagant value of approximately $3.4 million.

Aston Martin DB5

The 1964 stunner Goldfinger was the third James Bond movie by Eon Productions, and among the many spectacular aspects of this movie was the Aston Martin DB5 that is featured. It is widely believed that young Sean Connery playing James Bond and riding an Aston Martin DB5 was a match made in heaven.

The priceless model was stolen until it was replaced by a second one made for Harry Yeaggy’s private museum. This British luxury tourer created by Aston Martin and designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has a hefty price tag of about $4.6 million.

The First Batmobile

The fans of Batman certainly know how spectacular the Batmobile was that featured in the show that lasted from 1966 to 1968. Some of them even agree that it is probably one of the most famous movie cars that ever existed.

The Batmobile was a 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car made by Ford and customized by the Lincoln Styling Department. This two-seater 19-feet long beast was a recycled product made in 1966. However, today it has the legacy of being the first Batmobile ever made.

1968 Ford GT40 Gulf

While speaking about the most expensive movie cars, it is almost impossible to leave out the dashing Steve McQueen riding in the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf. This beast took only a few moments in the 1971 movie Le Mans and still managed to win the heart of every automobile nerd.

Another factor that makes this ride so special is the amount of money spent on it. It stands at a fantastic value of about $11 million and is reportedly the most expensive American movie car. Of course, it would be heresy not to mention the Porsche 911S while talking about the Le Man's franchise. In a movie franchise that was all about cars, the Porsche 911S comes right next to the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf in name and fame.

Superhero, sci-fi, and action movie franchises like Batman, Fast and Furious, Back to the Future, and James Bond have some of the most memorable cars ever to appear on the screen. No matter how old the model is and how advanced the automobile industry becomes, these rides will go down in time as absolute masterpieces.
